OT: What else can Hackett do as AD?
I was thinking that everything Jim Hackett has done since taking the job is just unbelievable. He has done just about everything we fans, students, and alumni have wanted and needed. Is there anything else he can do while he is at the healm?
The only thing I could think of was maybe find a way to bring back Michigan Replay, although maybe that might be something that is out of his power.
Just like in 2002 when it was Bo Schembechler bobble head giveaway at the Ohio State game...have a Jim Harbaugh bobble head day?
The 2002 Ohio State game was in Columbus
1) NOTRE DAME
2) Keep maize pom poms as free handouts (widespread, for students and non-students alike) during approximately 2 marquee games each year.
3) Not lie to us about night games.
He's currently at an A- grade for me.
Would be A+, if not for #3 above. I'm still skeptical that it wasn't possible for MSU. However, even if it really wasn't (and then why wasn't BYU an option?), the multiple public statements indicating there would be at least one night game and then back tracking in an indirect one sentence statement at the end of a press release about an away night game really was not in good taste.
But it's Hackett so I can shrug it off. If Brandon had done that, I would have protested again.
Turn Water in to Wine.
Run for President.
Bring back ND.
Fix Google Glass.
Hackett has No Limits.

Sh*t no. I believe saying something like that would get your ass kicked...
The video board monstrosity on Stadium Blvd. Bring back: Mel Pearson. Get rid of: the Student Only gate at at Greene and Keech. Bring Back: Temptation and the Hawaiian War Chant.
But if you leave after the game to get home, or aren't at Homecoming, its not enough. So, Moar Temptation and Hawiian War Chant. Also, that line was an analog, or code for Moar MMBand period.
Get that maize color correct and don't let Jordan AND Blanchard leave before JB retires. That's it. For now.
Retractable roof, reclining seats, reduce ticket prices by another 50%, free livestreaming.
Do I detect a "Field of Dreams" reference in your comment?

With respect to the schedules for
Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, and Michigan State
The only game that got flipped from that group of teams was our game against Michigan State.
For whatever reason, we played Minnesota and Indiana home twice in a row.
Michigan usually played Penn State and Ohio State home in odd years, away at Michigan State
Penn State played road games Michigan and Ohio State, home Michigan State
Ohio State played road games Michigan and Penn State, home Michigan State
Michigan State played home against Michigan in odd years, away Ohio State and Penn State
Michigan vs Penn State series
Michigan Home in even years. The old scheduling had teams come off the schedule for 2 years. So Michigan played Home in 2002 and then again in 2005. So the series flipped.
Penn State was home against us in 2010, two year break, and home again against us in 2013 - the series corrected itself back to the usual years. (Michigan home-even years, Michigan away even years.
The only game that is out of whack from what the traditional Big Ten schedule is our game versus Michigan State.
So why exactly did this happen? We play Minnesota and Indiana home twice in a row for what reason?
So basically everyone else stayed on the same track except our series vs Michigan State.
The only way to correct it is two home games in a row.
This basically boils down to Brandon being a complete imbecile and likely getting schooled in negotiations, again (like the Notre Dame series).
There is really no way this happens without complete incompetence.

The schedules need to have 3 home/3 away versus division opponents. That wasn't possible last year without changing the rotation of some games.
Ride this wave of positive momentum into a long career and retire fat, rich and loved by all Michigan fans.
Mel Pearson and a flaming bag of poo on Dantonio's doorstep would be a mic drop moment for me, personally.
He did do ONE good thing..scheduling Arkansas, Texas, Washington, UCLA and Oklahoma for future...but thats about it

We still have a number of things to fix, but once that's done, let's do away with this "if it ain't broke, fuck with it" mindset.
Inactivity is a bad thing during a crisis, but neither do you want change for change's sake. You know how to tell when an organization is running smoothly? When the guy at the top legitimately doesn't have much to do. I think Hackett will get us there quickly, at which point I hope he has the smarts to take his foot off the throttle.
Fix the Hockey program. Red will retire at the end of the season and a new coach (maybe Pearson)must be found who will reenergize the program and return the team to elite status. The new coach and AD also have to develop a better schedule. The home schedule this year is awful.
I want to say that Hackett has already done the single most important thing, and that is helping to lay down the foundation for what should hopefully be some great times ahead, and not just for football necessarily. More broadly than football (though the Harbaugh hire should not and will never be overlooked in terms of its importance), he has helped to reform the culture of the athletic department, giving it a considered and logical direction. Most anything Hackett does from here seems like it would be a bonus.

This and remove the piped in noise and obnoxiously loud music. It's the marching band's job to provide the music.

Make all games home games!
1. I miss the bubble "Michigan Stadium" letters that used to be on top of the press box.
2. I also kind of miss those free programs people would pass out before the game. They often had drawings/paintings of UM players on the cover.

Make all games are broadcast via over the air networks vs having to have a subscription to BTN or FSN!
Closing in the end zones around the South first and then the North.

I didn't know that. Citation?
Also, there is a huge question in my mind about whether this would be a good idea. Remember, Michigan barely sold 80,000 tickets per game last year--they had to give away 10K plus to most games just to ensure the attendance stayed above 100,000, and the aesthetics on television were awful as a result, plus the perception that tickets were available for essentially nothing is a self-perpetuating situation.
Sure, they're at 90,000 season tickets for this season, but who knows what the future will bring, and adding 10,000-20,000 seats to the stadium might end up being a terrible decision; you don't want to add a huge section of seats that will only be full when Michigan is good or playing a big opponent.
EDIT: or by "closing the end zone," do you simply mean adding more luxury boxes to the stadium? I guess I assumed that you meant more bleachers, but I see you didn't say that.
