Logan Tuley-Tillman Dismissed From Team
According to a very brief release from the athletic department, redshirt sophomore offensive tackle Logan Tuley-Tillman is no longer a member of the football program.
Statement from Jim Harbaugh, J. Ira and Nicki Harris Family Head Football Coach:“Logan Tuley-Tillman has been dismissed from the football team for conduct unacceptable for a Michigan student athlete."
Tuley-Tillman saw some action as a sixth lineman in the Utah game, so something must have transpired since then. His departure means Michigan's depth on the line is worrisome both this year and moving forward. Unless a guard slides out to tackle, the only backup tackles are now freshmen: redshirt freshman Juwann Bushell-Beatty and true freshmen Grant Newsome and Nolan Ulizio. Graham Glasgow and Ben Braden could each move to right tackle, allowing David Dawson or Patrick Kugler (when he's healthy) to slide into the lineup if need be. Michigan can stand pat for now, but if there's an injury on the line things get dicey in a hurry.
Expect Michigan to make a big push for another tackle in the 2016 class. Meanwhile, the heralded 2013 O-line haul is looking like a disaster. Kugler and Dawson still have plenty of time to contribute, but Chris Fox's career is over due to medical issues, Kyle Bosch transferred to West Virginia, Dan Samuelsen couldn't crack the two-deep and transferred, and now Tuley-Tillman is off the team.

RIP to the 2013 OL class. Only Dawson and Kugler left (sad face).

Let's just hope these guys both "Hit" otherwise we are really screwed come 2017. The 2013 class was so big it caused a slowdown in OL recruiting the two classes after it. Makes one think a constant level of 4 a year +/- 1 is a rule that should never be broken.

AHHHHH over on the 247 page posted this picture. Could be why he was booted. Not sure though.

No way standing around in that picture is grounds for dismissal

You're probably right, but 4 of the other 5 guys in this picture were busted for firearm possession a couple weeks ago so I think there's a good chance whatever trouble LTT got into involved this group of winners.

this "music" video (NSFW):
Mildly interesting story- I had never heard of this Montana idiot until this morning when I came across his name while looking up Jabrill Pepper's rap vids on youtube. Jabrill goes by J-Reall, Montana raps with a guy going by J Real. LTT is in multiple Montana of 300 videos. LTT should have left those losers behind.

Just being in the video wouldn't be enough to get him off the team. It's probably enough for him to have done some punishment conditioning. Besides the video has been out for awhile and he wouldn't have traveled to SLC if that was the issue.
He was likely warned about this and may have had a shorter rope as a result, though.

They were probably at the range plinking 9mm. LTT is just waiting his turn in the back.

What happened to Bosch. Came to Harbaugh's office said I'm here to play. Harbaugh said no thanks and Bosch went to WVU. Seems strange considering we need OL depth. There must be something we don't know.
September 10th, 2015 at 3:18 PM ^
Read BLL. He's never mentioned by name, but, um, I'm pretty sure there's some behind the scene stories that I'm pretty sure involve Bosch as told by Hagerup if you use some deductive reasoning.

I wondered who "Burger" was in Bacon's book - makes sense.
September 10th, 2015 at 3:51 PM ^
He was the only one I'm aware of who left the team mid season for personal reasons.
This makes me question even more if what happened with LTT was as serious as most of us think. It may be but Harbaugh is trying to instill discipline and partying may not be part of it.
When you read about Lewan and Glasgow with their issues and "Burger" in BLL, you start wondering if Hoke was too much of a nice guy or not paying attention. I drank in college but these are some pretty serious drinking problems coming out. Maybe we are seeing why the line has underperformed.
I'm not indicating that LTT was drinking. Only addressing overall discipline.
September 10th, 2015 at 3:55 PM ^
I seriously doubt this was just a drinking incident.
Jim has plenty of personal experience with drinking issues. No way he straight up boots a guy off the squad for ONLY that.
Now it may turn out that alcohol was involved in whatever happened. But it's a very safe bet that whatever it was, it was very serious. Jim has been around the block ... publicly canning a veteran player and explaining it with "conduct unbecoming" ... that's smoke from a very significant fire.
September 10th, 2015 at 4:00 PM ^
I said there apparently were some major discipline problems and it may be more about Harbaugh trying to instill discipline than being a crime as some are indicating. We have no idea what Harbaugh will do as far as discipline.

What happened to Bosch. Came to Harbaugh's office said I'm here to play. Harbaugh said you can come back to the team but you have to follow my rules, Bosch said no thanks and went to WVU.

started reading mgoblog right around the time of the recruiting hype surrounding this offensive line class's recruitment. bummer to see it falling apart.
September 10th, 2015 at 3:15 PM ^
Something must have just happened. He just played last week.
September 10th, 2015 at 3:21 PM ^
... Something may have happened previously that is just now resolved, and it didn't resolve favorably for LTT. taking a wait and see approach. Bummer for him.
September 10th, 2015 at 3:25 PM ^
Unlikely it was prior to the Utah game as he wouldn't have traveled with the team if this outcome was a posibility.

Per the Twitter, for that 2013 OL recruiting class, some notable 'passes' from the coaching staff include:
Ethan Poccic, starter at center and gaurd since his true sophomore season at LSU
Dan Skipper, starter at gaurd as sophomore now starting LT at Arkansas
Cameron Hunt, starter last year and this year as gaurd for Oregon.
Yep, that 2013 OL class worked out juuuuusssttt fine.
September 10th, 2015 at 3:19 PM ^
there's no guarantee (and evidence from other positions that it would be unlikely) that those other players would have panned out here.
September 10th, 2015 at 3:25 PM ^
True, but off field issues for two (Bosch, seemingly LTT) and injuries (Fox) de-railed three of the four. Meanwhile three notable passes have had none of those derail their playing at other schools. I'm guessing it wasn't UM that caused those off field issues and injuries. Also, Samuleson just couldn't crack the two-deep on a not so great UM line. Meanwhile all three of those guys I've mentioned are now at least two year starters on pretty damn good OLs.
September 10th, 2015 at 4:24 PM ^
Our linemen from that class were offered by nearly every blue chip program in the country. This is all about development. Those "passes" wouldn't be the players they are today had they come to Michigan under Hoke.
September 10th, 2015 at 3:25 PM ^
Steve Elmer is a starter for ND right now too.
September 10th, 2015 at 3:26 PM ^
Yeah, but he straight up chose ND. UM would have taken him as well. The three guys I mentioned were passed over for basically Samuleson.
September 10th, 2015 at 3:31 PM ^
He wasn't exactly chosen over Pocic. He was a late-ish add when the view on OL numbers had changed (increased)... the Pocic ship had long sailed at that point.
Samuelson was glad to trade up. Pocic was in a different boat than that.
Now you can argue Pocic vs Bosch for sure. That was the real decision at hand at the time.
September 10th, 2015 at 4:06 PM ^
You're right. Samuelson commited three weeks before signing day.
September 10th, 2015 at 4:30 PM ^
for anyone. The staff let recruits know there were taking 5 OL. Bosch and the others committed before Pocic was ready to decide. They were all plan A recruits. I don't think turning one down to wait on another was a realistic option.
You're right about Samuelson. I don't think any of us know for sure if Skipper or Hunt would have come here if he didn't. Hunt came in on a visit, but wanted to take more trips. He had a chance to commit first.
