Me: I must be crazy. This can't be real. Voices: Your logic is faulty. If you were 0% crazy, you'd be sure of reality. If you were 100% crazy you'd be equally sure that your perceptions were real. Only at your current state of half crazy do you doubt what you see. Me: No fair. If I take you back to the pilots' lounge and dance with you again, will you stop picking at flaws in my logic? Voices: Sure, that was my goal all along.

Dodged a bullet with this kid.

Honestly, when a kid says "I need to do what's best to "provide" for my family," then red flags should go up. How does one "provide" for their family by going to school? I feel for any kid who is under that much pressure from their family. I didn't grow up with means, but when I was 18 it was about leaving home to provide for myself, not for my family. Now as a grown man it's about providing for my family (the one I created).

I feel like we should start keeping track of these kids who end up flip-flopping so much during their recruitments. I swear none of them ever end up doing anything good in college and end up transferring somewhere else after a year or so. Bets on Elliot transferring someplace else sometime after next season?

No one should be surprised nor hold it against the kid. Its well within his rights to go wherever he thinks is best for him.

The system doesn't cause this. However, it does allow it and I guess that is my point. This particular situation is obviously an exagerated version of what goes on all over. I do agree that this falls into the "where is the guidance from a highschool coach, parent, mentor? or take some responsibility" catagory.

Better off without him. He's proven that he's too flakey. The scholarship will be better used on someone else.

I rarely, if ever, have said something negative about a recruit; they are truly still kids, and I recognize that. That said, this kid is showing a character deficiency and I'm glad he's no longer part of the class. I wish him well and hope he matures. Just go do it at Texas.

if Charlie Strong and some of his players pulled a Clippers-DeAndre Jordan-Mavs thing on the eve of signing day.  They go to his house, hide his cell, and when other coaches show up at the front door, Charlie Strong keeps yelling, "No one's home, come back later."
