Jabrill Injury Rumor?
TIFWIW- Friend of mine who is an alum just sent me a text saying that his relative treated Jabrill Peppers at an Ann Arbor hospital after he punched glass and tore a ligament in his arm/wrist. Apparently out for the bowl game. Still nothing being reported, but just thought I'd pass it along. Apparently he has been seen in a cast around campus.
This is a rumor on Penn State's 247 site. Has anyone heard anything about this?

Yes, and it's a serious crime. While I was employed at a local hospital in LA a worker at UCLA medical center was prosecuted successfully for accessing the medical records of celebrities that had received services at the hospital. If this is true this person should be fired and prosecuted.
It's probably just a rumor. Because someone employed by a hospital would have to be remarkably stupid to pass that info around. In LA I met several celebrities at the hospital I worked at (nothing salacious, I admitted for Labor & Delivery, various actresses or spouses of actors had kids) that I still have not told my wife about. You just don't do it.

Riiight. No one would even investigate it, they have better things to do.

And I thought that was having an iPhone that's too old or last year's kicks... so now making Hippa Violations is an actual legal offense?!

since HITECH though, HIPAA has more teeth.
It's civil and criminal, depending. If an employee of a covered entity knowingly breaches the privacy rule, the covered entity (hospital) is on the hook for the employee's actions. The employee will have some disciplinary action since all hospital employees receive HIPAA training.

This would be less than ideal, if true.

So the upshot of this report is that the psu 247 guy is more keyed in to what's happening with our players than the guys who actually cover Michigan - OR the M beat guys know and aren't saying anything until JH does?
I guess the Sam & Steve type guys might hold onto info until Coach says it's ok, but hard to believe the "journalists" would...
We'll see I guess... hope it's a lot of BS.
Fortunately there shouldn't be a huge need for him on D vs a stagnant O like Fla; but we sure might need his dynamism on O vs their very quick, solid D!!

The holding information comment brings to mind Brian's recent post on media access. The recruiting sites run a business model almost completely dependent on access to coaching staff/program. Just in the hypothetical scenario where the rumor is true, and Harbaugh made a cover story at bust for strategic reasons, then the recruiting sites would be wise to hold the information until given the go ahead by Harbaugh.
Information getting out ---> better Florida gameplan ----> Florida chance of winning increasing ----> pissed Harbaugh ----> less trust/access.

I don't know if he has to miss the bowl game. But multiple folks are saying he's injured.
Sigh, not smart...huge blow.

Are you freaking kidding me??? Confirmed he is out for the Bowl game too? How about surgery? WTF? And he really did it by punching glass?
December 10th, 2015 at 1:19 PM ^
Definitely hurt himself punching a glass window, bowl game status unknown
December 10th, 2015 at 1:03 PM ^
Is it true or not, I just hope he's alright and can play in the bowl.

At least the cast has been confirmed by the Daily, it seems. Nothing about why though.
No sign of Jabrill Peppers yet at the Bust. The Daily saw his hand in a soft cast yesterday, several other UM students have confirmed it.

made of fiberglass or similar as opposed to plaster.

I hope it's not made out of glass or he might accidentally punch it.

Good on ya

He didn't do it on purpose because of a woman.
Not that I ever did something similar at that age. And by similar I mean exactly the same.
December 10th, 2015 at 2:00 PM ^
I definitely punched through a thing or two because of a women at that age as well. Better than punching the woman.
I also had one of my Basketball players tear a ligament in his index finger last year and he never got full control of it back after surgery (luckily it was his off hand). I hope Jabril's situation is less serious. He probably has a better surgeon.

He can probably throw left handed so we can still slot him in for 3rd string QB.
