Recruiting: Zach Harrison to Announce Next Week

Submitted by MJ14 on December 11th, 2018 at 9:33 PM

5-star DE Zach Harrison will tweet out his college decision next Wednesday and fax in his NLOI. He isn’t having a ceremony and there will be no interviews, which is consistent with how he’s handled his entire recruitment. down to OSU, UM and PSU. https://t.co/WnlVMVq0gF

“Harbaugh can’t coach, can’t recruit, and is arguably the biggest bust (in terms of real results vs reputation and expectations) to ever coach.”

In fact, he can coach, can recruit, and is nowhere near the biggest bust.

“There are factions on the team, the players’ parents are pissed at Harbaugh, and the losses are piling up.”

both losses are piling up? Or we talking since being hired? 10-3 10-3 8-5 10-2. I would agree more losses than I prefer, but to say they are piling up is hyperbolic at best, bullshit at face value. The players parents are pissed? Source? Or just your gut feeling?

“Kids like Harrison aren’t coming to this dumpster fire and Harbaugh will be gone within 4 years.”

Kids are still coming here. Some are like Harrison, others are not

“It’s over. We will never be OSU or Bama. Hell, NW made it to a B1G title game before Harbaugh did - how pathetic is that?”

Its not over. I don’t want to be Bama or OSU. If UM was in the West he would have gone to at least 2 Big Ten title games. So not pathetic.

step away from the keyboard, you are taking it too serious.

Here’s the thing - yah, he can beat up on the worst teams on the schedule each year. So sure, he can “win” but he routinely gets beat by equal or better coaches/staffs. That’s not being able to win, in my book.

The recruiting thing - he got his “hot new coach on the block” bump his first year or 2 but now results do the recruiting and he doesn’t have any. We have had dozens of posts and comments comparing Michigan recruiting vs OSU and it isn’t even close. The guy pulls in 20something  classes now and little no 5* talent - that’s no my opinion, that’s a fact.

AFA the players and parents mentalities, there have been plenty of posts here from insiders and tweets from former players who have quit or left the program for green pastures to determine there is smoke to the fire there.

And of course players will still come to UM - but not the kids that can compete with OSU and Bama and Clemson. I didn’t mean literally no players are coming to UM.

And you don’t want to win Championships? Sure you don’t. Stop with the holier than thou BS. You want to win just like the rest of us. Also, we aren’t in the West so who gives a shit about that argument. If my aunt had balls she’d be my uncle.

And I am the one taking it too seriously? I merely posted my opinion - nothing more, nothing less. You are the one that came on and attacked it point to point to save your own feelings and try to put me in my place. If anyone is taking it too seriously, it’s you. You could have simply kept scrolling, you realize that right? But you had to defend JH and get all serious on a stupid message board.

There's the white flag I was waiting for.

You see, I post my opinion, buttressed with facts, and you attack me and tell me that I am overreacting.  Seems to me that you are realizing your projection and just want to end this quickly and quietly.

Ok guy, I tried being polite. You are crying like a little girl. Talking about Harbaugh being the most overrated coach in the history of history, the team hates him, the parents are mad. Then claim you “buttressed” your argument with facts. None of your argument is based in anything other than the shit you are flinging at the wall and your over abundance of butt hurt.

Try harder.

"You are crying like a little girl. "

If saying that makes you feel better.  if anyone is crying, it's you.  Don't like my post and my opinion? Keep fucking scrolling.  You were the one that was so triggered you had to respond.

"Talking about Harbaugh being the most overrated coach in the history of history"

Yes, and I still stand by that opinion.  In fact, I think he is so overrated, that he may even be underrated at this point.  But seriously 95% of this place gets down on their knees and slurps the man's balls so hard, it comical.   The guy has won exactly nothing, and yet, he is better than Saban around these parts.  And anyone that has a different opinion is attacked, exactly like you are doing here.  How about you take a step back from the keyboard, take a breath, and realize how emotionally you have intertwined your manhood with Harbaugh and Michigan football.

You have done it so tightly that anyone who dares to go against your strongly held beliefs, you lash out - it's pathetic.

I talked about his record against OSU - which is a fact.

I talked about his recruiting results - which is a fact.

I talked about the rumors and the tweets/statements that have come out against Harbaugh - which okay, I will give you are half fact and half rumor.

As far as my "butt hurt" - what exactly are you accusing me of being butt hurt about? You are the butt hurt one because I had the audacity to besmirch Harbaugh and apparently your manhood.

Calm down - why you mad?  It's a stupid football opinion jesus christ.

Also, i cant help but think that maybe the reason Dax flipped so unexpectedly was because Zach hinted he wasn't goin to michigan....

For a doctor, that shouldn't be so hard to comprehend. If Dax and Zach had some kind of understanding about potentially playing for michigan but Zach told him no after osu loss, does that not give reason for Dax to flip? Its a possibility. Idk why that is a "laughable" reason. May be totally wrong but it still could have had an impact.

It's laughable because they're not buddies who talk regularly.

It's laughable because we've gone in-home with Harrison multiple times since the OSU game, so Harrison has not made up his mind that he's not going to Michigan, so if he had texted that to Dax it'd be a lie, and for what benefit?

It's laughable because Harrison is down to Michigan and OSU and hates recruiting, so if he knew after the game that he wanted to go to OSU, he'd have committed after the game and not waited until a week before signing day despite texting a recruit he doesn't know well who lives in Oklahoma weeks before.

It's a ridiculous, paranoid thought.

I get it and I'm likely to be wrong on this. All I'm saying is that recruits talk to each other and 5 star recruits like to play with other 5 star recruits. They could have developed some kind of friendship in the last couple months since we really don't know anything about Harrison. Maybe the last straw could have been another 5 star recruit telling the other that he's not feelin said school anymore. It seems obvious now that Dax was a "soft" commit so maybe he was lookin for more reasons to leave. I've obviously spent too much time rationalizing this but I don't really care bc I'm on the shitter right now and have nothin else to do.

I don't recall hearing even one report that they were particularly close.  I mean, it's one thing if they were cousins, or best friends, or played the same position, or lived within seven hundred miles of one another.  Absent some connection between the two, this makes about as much sense as saying that Hill decommitted because he heard Steph Curry thinks the moon landing was faked.

DrMantisToboggan

Steph Curry thinks the moon landing was faked.

Which really showed the government's anti-Duke bias, by the way. Let me explain. Steph Curry is from Charlotte, NC and went to Davidson, a private, strong academic, basketball school in NC. He's a top five point guard in the NBA. He says he doesn't believe we landed on the Moon and NASA invites him to come tour the Johnson Space Center. HOWEVER, when Kyrie Irving, another top five point guard in the NBA who went to a private, strong academic, basketball school in NC, said that he thinks the Earth is flat, he got NOTHING. The government has an anti-Duke bias.

Hill committed to Michigan three months ago. So your scenario presumes that three months ago or more, Harrison (an Ohioan) told Hill (an Oklahoman) that he would be committing to Michigan, which convinced Hill to commit in the first place. And now three months later, these two guys from half a country away are so tight that Harrison tells Hill his change of heart, so Hill flips to Alabama and Harrison will go to Ohio State, even though Hill has an OSU offer and Harrison has an Alabama offer.

It's...kinda laughable.

I’m not overtly calling that a laughable thought, but I will go with nonsensical.  Why isn’t anyone talking about the real tiebreaker, Al Washington?  That doesn’t make more sense than Dax?? Al is a Columbus guy and he is the hole card in a tie, and it’s in UM’s favor.

10-2 isn’t a dumpster fire and Dax flipped because Alabama.  Saban doesn’t lose in the living room any more often than he loses on the field.   I personally think any connection to the two events is reading too much into the tea leaves.    Nobody really knows but it seemed he was a UM lean before the game and no one game is going to change his decision.  He is torn, without a clear favorite and is making the biggest decision of his life.  For either program he won’t see the field next year, the win when he signs  be momentum for the program he chooses.  Either way it will be over soon.

Assume he is not coming here.  OSU is still the class of the conference and we just can’t beat them.  Not sure why he would want to go home and deal with that each year.

Kind of feel the same. The difference between a 4 and 5 star is slight and keep in mind that many of these "star" ratings is based on potential...…. Zach Harrison is probably the best example of the "based on potential" tag. I hope he picks us but not going to lose sleep if he doesn't. Tremendous athletic skills but who knows about becoming a complete football player. I'll take a roster of almost all 4 stars over a couple of 5 stars and mostly 3 stars any day. There are going to be HS superstars who just don't transition to a CF star. Happens every year at every CF power.

The most unicorn of scenarios is that not only does he commit to Michigan but that he is instrumental in getting Dax back into the class.
