When I went to the camp, they played a video with that as the message. Was pretty neat. During Hoke's first year

It's actually an interesting metaphor. Most of the energy when you heat something is used in the last degree, when you actually complete the phase transition (like from liquid to gas). It's pretty easy to get water to 211 degrees, but takes a lot to get it to boil.
And if you watch it, it will never boil.
January 24th, 2015 at 6:39 PM ^
boiling is when the vapor pressure is equivalent to the external, so at 211 you still have a substantial amount of steam produced from the water. It'd fit the metaphor they're going for if they specified a quantum leap between electronic states and had two different frequencies of light that were close but one was insufficient.

I do like the quantum state reference and think Michigan football should make the leap, particularly if the observed state is a win!

well beyond that temperature you can light stuff on fire with it. Matches are easy to ignite and flash cotton as well. I've gotten paper to scorch but never fully catch so far.

I am all for motivation but it has to come from within and as a manager you need to find the key things in each of your employees that motivates them and key on that. There are so many of these vids out there that it not only becomes redundant but eventually counter productive imo. I use to joke that you need to also understand that at 212 degrees, you also can get severly burned. It also doesn't help, as I have witnessed, when you have a managment team that shows you the video and talks about putting out a great effort and then goes out and underminds you. So it is why I tend to view these cliched and formulaic sales/motivation programs with a tinge of cynism.

as a sales guy ive heard the 212 many times. I guess i was hoping for something i hadnt heard a million times. Im sure Jimbo will make it work though.
