Carl makes several mistakes each and every game/ Some are just misspeaks and I let them slide, but to say he is a pro is a bit of a stretch. A pro would not routinely mispronounce the same players names that have been on the team for a year or more. Nor would a pro mistake Denard for Navarre like he did 3 seasons ago after a play where Denard completed a pass. Nor would he say "Henne" after a player wearing #7 completed a pass in 2014. He may be a treasure for those who appreciate his contributions to music and production, but as a stadium announcer, he is amongst the worst I have heard in the big ten aside from the slappy who does his job in Iowa City. It's time for a change in that regard. And I will use literally as Much as I want... I'm a man... I'm 42!
Ouch, lots of snark about the broadcasting Especially considering that Carl Grapentine routinely makes 5-6 glaring errors every single game and he literally is an employee of the program who should know that John Navarre and Denard Robinson are two very different looking quarterbacks despite both wearing #16 and playing in different decades. You want to complain... Start with Carl.
A Hackett question for the board He has done a fine hobos far as AD, but as another poster stated in another thread, he did everything that most of us would have done... No real miracles. That said, many, many people from the west side of the state have very little positive to say about him as an executive at Steelcase. What gives?
Omg that's funny Next joke please Mr Seinfeld.
... And stairs! -Dennis Leary
Troll baiting WD, but I'll bite... No, everyone knows that Michigan Spring Football is played at noon on Saturday. Bo would roll in her s grave, blah blah blah, I can't get any chores done around my house for 3:30 games, blah blah blah, night games are too late for me to stay up, blah blah blah, it's too cold in the Midwest in April at night, blah blah blah. Did I miss any whiny excuses for proponents of the dreaded noon games? Ok good, the later the better so I can tailgate and enjoy a full day capped with re main event... Michigan football.
I guess I don't get all the "screw ESPN" stuff The network has done more to provide entertainment and coverage to sports than any other media source has. In addition, they helped to generate the revenues that allow for bigger and better stadiums, more competitive balance amongst smaller programs (ATM, Baylor, Bouse State, etc) that would not have gotten such publicity otherwise. All in all, they have enhanced my enjoyment of sports across the spectrum. That have some really horrible hosts and analysts just as every other channel does, but all in all, that do a pretty good job. Someone explain to me the resentment for ESPN. PLEASE!
I have a 20oz coke bottle And a box of Macaroni and Cheese signed by Dave Brandon. I'm not sure why he signed these items, or the significance of them. I keep them in an old Dominos box with my Lloyd Carr singed book about "Leadership".
I have a teal autographed authentic Grant Hill Pistons Jersey with the tags still on it. I also have a bloodied Isotoner signed by OJ. I think I hate the jersey slightly less.
I think Treach said it best... It's the longest, loveliest, lean... I call it the leanest....
I'm still snickering at ... "I for one, thoroughly enjoy consuming fossil fuels".
Just picked up my second Cadillac CTS VSport I got my first one, a 2014 last March and after 38,000 miles, some lady decided it was a smart move to pull out in front of me while I was doing 50mph. Needless to say, I wasn't keen on keeping that car after the entire front end suspension was replaced by insurance. So I gave it back to GM and got the 2015 replica. Same color inside and out. Same amazing engine/ tranny combo and same technology inside. After 2 weeks and 1600 miles, I can honestly say... It's the best Car I've ever owned, American or otherwise, and I've driven and owned at least 40 different vehicles over the past 25 years. From Lexus to BMW, Infiniti to Audi, Ford to GM and probably several I've forgotten (especially anything from Chrysler), you simply must test drive this car. Even if you're not in the market for a $70k sedan... It will be worth your time. Think Audi RS7 or BMW M5 at a $25k discount. Yes... It's that good, and it's 'Merican!
Today, 4 crown and diets, 2 shots of fireball and 11 Coors Light At CMA fest is Nashville. Tally for the week... Liver failure.
God I love Mork Only Big 10 coach who carries a full set of luggage on his face 24/7/365. Jesus dude, maybe less benefit and more sleep and those eye bags would reduce in size a little.
VCTRS2? I had to sign in just to tell you to keep it below 70 especially if you drive a black Cadillac CTS-V. I am the proud owner of the plate VCTRS and will be in Cbus next week. Don't need them looking for me! Good luck.
Ok, you're partially right You can claim 80% of the "gift" but that not your ultimate deduction. Your net effect is your tax bracket multiplied by 80% of the gift. It's not a great deal by any means, so the poster is right in saying its substantially more expensive to buy season tix. As far as your comment on priority points, they mean nothing unless you see value in owning season tix. Even then, the AD keeps raising the threshold for points so only the top tier givers reap any real benefit from them. You need to have given half a million dollars to get a good parking pass anymore.
Agreed. We went from talent and coaching with Carr To no talent and coaching with RR. To talent and no coaching with Hoke. We've come full circle.
HAIL TO JIMMY FOOTBALL Can't wait for "the Game" UTL!
The hiring of Dave Brandon Was definitively the worst call against Michigan
Great thread, and I'll probably get negged, but The end of the 1998 Rose Bowl was a gift. Ryan Leaf clearly spiked the ball before Time expired. I look at it as some small vindication for the phantom TD call against Bo vs USC but it was a major gift nonetheless. Maybe Leaf goes Cordell Stewart and we never claim our only modern era natty. I'm sure glad we got the call, but the Spartan Bob game was certainly a way for the universe to balance us out.
So there's one less soccer player? That's terrible.
That must be why they wear helmets And floor gymnasts don't? Thanks for the knowledge. /s
No it's not. Wrong bill style.
That's not the hat Harbaugh was wearing. The hat seen in the OP post has the larger fanned bill. Harbaugh wore a standard bill hat.
Yes I'm aware but not fully aware. It's New Era. I was just lamenting on how I miss Nike.
It looks like thehat Carr wore when we had Nike Oh how I miss you Nike. Your hats fit so much better than Adidas. And your t-shirts didn't shrink into something that would be better suited to cover a pony keg versus a human man.

"Shotty" evidence? Shoddy post!
For every person who thinks this, there are 20 who disagree. Eminem is more successful than almost anyone in the rap scene and that genre is here to stay regardless of your tastes. After all, ESPN used Eminem's song "Berzerk" as its theme for an entire season. They are disney owned and must appeal to the masses... Mission accomplished.
Bando, I've always like your posts so allow me to weigh in There are a couple of things about these kids that make my skin crawl. And for the record, I'm a 40 year old guy with 2 kids and consider myself to be pretty open- minded and in touch with PoP culture with an ability to relate to most anyone. After all, I'm in sales so I have to be able to relate to te masses. With that said, your comments that you don't need anything to get you pumped up for Michigan football seems a bit hollow. Let me explain... Most people would agree that it is mandatory to hear the band play "The Victors" after every TD or a big defensive stop. We have several stadium traditions that were created to keep the energy level up in the stadium like... Keys during 3rd downs Yelling while on defense on 3rd/ 4th down The 3rd quarter wave Touching the Banner Videos of former players saying "Get Up Michigan" on key plays. Etc, etc, etc To say that we don't have or need anything to fill in the lulls of the game or maintain energy at certain moments is probably a bit inaccurate. Even if you don't need them, let's be honest, our stadium isn't exactly the loudest or most intimidating place to play for opponents. That said, I like the "idea" of a Michigan branded "hype" song to add to the traditions already in place. The way they are going about it may not be for everyone, but in theend, if the product sucks, it won't catch on... Just like Pop Evil. Lastly, as a 40 year old father who tailgates at 6am every game regardless of kickoff time or weather, I take more issue with the "down I front" crowd than I ever will with someone trying to make the stadium a fun atmosphere, whatever the means. I'd get behind a kickstarter to ban those types of "fans" before I chastized anyone trying to improve my game day experience. It's the effort that I can appreciate. If this final product sucks, I'll be right there with everyone rejecting it, but we haven't even seen that product yet. And, if it has anything close to tr level of creativity and polish as their video, it may not be that bad. We will never replace "The Victors", but adding something uniquely "Michigan" is not a Bad idea. After all, all of the above things I've mentioned have been inorganic, contrived and planned things meant to improve the atmosphere. I hate the wave, but I don't boo itor complain about it, I just don't participate, and you can do the same for whatever this project ultimately becomes. EDIT: the kid comes off as a complete asshole on the radio interview. He clearly has no real world experience dealing with media or how to manage public relations, so this project has a lot to overcome just from the standpoint that he is completely unlikable.
Fords are for pussies, you need a Silverado! /s https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UfHtcUZXljw Chevys will roundhouse kick a Ford right in the frickin' mouth.
You are 100% correct Even in the business world, this is true. I work for a company crippled by poor leadership and lack of accountability and it starts to permeate through the entire sales force. If you have bad leadership, your culture will ultimately fail. Michigan football was no different.
WD: Rumor has it that you used The wrong "word" in your saying above.
MMRV is the vaccination that covers Both viruses, but you already knew that and we're just trying to be an ass so I forgive you.
Is it true that AC read at a third grade level after he left UM? This is a serious question and I have heard it from a few family and alumni who are in their 70's and who had known Bo very well.
Is it just me, or does Chet look like DameFan? It all makes sense now.
Is your name Wendy K5 Or Wendyke? I can't help but notice the crafty use of a 5 as a backward E

Lol. Love it! #foreignbornprez
Glad you brought this up I was just really getting into M recruiting and started to attend every home game when Navarre was a sophomore. I followed his turmoil and how fucking terrible our alumni and fan base treated that kid. For God sake, he was a defensive end in high school before playing some QB and was thrust into the position when Henson left. All he did was set nearly every M QB record and deliver a Rose Bowl berth. (Damn you Braylon and your drop on that first drive). My favorite two moments were watching him catch a pass in the MetroDome for a TD to lead us back from 21 down in the 4th qtr and meeting him in person at ten Corner Bar in Rockford just before he was drafted. Great guy.
I have a feeling it would start with his very first play And the words... "Look at that speed!" Would lead into the next scene where we visit his home town when he is just a boy.
All of you who haven't been sick yet and who live in Michigan, prepare for it. There's a group of parents in Holland, MI who first thought it a grand idea to not vaccinate their kids and then thought it was a good idea to have a "Measles Party" for their kids similar to a "Chicken Pox Party". Well, for those of you who don't know, this is a really really bad idea. You can send your thank you cards to Jenny McCarthy when you are applying ointment to your shingles.
WTF is going on Ace? Seriously, stick to analyzing football, because your analysis of Eminem's music is amateur at best. He peaked in 1999? Seriously, you were what, a teen then? Don't give up your day job.
I can't imagine how to dig through a pool. I tried it once, but the water pressure kept filling the hole again. Perhaps I needed a different metaphor or an analogy to make my point... Err sift through.
And 0% of super bowl rosters apparently. You made his point by disagreeing with his point. You're a silly goose.
I blame producers. ^^^^^
Do you blame him? WD was 3 the last time Jeff Bridges was relevant. Don't pile in.
Had someone used Loktite on that flatscreen and affixed it to the cabinet, one less kid would have died in the nationwide commercial.
RemDog: They were heavily favored to win that game And it was never even close. Don't fool yourself. That late TD by Breaston to get it within 8 was USC getting bored with us. We were obliterated. It was never in doubt that we would lose that game. It was a classic Carr game. Flat and outplayed.
Do you watch the games? Brady went at him time and time again if his receiver was open. In fact, on the final Patriot drive to take the lead, Sherman was covering Gronk and Brady hit him for a huge first down.
