NJ WR Bo Melton Takes Jab at Coach Harbaugh After Committing to Rutgers

Submitted by FauxMo on

After committing to Rutgers over a bunch of other schools, he posted a pic on Twitter of him on a fictional magazine cover with the caption: "Message to Michigan: Sorry Coach Harbaugh, I don't follow, I lead."

I wonder if Coach Harbaugh will ever be able to recover from this kind of verbal assault from an 18 year old who has chosen to win 9 games total over his 4 year college career at the worst team in the Big Ten?

That is kind of funny, but I'm not sure I understand the vitriol in some of the comments. The kid's excited to play D1 football for his home school and talks a little smack. Good for him. IIRC, LTT burned an OSU letter on Instagram a few years back. All in good fun.

Two years ago I knowingly slept with a Rutgers grad, a nice-looking young. o.k. a decent look middle aged woman with two kids and I didn't tell her or this board, the first college credits I ever received were from Rutgers during my final eights months in the U.S. Army while stationed in Newark, NJ. See, he's not so bad. And damn, do I feel better. And remember, I was but a 20 year old lad,  but only 2 years older than these men, just back from the jungle. Pressure was on me. The marijuana intense. Any of you would have, could have, might have.

After reading this post, I don't know why I ever felt my loyalty would be judged, my decisions questioned. Go Blue!!!!!!!

Well son, I hope that when you lead your team off the field after a tremendous ass pounding you might look back on this day and think.. "Shoulda clapped the trap".

Rutgers, sit down. We need to talk. Congratulations on landing a big recruit. We get that it's special. I mean, not really, because Michigan football has been one of the premier programs in the country for about 100 years and we've landed a ton of big recruits. You? Well, the less said about that...

What's that? You played in the first college football game ever. Wow. That's really impressive.

Here's the thing. Everybody is really trying to be nice to you, but the truth is we don't want you in the B1G. We never did. The person who runs this conference decided a few extra million cable subscribers was worth adding you to the conference. Then, it was scandal after scandal...

Yes, you beat us two years ago. We weren't doing so hot at the time. We're better now.

And, yes, you reside in a pretty fertile recruiting ground. It's like living on top of a big oil deposit. Only you're Rutgers, so you're trying to get it at with a teaspoon. We've got a drill. We're going to end up with 4-5 of the top 7 prospects in the state. You're going to get 1. This is fine. Hang on to that one guy and cherish him.

We don't want to hate you. We already hate so many people. Ohio State. Michigan State. Notre Dame... and we don't even play them anymore. Illinois hates us for some reason. Oh, and Minnesota, but that's not hate, more like a friendly rivalry.

No, Rutgers, you can't be our "Minnesota". We already have a Minnesota.

Just shoot for a couple of seasons with a winning record. It'd be cool if you beat Ohio State once or twice. We might like you more after that.

You know who needs a rival? Maryland. That's totally something you guys could do. Create a trophy. The I-95 trophy or something. It could be a big interstate. Haha. Come on. That'd be fun.

Again, congrats. We're all really proud of you.

I mean, it seems like all the guys who are coming to Michigan from NJ are friends and support each other and stay in touch. Maybe that group (Gary, Jabrill, Hawkins, Johnson, Walker, etc.) just doesn't like this kid or he's in a different group of friends. Seems like something that could very well have come out of high school high profile clique drama. Or his parents are alums and they raised him to love RU but never mentioned to not pick a fight he couldn't finish. That seems likely also.

After looking at that 2016 schedule, they'll be fortunate to win five games.  There will likely not be a good on-field product to sell.  Either way, I don't mind losing a kid to a program that should not beat us as opposed to OSU, MSU or PSU.
