where do we go from here? How do we support this team?
Next week our team is going to come running out of that tunnel and we are going to need to be there to let them know that we are in their corner.
Yeah, the season is fucked right now, and our coach should be fired, but this is Michigan and one bad season, even at the end of six bad years, won't bury us just yet...
What can we do, to make a mark, to make a statement, that losing sucks but we are a family?
I am thinking a simple 'we are family' cheer.
It wouldn't be that hard to start and it could have a profound impact.
Anyone else think we could make this happen?

Why is there no discernment on the part of Hoke that Gardner is mentally inacapable being a QB. I have seen this for quite some time. We should be beyond stacked at wide reciever by putting Garner with Funchess and the others at that position. Morris should already have a year under his belt and we would be beyond the transition/rebuild point. Yes Garner is an athlete, but one that should be a Wide Out. The QB position DEMANDS mental perfection under pressure and Garner does not have this gift. Some do, some dont. I hope Nuss sees this and petitions more Morris to start.

I like Gardener, the athlete. I'm thinking they should maybe tweak the offense to get him moving, mayber read option style. I'm not sure he has the skills to be a statue pocket passer. I've said for a while that Morris has a better arm and long term will probably be better for the team but I didn't think he would surpass a senior. I also somewhat believe that if Bellomy would have been adequate in the Nebraska game a couple of years ago that Gardner would indeed still be a WR.

In 2003 or so the Pats lost their home opener 31-0 to the Bills. They went on to win the Super Bowl.
This is clearly what will happen to us.

As painful as last night's game was, there really isn't anything that will make me feel less connected to Michigan and the university community and make me want to support it any less in its efforts. I was pretty pissed like a lot of people here, but onward and upward in the end, and I assume most of us will be right back at it on Saturday when we play Miami (OH). However we may feel right now and no matter our current assessment of where that team is at (yeah, about that, I know....), we are all rooting for the same team and wish it nothing but success in the end.

We're 1-1. Take a chill pill everyone. We play in the worst of the power conferences

I don't think it's the season that's fucked, but rather the current state of the program.

I know our players are working hard. I want to believe our coaches can get the job done, because I can't stomach another coaching change and all the turnover it comes with. I really like Hoke and co. But this performance was abysmal, and straight out of 2013. It's really difficult for me to say anything positive about our coaches after that game.
However, I don't really see a choice for the short term. We can talk about coaches in November. But right now, the only option is to watch our game at Miami next week. As bad as it was, you can't abandon a season because of one awful game. The schedule sets up for a winning streak and incremental improvement might have us ready for MSU. Give ourselves a chance to improve and atone. It's the only option right now. Let's try to enjoy the season. Go Blue.

I think it's possible that the team was maybe overconfident after blowing out App. State (how bad do they suck, huh?). Maybe ND is better then we thought? I'm not sure. I think maybe that this was too big of a game, too soon. Hopefully, hopefully this team can do what they didn't last year and improve. They need to do this, they have to do this. If they get smothered by MSU, drop an unexpected game somewhere (PSU, Utah??), I think Hoke could be out.

I will always support this team, this program, these kids, and this school!
However, 3-7 in the last 10 games hs left me utterly disgusted. 3-7!!! with blowout losses to MSU, K State, and ND. 3 wins include a miracle vs NW, a win were we gave up 47 points, and App State.
It's not only the losses, it's the attitude I see, the players look like they are fine with losing and I even saw some smiles on our sideline when we were down 31. I saw the same thing during the K State blowout, this team is OK with losing.

I have faith in Nuss. Hoke, Mattison, Wellman, Funk, DB etc., they can all leave now.
I gave up my season tickets after last year, I cannot justify the $$ to watch that crap any longer. Apparently I made the right decision, the schedule sucks and so does the coaching. The program is in deep trouble and if anyone still thinks Michigan is relevant, you are delusional. The game of football has passed this program by. With e rules as they are, you have to skirt the rules and stretch the truth as far as you can to have a chance.
If you don't coach and recruit like the SEC you have no shot. The B1G is a laughing stock right now and completely out of the playoff picture, just two weeks into the season.
We can no longer make fun of ND and MSU as we have become what they once were. Sparty is put on the national stage more than we are. ND is rising from the ashes and Sparty is trying to figure it out. Michigan is a hot mess, a dumpster fire and a joke right now.
ND may not win the NC, but they will win more games than we will, so will MSU and OSU. At best Michigan will be third in our division, maybe fourth. The game has changed and Michigan didn't get the memo. The Michigan Man is dead we should let 'him' rest in peace and move on.

that will never change, I'm a Michigan fan.
But, I am also a realist and the writing is on the wall with regard to this staff. The Administartion still has not gotten it right.

Not ready to blame Gardner for anything. The last sack I didn't see one lineman make a block. And I don't think it's all their fault either. They are all good athletes. Do they know what they are doing. It doesn't look like it.
September 7th, 2014 at 11:10 AM ^
LOL at people talking about easy games, outside of next week there are zero easy games left on our schedule and zero teams that we have much better than a coin flip's chance of beating. MInny, MSU, Ohio, and PSU look clearly better than us. Utah, NW, Rutgers, MD, and Indiana look at least as good as we do.
This is the new reality for Michigan Football.

that my support is starting to wane. Under Hoke we seem so far behind the rest of the big time college programs. His inability to win on the road and his record against the rivals is not good and getting worse. The program is not heading in the right direction and even as a supporter of Hoke I am beginning to have my doubts

We continue to support the team 100%. For me that includes attending the games as well. College football is different from the NFL in that respect. Going to the games shows support for the student athletes!

Continue to show up to games (if you can) and cheer as loud as you can. It's easy to be a fan when your team is doing well. Much harder when it isn't.
September 7th, 2014 at 4:47 PM ^
Seriously, how do you actually do that? If we learned anything from the last 7 years, anything that negatively impacts the coaches gets through to the team. If we're out there saying 'God I love Michigan and these palyers. But man, Hoke is an idiot.' That is going to effect things. I just don't think it's possible to show support one way and not the other.
I plan to support them by cheering them on, hpoing they win, and questioning, and second-guessing but not criticizing the coaches. And hoping that, if the results on the field continue to be poor, the administration refuses to accept mediocrity and does something about it. If they don't, then I say we tar and feather Dave Brandon and the rest of the admin.
