Huge loss for Sparty D-line: Evans and Sweat leave school.
Very understandble though since a ton of lawyers like to put "Juris Doctorate" on their resumes or on-line biographies. I think they do it because it sounds fancier. They'd also say that the degree is a "doctoral" degree, so it isn't wrong, but others (including me) disagree.

MORK DIGIORNIO!!!!!!!!
it's Mork Digiornio! It's also frozen, just like his face.
we all know how this ends...2 weeks before season starts they will be reinstated and all forgiven...its what Mork Dantini does so it APPEARS he doing the right thing..How many times have weve seen this act?
They'll also be playing at home, and as we all know, this is their Super Bowl. Even if they wet the bed against a Rutgers or a Maryland this Fall, they will show up and play like contenders when they play us.

So how come we don't do the same thing against Ohio State?
I'm sure OSU realized after watching the IU game that they could pummel us with their run game all day and we wouldn't be able to stop them.

Article link says neither was a projected starter for this year so which is it, was the Evans guy an All Big Ten d-lineman or a backup?
Strangely, the article says both. I couldn't figure it out either.
They must not have been playmakers.
They don't call Mark Dantonio the "Dean of Discipline" for nothing. He will not abide with players* violating team rules.
*I.e., non-starting players.

I'm a little lost on this. Did Dantoni kick them off or did they leave? Seems most articles say they left for personal reasons. To me this leaves Mike room to bring them back as it's not a definitive expulsion. Or am I reading all of this wrong?
Neither will be back, they used up their chances to get back in good graces with the program.
When Dantinio is willing to go to a prison to pick a guy up from jail on Saturday morning to play in the afternoon I question if there is really such a limit as "Good graces with the program"

This was planned attrition, not a huge loss.

They still cutting people to land Josh Jackson?
Interesting reading the comments on the article.
If Harbaugh had two players leave the team in this sort of veiled circumstance, those self-same Sparty fans would be screaming about how dirty he is, driving players off the team. But because Mike D'Antoni is doing it, he's the greatest disciplinarian of this or any generation who doesn't let his team get away with anything.

Here is a quote from 247 on what to watch for in MSU's Spring Game:
On the defensive side, Malik McDowell will be the anchor, but the other three spots were vacated by seniors. Will Montez Sweat get his act together and be an answer at defensive end? Craig Evans appears set to take the second inside spot. And then can Demetrius Cooper break out as a junior at defensive end? That would be a very athletic four-man group for the Spartans.
Apparently, 247 was under the impression that those two guys would have been potential starters.

They probably just got tired of dealing with those torturous bus rides that MSU is famous for. I know that would make me quit. There and back, there and back, there's only so much you can ask of a student athlete.
We spent two hours on the bus going back and forth, two different times, for media day. There and back, half hour, half hour, go back to the hotel, meetings, there and back, half hour, half hour, you know, the luncheon, day before the game was a two-hour ordeal, back and forth.

foul faced prick in coaching. I am soo looking forward to his demise. Of course he will blame injuries, or thin roster, or some shit. His own health will be used in the future when he steps away from a diminished program, ala Meyer
how many years now are we running on his inevitable demise?

does not cause any disrespekt.

but it is why it is so important to make sure you have kids on your team that aren't thugs. Can't say for sure they were but they seemed to have disciplinary problems.
With no Sweat their DL is really going to feel the heat next season.
Evans was a loss too.
