Recruiting: Zach Harrison to Announce Next Week

Submitted by MJ14 on December 11th, 2018 at 9:33 PM

5-star DE Zach Harrison will tweet out his college decision next Wednesday and fax in his NLOI. He isn’t having a ceremony and there will be no interviews, which is consistent with how he’s handled his entire recruitment. down to OSU, UM and PSU. https://t.co/WnlVMVq0gF

Much better than the kids that have a scheduled announcement at some specific time and then it takes 45 mins for them to choose the school everyone figured they’d go to anyways.

I like this guy's style.  Nothing flashy, just a fax and a tweet.  Not even a video (as far as we know).  Very humble in appearance.  Hope he picks us for sure.

Totally agree.  Not much pomp and circumstance.  Would be great if he goes Blue to be Coached by Coach Mattison, Coach Brown and Coach Harbaugh.   Obviously I'm biased, it seems like a pretty compelling choice of Coaches, college town, and world class university Michigan presents.  Good luck to the young man regardless.

This is Old Guy Get off My Lawn stuff. So what if the recruit celebrates his decision with a bunch of people and some "fanfare"??? He has worked his arse off to achieve a lifelong goal, is at the very top of the food chain, the athletic pyramid, and why not have some fun with it?

Just wanted to say how impressive Zach Harrison seems with his whole demeanor throughout the process.  Despite being a top player, seems really humble, private, and thoughtful with his decision-making.  Doesn't seem like a guy that thinks life is all about him, but is truly trying to make the best decision.

Whatever team gets him will obviously get a great player but seems like they will also get a great teammate.  I really hope its Michigan but definitely will be rooting for the kid (personally in life, NFL, etc. and not the team he plays for) if he goes elsewhere.

Warum nichts?  I would pick Michigan.  My daughter knew several members of the team while she was at Michigan, and she was an Architecture major.  My time was in the 80s, and I often saw Harbaugh, Kolesar, Morris, McMurtry, etc around campus, on South University Ave, and at the usual hangouts.  The point being, at Michigan the guys on the team are part of the fabric of the student body.  I have no idea what it is like at Ohio State, but I do know of schools where the players are placed in a silo and have little interaction with Joe Average student.  I suspect OSU has a similar vibe, but again I’m not sure.  If you want a genuine college experience, go to Michigan.  The foreign trips are but one manifestation of that.  The OSU loss sucked, no doubt, and according to Sam it did bother him, but it’s one game.  Wasn’t the 29 point loss to a.500 Purdue team equally humiliating?  I am a homer, but I could easily rationalize Michigan over Ohio State, despite the loss.  He may choose to  see things differently, but I don’t think it’s hopeless to think that he may pick the Wolverines despite 11/24.

YOU would pick Michigan.

BUT---you are not Zach Harrison. You are not Dax Hill. The "genuine" college experience is there at any school for any student/student athlete who seeks it out.

Remember the old line? Life is what you make of it.

You didn't grow up in Ohio, or Nebraska, Alabama, wherever, wanting, and having others influence you towards being a fan of, whatever State U they are.

It could very well be that Michigan is better than all the rest. But who cares? They don't, they're gonna have the times of their lives for the next 3-4 years and hopefully they have no regrets.

Hope nobody is holding their breath on this - kid is going to OSU because he wants to win championships and doesn’t wang to go 0-4 in the only game that matters every year

we all need to face the facts - Harbaugh can’t coach, can’t recruit, and is arguably the biggest bust (in terms of real results vs reputation and expectations) to ever coach.

There are factions on the team, the players’ parents are pissed at Harbaugh, and the losses are piling up.

Kids like Harrison aren’t coming to this dumpster fire and Harbaugh will be gone within 4 years.

It’s over. We will never be OSU or Bama. Hell, NW made it to a B1G title game before Harbaugh did - how pathetic is that?

Lol, you need medication. I looked at your post history, and 15 days ago you were saying Harbaugh was a top 10 coach. So now all of a sudden he loses to a top 10 team on the road and he's terrible?!?

People like you are the problem with Michigan Football right now.......

2006, 12 years before you joined? Or September 06, of this year, when you joined?

Edit: aaaand you fixed your comment because I called you out. I will take this time to say, for no reason, that we, as a society, tend to stigmatize mental illness, and people who suffer should not be ashamed to talk to someone and get help. Your brain can be sick just like your stomach can. It's okay.

Oh i have been here since 2006. Signed up with my college email account but then lost access to it after I graduated and when I forgot my password, I lost access to that username forever. Then I lurked for awhile and then made a new account again this year

Thats also something I love about this board - how serious everyone takes it and how sacred points are and joined dates are.  Freaking Proud Boys here with all the unwritten and written rules.

edit: oh no, I edited it before I saw your comment, I just decided I didn’t want to turn it into a mud slinging thing. It’s already getting heated here. I have been here long enough to know the circle jerk is a strong and united front and if someone dares say anything differing from the hive mind, the entire gang descends upon that person. You seem like a nice enough guy who just has a different opinion than I do, and I just didn’t want to start a prolonged and dirty back and forth. But the difference between us is that I wouldn’t call you a troll or a retard because of your opinion

Yah, the fans who have no bearing on the game are the problem.

Not the dude running the program. The guy who got his ass handed to him by OSU for the 2nd time in 4 years and is 0-4 against them. The guy who scored less points against them than Maryland. Than Purdue. Who planned and called and coached a worse effort than every single other team on OSU’s schedule basically.

Yah, Harbaugh beats teams he should and losses to teams he should. With an unlimited budget and 8 home games a year, the guy should win 9-10 games a year, which would rank him in the top 10 - but he ain’t even close to Urban or Saban.

Harbaugh wanted this. He wanted all the attention on him. And he can’t deliver. Can’t beat OSU, losing bowl record, and no championships of any kind. The curtain has been pulled back from Oz.

The recruits see that and aren’t coming anymore. And now the current kids don’t wanna be here and there are plenty of rumors about factions on the team.

but no, you’re right. It’s my fault Harbaugh can’t beat OSU. Brilliant.

whatever helps you sleep at night.

Recruits see a fanbase that is jumping off the ledge and beginning to eat their own after a 10-2 regular season where the only two losses were to teams in the Top 5 on the road. Why would a recruit want to deal with that?

I promise you, it's the fans. Not Harbaugh. Please seek treatment ASAP.

No they don’t. That take is just trash.

kids want to win championships. They want to be on the team that is all over ESPN winning games. They don’t want to be playing for a team losing by 30 point every other year the game against the sport’s 2nd best team. That’s embarrassing for them.
