Hello: Mike Weber

This escalated quickly. 2015 Cass Tech running back Mike Weber, who was initially slated to visit Michigan State this afternoon, committed to Michigan after deciding to visit Ann Arbor instead.

While the tide had seemingly turned in Michigan's favor after Weber had previously favored the Spartans, I don't think anybody expected a commitment to happen this quickly. Weber is the #14 running back and #115 player overall on the 247 Composite. He held offers from Michigan State, Ohio State, Miami, Nebraska, Tennessee, USC, and Wisconsin, among several others, at the time of his commitment.
The full, informative commitment post will go up tomorrow morning.

in the manner of sarcastic trolling.
Negative sarcasm is still negative.
Are you positive?

He runs like he's pissed off. Looks for contact. It routinely takes 3-4 ppl to bring him down.
We need Fred Jackson to give us his Hershel Walker-esque quote on him...
I'm sure it's something like...speed of a cheetah, power if a freight train, vision better than Dr. Rahmani...

I am excited to see that we filled another need with a highly touted Michigan player.

Now if we can get him to put the correct uniform on for home games we're golden!

maybe it's next year's spring game, where they wear both.
They'd have to divide that attendence number by 10 for that to be the case.

I was just thinking yesterday how it seemed like such a long time since there were new commits to drool over. Today has been sweet.
Burn a couch, friendo.
Go blue!

Webber/Cole Harris/Campbell. I was so psyched when we had Harris and Campbell almost a year ago and while I am sorry to see them go, am very very happy to get Webber and Cole in our class. The RB drama has been so long it makes getting Webber a huge relief.

Awesome GIF.

He took his trip to USC and cleaned his pipes then came back and committed to the good guys.
My warmest regards to the staff for this news!
And of course, thank you Mike Webber!
That was quick! I'm glad Mr. Weber picked Michigan! Best of luck Mr. Weber both on the field and in the classroom. I think he will be the perfect fit at RB for Michigan. He will be a bruiser who has speed and toughness. Hoke and his coaches continue to do a great job recruiting. I hope this is the year that Hoke can get some more wins!
Weber will be Marshawn Lynch in a winged helmet. Great pickup.
makes me happy.
The best part was that he decided sleep was more important than a visit to that other team in Michigan.
Well that just made my early morning much more tolerable. I love that he was supposed to visit State and committed to us instead.
Good morning, Mike Weber. Happy to have you on board. Wooooooooo.
we aren't recruiting galactically enough
Awesome! He runs like he's mad at the grass.
We're going to be wearing AWAY jerseys at HOME!!!???
F*** YOU DAVE BRANDON!!!!
I like the photo but why is he wearing a road jersey at home??
Just askin'...
Hoke (and his staff) has done as good a job in recruiting as anybody in the country, and has done so pretty much from the beginning here.
Woohoo, this is great news! and most surprising!
A top 150 type back, with some improvement could be a top 100 player but I don't think he's there yet. In tight spaces he does a great job getting behind his shoulder pads and punishing tacklers, getting extra yards in the process. Does a good job getting low and bringing his shoulder pads, legs, and feet with him. Has excellent burst in and out of cuts where he can get vertical immediately. Has good vision, and from all accounts has good hands as well.
He does need to improve in two areas I feel to take the next step, both of which apply in the open field: he needs a bit better open field speed, his burst is great but doesn't consistently run away from defenders when he gets into the open field; and he needs better feet and balance in the open field. You see several times on the sideline he burst up the sideline like he's shot out of a cannon, but he doesn't seem to have the feet or core strength to maintain his balance. He allows defenders to get into his feet and trip him up a bit in the open field as well. If he improves his balance, a lot of those 15-25 yard gains turn into TDs a the high school level.
FWIW: after Scott committed to MSU, MSU was supposedly recruiting Weber for their Flex position. Last year, RJ Sheldon played that role, mostly as a RB, but this year is more of a WR. It's the Keshawn Martin role. So that gives you some feel for his burst and hands, that MSU felt he fit best into that role.
He should fit very well into a zone blocked scheme at Michigan, and for how Nuss likes to utilize RBs out of the backfield.
We'll be lucky if Ace has even woken up from his 10 hours of slumber to watch his morning three hours of TV before strolling into work (his couch) around noon-ish time. Ah, the life of a blogger.
You forgot the part about slipping out of bed past the bevy of beautiful women....wait that's not part of the life of a blogger?
....Mind blown....

hello post for Adam Schnepp. These things take time.
So next year we'll have Green, Smith, Isaac, Johnson, and Weber.
If AT LEAST one great running back doesn't emerge out of that stable..
Go Blue!
