He may very well be (really, he is - I am trying to be polite), but he was the second-to-last coach to get Kansas football  a 10-win season - 1995, I believe. He's got that anyway, although it isn't much. He's also the man that Minnesota dumped in order to trade up for Tim Brewster, of course, so I suppose there is that too.

and got them to 7-4 (1987), which was their only winning season in the 1977-2000 era.

Kent State, Kansas, Minnesota.  If you had to pick 3 "college football back-waters", that's a pretty good three-some (especially Kent State and Kansas).  But Mason brought relative success to all 3.  Kind of a unique career.

How long before someone tries to make a big deal out of Harbaugh not mentioning the car accident like the rest of the coaches? I can hear the talking heads feigning outrage already.

Someone who writes about college football from his mom's basement made a big deal out of it. He may not write out of his moms basement, but its funnier that way. Does it really make a difference if he does or doesn't? Of course he feels bad for the families and friends everyone does. And he mentioned it later.

Harbaugh is a great coach, he is really bad (or really good) at answering questions as they are asked even when its harmless.

That he heaped that much sunshine on one player... Seems out of character for him, no matter the player in question. Especially one who is physically gifted beyond words, yet hasn't found a single position in which he truly excels at.

Damn... Calm down a bit and re-read it. That's a little over the top to claim that I was bashing Peppers, isn't it? If anything, I was proclaiming him to be talented enough to excel at multiple positions, if only given the opportunity. CB is probably out of contention at this point for him - His gifts may be better suited at S (hopefully LB) or somewhere on the perimeter of the line on offense. Sooo sensitive. lol

He excelled at every position he played at last year and there were by far the most on the team.  If he didn't he wouldnt be getting all the attention he does and being put on all these pre season watch lists.

I wouldn't go as far to say as he "exceled" at any position. Hell, we still aren't for sure exactly what position he's going to be drafted at. He did show that he's talented enough to play pretty much anywhere on the field. All I was saying is that he needs some time at ONE spot. My cousin likened it to OSU attempting to play Braxton Miller at multiple positions before he was able to actually learn the nuances of the first.
