1. Joe Bolden looks good.

2. Secondary looks good, outside of the TD ( over Norfleet) and a few plays to Darboh.

3. Darboh  ...................................................... then ????

4. Morris  looked good

Only concern for me moving forward: WR & QB

The team needs work, but it's only Spring. Excellent defense all around. On offense, I liked Shallman, Smith, and Butt. Someone from the WR crew needs to step up and be a threat. QB = meh.

In the defense of the QBs, both would have looked much better if the receivers didn't drop so many balls. Each QB made a couple of VERY NICE THROWS that went right through the hands of the receivers (one that comes to mind is the drop by Winovich at the beginning of the first quarter).

I thought that while none of the WR's seemed fast when recruited, they'd at least be guys with good hands who could make some tough catches. But man, there must have been 6-7+ drops today. Without drops I feel like Morris would have completed above 60%. Malzone's arm stength didn't look great. A couple throws took a loooong time to get there, especially to the wide side. Nice poise from him though, and decent accuracy. The defense looked stout, but as mentioned already, was it the defense being good or the offense not so good? There's some opportunity for young guys and new guys (Higdon, Isaac, Rudock) To make an impact.

Just as much as Rich Rod was obsessed with short WRs aka slot dots.

I'd like to think there is a middle ground. We have no speed at the position and I think Drake Harris was the exception.

How did Brian Cole look?

We need speed at that position because right now we have a bunch of skinny TEs.

I think either of the QBs will be fine by September.

Interesting that Speight didn't get any snaps.  I assume that this is part of Harbaugh's competition plan.  You compete everyday and earn your snaps.

The team, as a whole, still has a long way to go.  But, this is as expected at this point.

Yea!  We got two committs already this weekend.

Any news on Taco and Mario?  I've heard rumors that this is potentially a suspenstion thing, rather than an injury thing.  Any truth to that?  Did anybody see them out there today on the sidelines?

Given all the talent at corner, moving him there always seemed odd. I guess unless they want to play him as a nickel against slot guys, where his quickness would be more of an asset. But the way the WRs looked I think he needs to be getting a lot of reps there - hopefully someone will break out, might as well be him.

WR group need to work on securing the catch. They looked like MSU circa 2012. Shane looked decent. He still throws 90 MPH strikes on plays where a 60 MPH provides the best chance of a completion. He's now had 3 different coordinators and no one has been able to coach that habit out of him. Malzone looked lost at times but made a few nice throws. On a couple plays he showed a stronger arm than I thought he had. I can't put too high of expectations on a guy who's still trying to figure out where his dorm is. I look forward too see how he progresses by end of summer. But thank goodness for Jake Rudock. Deveon Smith looks like the real deal. Shallman looks like he could contribute this year.

Really? I thought Malzone's arm looked weaker than expected. That bubble should have been taken the other way by Lewis. It took forever to get there, as did a couple others. He's going to struggle making throws to the wide side at this level.

My thoughts:

*Morris is the best QB, followed by Malzone.
*Darboh looks good but the other WRs look terrible.
*Thought Shallman and Smith looked decent, but Green looked terrible.
*Butt/Bunting combo looks very promising.
*OL play uneven.
*Defense generally looks good.
*Marshall could have a breakout year.
