I don’t get why Karlaftis would still commit... it’s still highly likely Brohm leaves in a year or in two years. Why would he stay committed there?

Glad Purdue kept him even though it costs Michigan a recruit.  But mostly seeing Louisville getting screwed for hiring such an asshole that he salted the Earth behind him.

Money isn't an issue,  just look at their AD budget.  And from what I was told by people here that should know...he was coming.  There are deep pockets around the program, so they could've outspent Purdue.  Really interested what the whole story is, and guessing someone at U of L must have really screwed this up.

This cant be. The top comment in the other Brohm thread claimed he was a liar about saying he was going to stay at Purdue

Looks like no Karlaftis so we really need to land Harrison

Why are so many people saying theyre "Happy for Purdue"?

As if the Big Ten isn't hard enough are we actually supposed to be happy Purdue will stay a spooky upset squad since Brohm is staying?

Id much rather Brohm left for Louisville and Purdue hired a coach that ran their team into the ground. Never going to be happy for an opposing BIG team improving

I don't get all of the Brohm hype (other than the potential Karlaftis flip).  I understand that Purdue smoked OSU......but they lost to EMU (that's right Eastern Michigan), MSU and had to win their last game just to make a bowl game.  Lots of love for 6-6.  Anyway, I guess it's good for Purdue.

Purdue had a top 25 recruiting class last year, and this year has a commitment from the first 5* recruit in the school's history.

If you're a Purdue fan, there's every reason to be excited.  Yes, it has to translate to wins at some point, but the difference between the players he inherited and the players he is recruiting is much, much bigger than the difference between what Harbaugh started with and what he's got now.

I don't believe this is over. The best strategy for him was to negotiate, and walk away just like this. He has the power.

Now, he lets the boosters go to work for him, and put their money where their mouths are.

The next story may very well be about how they made him an offer too good to refuse, to come home.

Until you hear him say it's over, it's not over.

Not that getting our hopes up is a good idea, but I just saw something on social media saying that his buyout is reduced dramatically after December 5th, and that he may be waiting it out.

Please be meaningful. Please.

I still think it’s funny that Louisville told recruits to expect Brohm and then they totally botched the offer. I’d be pretty sure I was getting him before making announcements like that.

If Karlaftis goes to Purdue, I really don’t get it. Brohm might stay his year, but I seriously doubt he lasts Karlaftis’ career, which is likely to only be three years.  Purdue just won’t be able to keep a premier coach.

It was never going to be easy for Louisville to pull him away. Brohm basically told Tennessee to go to hell last off-season (and they have more history, more money, a bigger stadium/fan-base, a better conference, and more recruiting resources).
