Chicago Bears have spoken with Harbaugh
Just about which pizza place in town is his favorite, I'm sure.

Trust me, if he leaves the family is coming with him. No one is taking a jet back & forth on a daily basis when they can just move their family where they are currently located.

deep dish - Lou Malnati's (specifically the North Lawndale location)
thin crust - Fox's in Beverly
tavern style - Michael's on North Broadway
I used to love the My Pi on Clark street - while the pizza was fine, the atmosphere was kitschy fun.

One Bite Pizza review this week is Michael's. Tavern style got a 7.6

Fielding: I had the North Lawndale Lou Malnati's a bunch of times when WFW (working from work, which is up the street). I couldn't tell the difference between it and pizza from other locations, but I might've missed something. (All of the orders were pretty standard.) Is there something they do particularly well there? Asking for future reference, thanks.

I'm beginning to think he's gone. If so, I wonder who the favorite to succeed him would be. My guess is inhouse and MacDonald.

I'm guessing a replacement would probably be someone with more than 1 year experience as a coordinator.
Personally, I think he ends up staying. He's under contract, he's recruiting, he just said last season feels like a beginning..... and I didn't take that as a beginning of a job search.

From his 1st year coordinating to his first year as a head coach, at an institution that’s he’s only been with for a year? I doubt that.

Assume the worst, hope for the best at this point.

I bet it went like this.
Jim we would like to bring you in for an interview.
Jim: no thanks

For those not in the Chicago area, Hub was on the Bears radio broadcast when they drafted Harbaugh and became friends with him when they lived down the street from one another.

Seems to me that this statement by Arkush is the single most important thing in this entire thread, even if you have a vested interest in which city has the best pizza.

Uno and Due are awesome.
So is Lou M's.
So is Pequod's.
For all those whining about "that's not pizza" just go eat something else

Did I miss the memo about pizza?

They had it in the conference room. It's gone now, but you can still smell it in the room.

Now that’s a Super Bowl bound roster. Lol: if he leaves for the Bears he just wants to coach in the NFL because he wants to and it’s for nothing to do with “being able to compete” or whatever.

I’ve come to really like Detroit style pizza since moving to Royal Oak last summer.

Jim Harbaugh is far far far far too intelligent to take the Bears HC job while the McCaskeys own the franchise.
I'm sure the conversation went something like this:
Bears: "You wouldn't want to be our coach, right?"
Harbaugh: [laughing] "No, but seriously: No."
Bears: "Yeah, didn't think so. You don't know anyone who might..."
Harbaugh: "No one comes to mind but I'll let you know if I think of someone."
Bears: "Ok, thanks. Bye."
Harbaugh: "Bye, and seriously, thanks for calling. Good luck!"
Zero percent chance this happens.

Gino’s East. Anything else is hot garbage

The existence of a single "brief phone conversation" is probably the strongest evidential basis we've had yet to conclude that he's not going to the Bears.
