BTN crew just said that Hackett even invited Brady to the Football Bust next week - not sure if he'll show, but definitely a great gesture to show that his work has been appreciated and give him a chance to go out on something of a positive.

He's a grown man...and he believes the stuff he spouts (which is a compliment). He'll be there, there will be tears, there will be laughs, there will be hugs...and likely a standing ovation. As there should be.

Winner or loser - this is his team and he deserves to share that night with them. As does his family.

They've shed blood, sweet and tears for this University and this team. I'm happy they'll be able to see it through to the end.

Michigan Man is now trending on twitter. Lol. Love it. Hackett killed it when talking about it needs to go away and exactly what it means. Now go get Harbaugh or Miles and complete the trifecta.

I was pleased that Hackett underscored the necessity of achievement. We as current students or alumni are each assessed according to our performances. Brady Hoke strived and he failed, which means he was trying hard enough to win. I sincerely wish Coach Hoke the very best in his new endeavors. For Michigan Football the hard work is just beginning but we are up to snuff, leaders and best.

Hackett seems very sharp and very easy to listen to. He's great at explaining things clearly through his metaphors and lists/bullets. He definitely talks the part.

I loved his take on "Michigan Man" and only slightly less loved him bitch-slapping Drew Sharp's stupid question.  And the swinging pendulum physics analogy was great because I am a nerd engineer.

At it's core "Michigan Man" was a great term to describe values that we hold in high esteem at Michigan. However, the core had been buried by arrogance and misinformation over the years -- making it unrecognizable. Hackett just stripped away the BS, and reestablished our true identity. That's a good start for a rebuild in my opinion.

Please MGoBlog switch out the stock Hackett picture.  Looks like an evil villian from one of the lesser James Bond flicks. Save this one for when we all turn on him like a pack of wild dogs.

Finally a press conference where there were actual answers. And they were good ones! I refuse to make a rash decision but, if you make the right HC hire you can remove interim from your title. GO BLUE!

Here's the thing: I remember sitting and watching DB hit a home run on the NCAA presser with RR and MSC and thinking he was going to be amazing. One great presser does not a great AD make. Let's curb the enthusiasm.

I was impressed with Hackett's press conference and leaving it at that.  Let's move forward!!!

Looking forward to the next press conference where we are announcing a coach.  Then, maybe we can focus on recruiting....

during that presser which automatically made him more credible right off the bat than his predecessor, whose name shall never again cross my lips. This evening, I was at a "Meet the President" reception in Grand Rapids with Schlissel and about 125 people old enough to remember at least 6 previous UM presidents. In Schlissel's remarks, he was discussing valued alum from the west side such as Gerald Ford, Peter Wege, and Jim Hackett, who, to paraphrase, "did some of the heavy lifting today" and then he ran through JH's credentials with the university like a salesman. Didn't sound to me like the interim title was going to be hanging around for long....
