So where does Michigan end up in the bracket?
Whether UNC or MSU is the 1 seed in the Midwest, I think the other one gets the 2 seed there. Tennessee gets the 2 seed in the South, probably with Virginia. The question is whether Michigan goes to the East in Duke's regional or West into Gonzaga's.
There's also a chance that Virginia stays as the #1 seed, which they have earned based on their resume. 3 losses, twice to Duke and once to Florida State, who is probably a 3 seed. Virginia is also, I think, #1 in every one of the committee's metrics. I wouldn't mind going to the East to face Virginia.
If we are paired with Gonzaga, the 3 seed should be Florida State. If we go elsewhere, it should be LSU, since they can't go to a region with Tennessee or Kentucky.
We will be a 2 seed in Duke's bracket.
Nice so the best we'll do is get mowed over by Duke. Great.
wrong.
Hahaha So Sparty wins the Big Ten to play Duke? Sign me up for losing the Big Ten to NOT be in Duke’s Bracket.
Those were my exact thoughts! Dodged a bullet.
Nobody likes you
#2 in the southeast with Duke #1
Based on how we got beat today, I can live with an opponent that shoots 31% from 3. That said, no way we stay out of foul trouble against Zion.
Also there hasn't been a southeast regional in a long time.
Lose to a 6 seed in round 2, or a 7 seed in round 2. Take your pick.
Will be pleasantly surprised if the team makes it to the second weekend.
Where we meet a team like Minnesota or Iowa? Gotcha. Bunch of whiney little bitches. 3 losses to teams not named MSU and we got the best of every one of them before the year was up. MSU might be the best team in the nation right now. Which means we are 3 minutes of poor shot selections away from being right there with them.
MSU will lose by double-digits when they play Duke. That’s if they don’t lose to LSU first.
dumb take, per usual
per ALWAYS.
There, FIFY.
We should be a 3. We are not a 2 and don’t deserve it. We will likely get a murderers row region and we deserve it.
Show me the 3 seed that's better. Houston just lost to Cincinnati. Texas Tech just lost to West Virginia.
Um...trash take. Michigan just choked after dominating state. Eat shit tonight, guy.
Actually based on resume they are a 2, really good non conference wins and 3rd in one of the toughest conferences. I get we are all pissed but the total body of work says this team earned a 2.
2 seed in Duke’s bracket. That’s my prediction. Duke will be number 1 overall and UM will be last 2 seed.
LOL, State got Duke. A little silver lining.
But if MSU is the last two, which they would have to be if Duke is the overall #1, then UM has to be a 3.
Yeah we're gonna be a 3 seed. No way we're going to be ahead of MSU as a 2 seed.
Edit: Well, I have no idea wtf just happened.
Sweet 16 may be the ceiling.
Both teams move up. MSU is a #2 and UM is a #2.
Who gives a fuck, Poole will shoot 1-12 and we won’t make it past the first weekend
He’s my least favorite Michigan player since Jerod Ward
Prove me wrong Michigan we’re not good enough offensively against good teams to go very far!
Just put us near Virginia or Gonzaga, Neither of those teams scare me.
No result in the tourney would surprise me. Could see us losing to a 15 or 14 seed in round one if a team gets hot from outside and our offense goes cold. Could also see us leaning on our defense and grinding down teams and making a solid run.
Maryland is in the bottom half of Duke's regional. That should mean that we go elsewhere.
EDIT: Ha ha, MSU gets Duke. Also, 3 B1G teams in the bottom half of one bracket? WTF committee?
So is State
Maryland gets a 6.
MSU- Minnesota in the 2nd round?!?
Minnesota has to beat Louisville...doubtful
They can do it.
lmao wow msu got screwwwwwed
Ball don't lie. Committee knew Refs blew the end of that game.
Sparty gets rewarded by having to face the #1 1-seed Duke.
I almost feel sorry for them. Almost.
HA HA HA HA HA
They got to celebrate for like 5 minutes.
Assuming they get past LSU.
Completely ridiculous job by the committee. I can understand having two B1G teams meeting in the Sweet 16 if it's unavoidable, but Minnesota should be somewhere else. That's just dumb.
They have MSU as the worst 2. This will be interesting for us
They don't pair best 1 with worst 2. This more likely means that MSU was #7 overall, and got sent to the closer regional available (East vs. West). If we are #8, we go to the West.
I’ve said it before the committee down grades the Big Ten because they’ve not won a National Championship in years
Of course poor seeding doesn't help anyone win a championship
Can’t be worse than where MSU just ended up. Congrats on the B1G title, you’re in Duke’s region.
Screw Sparty, but honestly, the committee just took a shit on the B1G.
Refresh my memory. Who did MSU beat in non-con play?
refresh my memory. who did uofm lose to 3 straight times in one season?
I was asking a serious question. Don't be a snarky bitch just because we lost. I don't like it any more than you.
Michigan also has wins over Villanova and North Carolina. What does MSU have outside the conference that they can point to, in order to indicate that they got shafted?
Would Indiana, Indiana, and Illinois look better on a resume? Cuz we are talking resumes right?
