Both Harbaugh-coached teams win 29-26

I thought the 29-26 score which brought the jug back to Ann Arbor was unusual. A quick scan of Michigan historical scores indicates yesterday's game was the first for the wolverines with that score. Then, less than 24 hours later, John Harbaugh's Baltimore Ravens defeat the San Diego Chargers by the same score; but with a late tie-breaking FG, no goal line stand. Go Blue!

It is way easier to watch the NFL once you rid yourself of all love for the Lions. I officially renounced them in 2005. Sundays are way better for me now. I will never, ever take them back under Ford ownership. Football season is way better. Believe it.

Living in Michigan, it is very hard to do that. Wherever you turn, there is a Lions fan, a sad Lions fan. Wish I can, but I don't think I can do that. They ruin my Sundays for sure. I no longer can watch Sunday games and have to change the channel every time there is a highlight of Lions. Heartache man. Heart ache.

So glad Michigan is in the upswing.

I don't get upset either. I am used to it. The one thing I can do is never buy Ford. That is my contribution to the Lions Fandom.

Edit: Another thing. I don't listen to the local radio shows on Mondays, as they will be griping about Lions all day. Those are the two changes I made for years so I don't have to be upset about Lions. Just wish we had a few good years in my lifetime.

I actually listened to the postgame show today (mostly because I wanted to hear if people are still upset) and it felt like 2008 all over again. Call after call... "it starts at the top" "Fords should sell the team" "until people stop going to games, nothing will change" etc.

were awful from 1948-2009 under the Bidwells. if the Bidwells can eventually field a consistently good team so can the Fords.

Plus, they do have Henry Ford's DNA. Surely his genius will eventually reveal itself again.

Okay, probably not.  But what else are fans to do? I don't go to games so I don't directly support the bullshit we see. But I do love football and the Lions are the only game in town. Cheering for Brady and the Pats doesn't generate quite the same passion as the Lions do.

Look at it this way.  This year we only had hope for the Lions for 3-7 games depending on your degree of blindness. Last year, we were sucked along for the entire season.  Also, Bill Ford was wise enough to bring in Alan Mulally when he knew FMC needed fixing.  He has a vote on what the Lions do next.  There is hope he convinces all the other Fords to find a football Mulally.
