Report: Jedd Fisch offered coaching position

Submitted by Moe on

Word from a Fox1 reporter suggest that Jedd Fisch, most recently the OC for the Jaguars (and OC at Miami (YTM)) has been offered the role of Passing Game Coordinator. Great hire if he does accept

College FB news -- I'm hearing ex-Jags OC Jedd Fisch will be offered the Pass Game Coordinator job at University of Michigan. @FOXSports1

Fisch would probably get TE and Passing Game, which is very manageable. TE is a smaller group, so his coordinating wouldn't be overwhelming. This also takes some of the load off of Drevno, who has to coach a lot of OL. And Harbaugh is going to call plays, so on game day, Fisch would be our guy in the box. Add Morton, and the offensive staff is complete.

I'm not sure he's ever played football before. He didn't play in HS and his bio says he was a coach on his little league team. So a guy this young without playing experience could become a sponge.

It almost feels like there's a group of 'NFL' reporters sitting around seeing who can fk with this fanbase the most...

"Hmmm...let's see how many hits I can get from that fanbase with this tweet from my  'SOURCES'" hahahahahaha.....

I had thought that Jedd Fisch was in the Big Ten as an OC for maybe 10 minutes at Minnesota (well, one season, which is like ten minutes....but anyway...), and I am pretty sure he had a short stint with the Hurricanes as well. Does anyone know what his other NFL stops were out of curiosity? I am pretty sure Seattle was one of them, but I get the impression he's not been in any one place that long.

as a QB/WR assistant (basically the assistant to David Shaw), during a period where the Ravens had deadful QB play.

He was Denver's WR coach in 2008, when the Broncos had good WRs.

He was Seattle's QB coach in 2010, when Seattle had dreadful QB play.

First, I'm assuming this is a joke. I'm not even sure what that title/position even means. Sounds like a coaching position in North Korea.

Second, people are out of their minds if they think this guy is any good. I live in Jacksonville and had the misfortune of watching his offense all year. Essentially, he did an awful job for the worst team in football. No, thank you.

That being said, as I pick myself back up off the floor, in Harbaugh I trust. Hail glorious leader of A2

A bit of progress was not too much to ask. There was absolutely no progress. I had the misfortune of going to, watching, and listening to analysis of the jaguars and the attitude down here, aside from bortles, was that people were jumping for joy that he was gone. Again, in harbaugh I trust. I would be comfortable if he hired Kim Jung il but having seen the offensive debacle known as the Jacksonville jaguar 2014 offensive, I was not encouraged by this dude. If he comes here, I hope I am ultimately wrong. Go blue

I am fine with it.

If we can have microscopic focus on areas of importance and fine tune I like it.

We all may sing a different tune later about this give it a shot.

Okay, reading through the comments, I think Harbaugh is spoiling us a bit.  We're talking about a recent NFL coordinator moving back to college to essentially become a position coach (at a place where he has no ties).  We're obviously not going to get Adam Gase and Dan Quinn right now.  We're a college program.

I don't care what he's done/didn't do...if anyone thinks JH is going to let someone come in and mess up his O then they are nuts.

It looks like JH is putting together a dream team type staff.  Very professional and top notch. I think the NFL flavor will draw the top recruits to us because the NFL is where they want to go.

When Coach Hoke put together his staff he pulled Mattison from the NFL and the rest of the crew had traveled with him from Ball State or San Diego State as I remember.  Nuss came later from Bama when Big Al was canned.

I don't see how an M fan couldn't love what JH is doing.

When we played Ohio State this year.  Late in the game OSU went for 4 and short.  They lined up and saw the D and called a time out.  Kept the same formation power to the right and ran a counter type play to the left for a TD(I hope all facts from memory are correct).

We lined up in the same D after we let them see how we were going to play it.  Do you top notch football guys feel we did the right thing or did we let Urbs out Coach us with the move or lack of change????

Apparently he was offered maryland oc job a couple days ago. You would think he would have rejected it already but the sites are saying they are still waiting on him and no other OC names have come up. Usually backup names would have surfaced by now. Any thoughts on this silliness?
