OT - Your All-Time Favorite Movie is.....?
Mates,
I haven't been to a movie in years and can't tell you the last one I did see in a theatre. However, oldest son asked me to take him to see 'Captain America - Civil War' as a birthday gift since his birthday was last week and we just got back. He enjoyed it so I'm glad, but I must admit that I'm too old to really enjoy those types of films much, but also that they did have a few good one-liners mixed in toward the end of the flick.
I am adding a link here to the highest box office grossing films, which was a discussion we had on the way home. I was surprised to see how many titles that I had neither seen nor heard of : http://www.the-numbers.com/movie/records/All-Time-Worldwide-Box-Office
So, with a nod to the Monday thread about favorite war movies, what are the Mgobloggers all-time favorite movies?
EDIT: Should've done it by decade. Just looking at the 80's you have a boatload of classics: Lethal Weapon, Beverly Hills Cop, Top Gun, Caddyshack, Field of Dreams, and on...
Have a great weekend, Looks like Lake Michigan is warm enough to swim in, so might try that tomorrow with the sons.

It is. The ending is great. Same with the part where he talks in the mirror.
Like others, I am a bit of a film buff, so asking me to choose a favorite is hard, but a few that I never seem to tire of include:
"Network"
"Dog Day Afternoon"
"The Conversation"
"The Sting"
"All The President's Men"
The Falcon And The Snowman"
"WarGames"
"Nine To Five"
"Midnight Run"
"The Spy Who Came In From The Cold"
"Slap Shot"
"The Odessa File"
"Frost / Nixon"
"Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan"
I'll quit now. I could go on for a bit.
The dude abides.
or women like Rita Hayworth?

The Breakfast Club
Charlton Heston Planet of the Apes.
A Room with a View

For me, it's more science than fiction, and told beautifully with mostly just pictures and music.

The Big Chill. Love that movie. For comedy I'll go with Waiting for Guffman, it's hard picking a favorite Guest movie.
