Blind commentators. Tiger guy locked his legs around Purdue returner trying to stand up. Likely an ugly brawl before this game is done.
December 28th, 2018 at 3:20 PM ^
only reason I'll keep watching
December 28th, 2018 at 3:19 PM ^
Even the announcers are starting to say things like "I'm surprised there wasn't a flag on that play".
December 28th, 2018 at 3:19 PM ^
Auburn didn't play this hard all season. What happened in Nashville this week between these teams?
December 28th, 2018 at 3:20 PM ^
How the hell do you even come out and play a 2nd half after this?
December 28th, 2018 at 3:21 PM ^
Not even halftime and this games a snoozer, I guess I’ll post this here for discussion purposes...I read this AM that Michigan staff scheduled a 2019 3 star safety from Alabama for an official. My initial reaction was an unsigned and Mike Locksley favorite Quinten Johnson is not a lock or informed the staff he’s looking around...thoughts?
December 28th, 2018 at 3:28 PM ^
Johnson sent in his NLI.
December 28th, 2018 at 3:30 PM ^
Johnson’s LOI is supposed to already be in. Just waiting to announce “officially” with teammates.
December 28th, 2018 at 3:41 PM ^
I heard the same but never really saw it confirmed by anyone in the know maybe I missed it though. There’s been a lot of DB recruits the past 2 cycles I include those marked for viper, I think Velazquez moves to will after the Solomon commit and seeing as there’s only one pure LB in the 2019 cycle.
December 28th, 2018 at 3:23 PM ^
auburn has only run 30 plays. they are averaging something like 14 yd per play and just shy of 2 points per play. that is incredible.
December 28th, 2018 at 3:30 PM ^
Even more absurd, ignoring that kneel down, 7 drives, 7 TDs, 2 drives were 12 plays and 9 plays each. I saw 35 total plays, so that means 5 drives were 14 total plays for 5 TDs. Sick...
December 28th, 2018 at 4:03 PM ^
Urban has to be crying if he's watching.
December 28th, 2018 at 3:23 PM ^
The rest of the B1G won’t take this lying down. Avenge Purdue!!! I’m sure that will happen. Sure as the sun rises in the (B1G) East and sets in the (B1G) West lol. Just kidding. F these guys. And Iowa probably gets jail sexed as well.

Just ran the numbers in my transitive property model. Give Purdue killed OSU and OSU killed us and Auburn killed Purdue already, Auburn would be beating us 1403 to 13 at the half in a hypothetical matchup. So, Purdue has that going for them, which is nice.
December 28th, 2018 at 3:44 PM ^
Thanks -- I needed that. Good stuff.
December 28th, 2018 at 3:28 PM ^
Purdue gets the ball with a chance to cut into that deficit to start the second half. Stay tuned!
December 28th, 2018 at 4:04 PM ^
Well, I'm waiting?
December 28th, 2018 at 3:29 PM ^
Well at least the Boilers receive the second half kick.
Here’s to Hoping we get to see the Auburn punter in the second half...
December 28th, 2018 at 3:30 PM ^
Malzahn deserves to be fired. They have top 5 talent and had a terrible season.
December 28th, 2018 at 3:42 PM ^
That and he’s a total douche
December 28th, 2018 at 3:33 PM ^
I thought the #metoo movement was supposed to stop atrocities like this?
December 28th, 2018 at 3:35 PM ^
Q for CPAs: can Auburn roll all these excess points into an IRA at the end of the game?
December 28th, 2018 at 3:49 PM ^
They have until April 15th to do so.
December 28th, 2018 at 3:59 PM ^
Depends if they are Roth points or regular, post-tax points.
December 28th, 2018 at 3:35 PM ^
I've never seen a football player get two "technicals" and get tossed, but that might happen in this game. Chippiness when you're getting slapped around like this is so Dez Bryant.
December 28th, 2018 at 3:37 PM ^
There's still probably a fair amount of Michigan fans who'd rather have Brohm than Harbaugh, because Brohm's offense is so cool! Look! Rondale Moore's gonna catch 15 passes!! Wow! Never seen anything like it!
December 28th, 2018 at 3:38 PM ^
No there aren't. Don't be stupid.
December 28th, 2018 at 3:51 PM ^
Well, he has beat Ohio State with Urban Meyer as the coach, so....
/I'll see myself out.
December 28th, 2018 at 3:52 PM ^
"There's still probably a fair amount of Michigan fans who'd rather have Brohm than Harbaugh"
LOLWUT.
If you're going to construct a straw man, make it one that's at least a little bit plausible.
December 28th, 2018 at 3:38 PM ^
I'm starting to wonder if maybe Brohm is going to regret not leaving Purdue when he's on fire. This is going to be a bad end to a fine season.
December 28th, 2018 at 3:41 PM ^
It's an awful end to a mediocre season that's only lifted by a crazy upset over OSU.
His regret level is going to be inversely proportional to his buyout when he gets fired. Brohm isn't 1/3 the coach that Frost is and he's going to have Nebraska humming very soon. Purdue fans will soon be wondering why they're paying Brohm 6 million a year to lose every time he faces Frost.
December 28th, 2018 at 4:45 PM ^
I have yet to believe the Forst hype. I know he walked into a dumpster fire, but he's never going to get the favorable scheduling he got at CFU.
December 28th, 2018 at 5:31 PM ^
I just don't understand the Frost hype. 3 different coaches have taken UCF to a NY6 bowl game the past 6 years--O'Leary, Frost, and Heupel. He gets kudos for getting them out of the 0-12 2015 debacle, but that was a clear aberration. It's arguably a top 40 job and coaching there is like coaching Florida State in the ACC in the 90s--it's just not hard to be better than everyone else.
He COULD be the real deal, but UCF doesn't prove it to me and the jury is really out after this year at NU. And what does him being the real deal look like? 2 conference titles in 10 years and a playoff berth? Nebraska fans want the next Osborne. The problem is they aren't in an era where even Osborne would have had the success he had.
December 28th, 2018 at 5:40 PM ^
People keep talking about Nebraska like Frost is some amazing HC who has no flaws. Nebraksa looked...fine this year, and while their offense is fun that defense hasn't been above functional in years now. And unlike in the G5 where you can recruit yourself into a dominant position, there is little cjmace Frost will field teams with comparable talent to UM, OSU, or PSU consistently.
Frost and Brohm will maximize their teams' ceilings; I just don't think those ceilings are incredibly high.
December 28th, 2018 at 3:53 PM ^
"I'm starting to wonder if maybe Brohm is going to regret not leaving Purdue when he's on fire."
I guess he figured he can just set himself on fire in the bowl game.
December 28th, 2018 at 3:43 PM ^
Found a way to stop Auburn from scoring. It’s called halftime.
December 28th, 2018 at 3:49 PM ^
But Purdue is way ahead in Time of Possession!
December 28th, 2018 at 3:51 PM ^
Why bother punting?
December 28th, 2018 at 3:53 PM ^
So my wife who went to Vandy wants to know if we can trade Vandy for Purdue.
December 28th, 2018 at 3:56 PM ^
Boo Auburn! Stop running the ball. How are you supposed to score another 50 points like that?
December 28th, 2018 at 4:04 PM ^
Watching Brohm make $1 million per win is going to be so fun.
December 28th, 2018 at 4:05 PM ^
I have to say...getting home from work on a Friday and turning on CFB is pleasant. Not much of a game but it's better than nothing!
How many of Auburn's players would actually be able to enroll at Purdue?
December 28th, 2018 at 4:08 PM ^
December 28th, 2018 at 4:20 PM ^
“How many of Auburn's players would actually be able to enroll at Purdue?”
what are you implying?
December 28th, 2018 at 4:31 PM ^
That Auburn has athletes that aren’t smart enough to get into Purdue...
December 28th, 2018 at 4:45 PM ^
We need to stop that. Outside of Stanford and maybe ND, these kids can play wherever they want including Michigan. The student in student athlete is pretty much dead
December 28th, 2018 at 5:13 PM ^
Couldn’t agree more. “Intelligence” has nothing to do with where talented players go to school. Let’s not kid ourselves into thinking we are passing up 4 or 5 star athletes because they didn’t score high enough on their ACTs or that we are holding athletes to the same academic enrollment standards as regular students. I mean the whole idea of purely athletic scholarships undermines the academic argument.
we aren’t Harvard, let’s not pretend like we are at some huge disadvantage because of our academic standards for the average Joe.
December 28th, 2018 at 7:09 PM ^
it's not an either-or situation doc.
We do pass up athletes who can't meet minimum standards, for athletes. Having athletic scholarships does not mean that academics are wholly irrelevant - that depends on the school.
