If I'm Purdue I rip out the turf, plant some lush green grass, and let miles come eat grass in West Lafayette for the rest of his days, maybe they could find a way to 5 or 6 wins with him there.

Wow just wow...not many Sabans and Miles caliber coaches out there.  I would be surprised if Herman went for this job.  Who the hell wants to live in Louisiana it's miserable there in the summer

My prediction is Chip Kelly goes back to college next season at LSU.  It seems like a good fit from a reactionary perspective.  LSU has had a middling to bad offense for the past few years.  The fans there want an offense and they'd get it with Chip Kelly.  It would be an intriguing hire.

So you fire Les Miles for Jimbo Fisher only to have Fisher back out after it became public. Then you kiss Miles ass after having to keep him only to fire him 4 weeks into the season.

Well done LSU, well done. May as well send up smoke signals from the raging dumpster fire you've become.

Spoiled fan base.  I get it's taken a turn for the worse but Miles has delivered a national championship and top recruiting classes year after year in the last decade.  Even though I was critical of Lloyd Carr at the end of his tenure, this reminds me a lot of that situation.  We all know how the next 6 years or so went after that.  Hope they get an average hire and tire fire.

I want him in the booth, anybody's booth, right now. College football sucks without somebody like him in the booth. Fuck Herbstriet et al. BRING ON LES!!!

Les has made his $ and don't see him taking a lower scale head gig at this point.  Would love to see him come back to his alma mater as some kind of analyst.   He obviously knows football.

My god, Tom Hermann may have his pick of LSU, Texas, Notre Dame, USC, Oregon, or Oklahoma in the next season or two.

Each of those teams has played for a National Championship in the last 5 years.

I think that's still tbd.  They've beaten ND and UTEP and lost to Cal.  Nothing about that strikes me as eye opening (especially with ND looking awful this year).  Strong has gone 6-7 and 5-7 so far at Texas.  Who knows where they'll end up this year.  The Big 12, at least to me, appears to be a conference where with the exception of Iowa St, any team could beat another team.  If they go something like 6-6, Strong's seat is going to be very warm, if not hot.
