Wolverines Are 5th Most Popular Bet at Vegas Superbook to Win the National Championship
Interesting. It might be because UM has such bad odds (and Harbaugh of course). Alternatively, we might just have a huge delusional alumni base. The Wolverines have also received the 5th most overall bets placed at Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook.
I'm sure Vegas is thrilled to be getting all that action on Michigan. I understand it's possible that Michigan could win it all, but it is extremely unlikely. I will not be making that bet.

Yeah, but they only rake the winnings, so you don't mind as much. Take a couple bucks off a $500 pot, sure!

Up yours Vegas!
I just noticed that Cameron isn't actually giving the finger... pointless!

I think only PSU has more living alumni than us. Plus people know what Harbaugh has done in previous stops. If we win the B1G this year that means wins over likely top 10 teams, maybe top 5 teams in OSU and MSU. It's not crazy if we have good QB play.

Great motivator. Won't be hard to get the team's focus for the opener...
Michgian has a good track record as a road dog.
Yeah, but what's our track record as a road dog with a new coaching staff with a squad coming off a sub-.500 season? I'm actually pretty optimistic about our chances overall this season, but if we're going to have a disappointing effort this season, it will be this game.

As bad as we sucked, we had our way with them.

I don't think he ever said they were more delusional than us. He just said delusional fanbases clearly plays into this, which is pretty much an undeniable fact.

Wolvernies?
Umm... The Universities mascot?
Interesting. I did not know there was another way to spell Wolverines.

If Vegas had Michigan at 10-1, it would be crazy. If Vegas had Michigan at 5000-1, they would rightly be the most popular bet.
People making this bet don't expect to win. They just believe that the expected return is positive.

It's the 5th most bets, not necessarily the 5th highest amount of money being bet. If 500,000 folks dropped a buck on Michigan to win it all, just for kicks, then that could hardly be called "pissing money away".

I believe the Cubs are always the most bet on team to win the world series too every year. This means nothing.

I made the bet at +4000. Other teams with the same odds were Stanford, Ole Miss, A&M and UCLA.

A&M should've never left the Big 12.
August 2nd, 2015 at 10:38 PM ^
They have benefited big time by leaving. Take a look at their recruiting and the money they receieve from the SEC Network (probably helped upgrade their stadium, which is now 4th largest in the nation). Big 12 has become a joke since A&M and Nebraska left.

A&M is a little like Sparty in that they have the douchier fans, less history, and a massive inferiority complex with Texas. With the move to the SEC, they can get out of Texas' shadow.
True. Sparty should move there as well.
G'bye.
