Countdown To Kickoff Day 9

However, I expect the next 9 days to seem longer than the last 20.

The most depressing Tay Odoms pic...that game was sad on so many levels except for the Terrence Taylor power bomb

I got into that game for $5! What a steal on that day.

anyone have any idea where I can get a polo like the ones I see the players wear in the countdown vids? I have never seen one like that at Mden or anywhere else. Not sure if they are even for sale.
And please, no smart ass comments such as "play footbaw for Meechigan."

I was wondering the same thing. I love those polo shirts the players have been wearing. I think Doug should ask for one. He doesnt seem to have a very extensive collection of polos.

I remember seeing them a few years ago at the All About Blue store that I think was recently bought out by M-Den. Not sure where you would find them now if not the State St. MDen. Maybe Ulrich's? They sometimes have slightly different things you don't find in other stores.
I like Doug's polo

...I'm sure he has one in every size.
In all actuality, they do make some team gear that is not available to the public for that particular reason...they don't want the public to have everything they have.
Most year's there are a couple coaches polos that come out to the public, but many times Nike and Adidas both make stuff exclusively to the football team. Many times other sports can't even order it.
Generally this is for your major schools in big conferences. I know Bama has more exclusive sideline apparal than any other school I've ever seen. Texas does as well.

Mercury Hayes days! (the catch)

I was sitting in that corner of the stadium. Still can't believe he made the catch and dragged the foot.

Chesson seems pretty well-spoken and he did make a point that makes me confident that this renewed push to drive accountability on this team is actually making great progress. He talked about "playing for others" and how when you feel you're playing for others, you don't want to let the other person down. We frame safety like that at work and it seems to work very well, and it does drive people to push that much harder for better results. I thought Chesson actually framed it better than we typically do.

Agree. He is a very well-spoken young man, and that comment came across very well.
I think when Hoke mentions having good leaders throughout the different classes, Jehu is definitely an example of that.

Jehu is a personal favorite of mine, and I'm really rooting for him to do well. I think the point that Seth made in This Week's Obsession is really important. Jehu could be amazing on drag routes. Chesson showed in the Akron game last year that he has some serious speed and moves coming laterally across the field.
I can't believe the season is so close.

Single digits!!!

That sentence gave me a raging boner.

They should much improved this season if the offensive line can hold up. Funchess and Darboh can both go up and get the ball, Canteen can take the top off the defense, Chesson is a nice possession style receiver.

Seems to represent the university well
May you catch many touchdowns Jehu, I'm rooting for you.

Man, this can't get here soon enough. I was also really impressed with how articulate Jehu is and how thoughtful his answers were. He is among a group of talented young guys that will make for a nasty group of upperclassmen in the future. This year is pivotal to the progress of our football program and I really think these first four games are huge for setting the tone this season. ND will be a good road test that if passed can pay big down the road for us. Go Blue!!!

In a good way. Reminds me a little of Marquise Walker. 20 going on 35.

Chesson is one of my favorite players. I love hard nosed receivers that can block. His contributions on special teams is underrated as well, both on coverage and returns. Hopefully he doesn't get lost in the shuffle with some of the new guys coming in and Darboh coming back.

They just seem very well put together. This is the 3rd or 4th interview where I thought the kid did a beautiful job representing himself and the team.

Yup. I said it.
