I dont think Harbaughs problem with Swenson was talent necessarily. A large part of what Harbaugh didnt like was the way he worked. Harbaugh wants kids that bust thier ass every day to get better. Remember the story about the winning side in a drill getting to run because winners own the right to get better. Swenson may not fit that culture. By all accounts he skated through his senior year.

Will be very interested to see how Swenson and Weaver do in the next 4 years since they both got multiple D1 offers after decommitting.

"Michigan decommit verbals to playoff team" doesn't quite have the same ring to it as "High school superstar offensive lineman has scholarship pulled by big bad Jim Harbaugh with no heads up or time to commit anywhere good, and all for for no reason at all. None whatsoever."

Still a spoiled baby though. On a better note I just watched a video of a man amongst boys. The first time I've checked out Connor Murphy's video. I give him the nod of being more all around athletic than the Bosa brothers. The older one when he was that age of coarse. Hope they get him. Son of biznatch! He's the smack pappy.

I know it's totally forbidden to ever question Harbaugh on here, but I'm going to do it. With Hamilton decomitting today, this Swenson thing looks like a debacle. If Swenson had ended up going to a Mac school I wouldn't feel so bad.

It's the worst of both worlds, harbaugh strung him too long and we got all the negative pr. And turns out we probably could have used him. Is it partly the kids fault for not camping, etc? Sure. Doesn't make me feel any better about the hole looming at tackle in a couple years. Do they find a way to fill it? Maybe. Just not looking great right now.

Again  .....he chose NOT to work. Not to come to camp and compete and didn't improve his senior year (progress).  They told him to get it going and he didn't.  I'm not sad at all.

JH wants competitors not slackers.  I'm good with that.

Spanellis (current commit)  looked as good and was certianly more aggressive on film.

I say we are doing alright and who knows what Wed has in store.   =)

And we let Swenson go. What is the logic? Success begins and ends with the Offensive Line. You can recruit all the glamor boys but if they have no blocking nothing happens. And we failed here. Oklahoma ain't a bad gig. Interested to see what is next.

If they didn't think Swenson was good enough to contribute no reason to bring him in and waste a scholly for 3-4 years until he transfers.  Coaches like a lot of elite OTs in 2017 and that seems to be where they will make up for the lack of OT recruits in 2016.

Swenson didn't improve his senior year.  They told him to get moving and get on the ball.

They asked him to come to camp and compete and he refused. PERIOD !

He didn't want to work.  And from the one picture I did see of him it looked like he was NEVER in the weight room.  His arms were probably the smallest I have ever seen on a lineman.  I mean it's like he had NO biceps or triceps.  Could of been bad pic but I just didn't see the beefy look of a lineman.

I can pretty much gaurantee from the film I saw if you lined up Spanellis (commit) and Swenson in a one on one competition Spanellis would wipe him out.    That's the logic. Swenson didn't do what he needed to do and wasn't a fit.

We are fine .... I am sure something is in the fire plus we have some PWO's.  You just never know when a walk on or two will be a huge surprise.

JH and his staff KNOW how to coach.    They got this.   Sheeeeeesh

This.

I am so sick and tired of people saying "Ah ha! We shouldn't have let Swenson go! See what happened" The kid played like a 2 star, 3 at best and that was pushing it. He refused to comply to the coaches' wishes and skated his way through his senior season.

People need to let Swenson go and trust the process.
