Louisville AD Vince Tyra on firing Bobby Petrino: “I did not have the confidence that it was going to happen next season without a change & it needs to start happening now.” Source told @WatchStadium Purdue’s Jeff Brohm, a UL grad, is “clear cut No. 1 choice” of Cards

Personally, I like having another good coach in the conference so it would be mildly annoying to lose him. Whatever happens as long as Michigan keeps steamrolling people probably won’t affect us much.

Can/will Purdue crack into their B1G money to outbid UL?

One would think that Brohm has already given the signal that he’s open to the job?

Would Louisville let Purdue outbid them? I think the bigger question is where Brohm would go if the money was equal. Considering his background, it's easy to believe Louisville is his dream job. If so, he's gone. Louisville is making sure he knows their job is open before he makes any other move.

If Purdue was willing to spend a lot to keep Brohm, they might have offered him a lucrative extension already. I think they missed what chance they had of keeping him.

Does Louisville have more money than Purdue? I assume they have booster with deeper pockets, but doesn't Purdue make more money from the B1G than Louisville receives as a new member of the ACC?

EDIT: I looked it up. I guess Louisville does have more money than Purdue with revenue about $35 million more in 2016-17.

If Brohm does leave, hopefully he's honest with the recruits instead of bailing after they sign their LOI's.

boy what a kick to the nuts that would be for purdue fans... after being deep in the wilderness under Hazel, feeling like you're close to getting out, only to fall into despair again
