YAWN.

Michigan is outscoring teams 188-63 in the 2nd half. And 30 of those points that the other team has scored have come in garbage time. They're definitely a 2nd-half team this year.

Why the fuck did they play Milton???
November 10th, 2018 at 6:42 PM ^
I'd love to hear from Harbaugh his reasoning, but I doubt we will. No pass attempts by a backup QB is also disappointing.
November 10th, 2018 at 6:42 PM ^
He's played in, what, two games now? What's to lose? Not his redshirt.
November 10th, 2018 at 6:51 PM ^
With still 4, possibly 5 games to play?
November 10th, 2018 at 6:56 PM ^
In any reasonable scenario, with Peters as the backup, how much playing time do you really anticipate him getting in more than one of those games?
November 10th, 2018 at 8:07 PM ^
And if Milton is decidedly the next best option ahead of Peters, and it comes down to him playing to give us the best chance to win a game with major stakes, who gives a flying **** about a redshirt.
November 10th, 2018 at 11:10 PM ^
I was hoping he was going to get a full Quarter and sling it around a little. I thought it was great that he got in for the Wisky game, but I dislike his game usage in this one.
November 10th, 2018 at 7:04 PM ^
He won’t be playing against osu or in a major bowl. He’s basically got one game left. Get a grip.
November 10th, 2018 at 7:21 PM ^
You can't say that with any certainty. There are 5 potential games left, the possibility of needed a 3rd string QB even for a couple plays is very real.
November 10th, 2018 at 7:33 PM ^
5 potential games left. What's the likelihood of needing the 3rd string QB in 3 or more of them and not having McCaffrey back for the post-season? I don't think you coach worrying about long shot parlays, but if that all happens, then playing for the title is worth using up Milton's redshirt.
November 11th, 2018 at 12:56 AM ^
All it takes is for Shea to get injured and Peter's helmet comes off for a play. Would you want Milton to burn his redshirt for that scenario?
November 11th, 2018 at 6:55 AM ^
Harbaugh might have answered that question. For just one snap, it could be Michael Sessa.
November 11th, 2018 at 6:59 AM ^
No, of course not. But how is that not an insane scenario?
Milton's still got 2 more games to play. He's not on the precipice of burning his redshirt. You can call a timeout and Peters doesn't have to come out. You can go wildcat for one play.
November 11th, 2018 at 1:32 PM ^
Go wildcat with DPJ or Ambry Thomas.
November 11th, 2018 at 10:32 AM ^
Just kind of weird to play him, but only for two drives and never attempting a pass. Seems like a bit of a waste.
November 11th, 2018 at 11:51 AM ^
There was a pass play, but he took a sack after running around for a while.
November 11th, 2018 at 1:25 PM ^
To be fair to Milton, that was also with insta pressure by the O line
November 10th, 2018 at 6:49 PM ^
Milton is not ahead of Peters, and that's for the better at this stage. Peters has had a tough time but seriously, I'd rather have him in an emergency.
November 10th, 2018 at 7:01 PM ^
That's got to be it. Harbaugh said he knew who was #2. Peters was the logical choice and he put him in first. Leaving Peters in with the backup OL would be a risk, but he even had Milton run the ball once. There's just no way Milton's #2 on the depth chart.
November 10th, 2018 at 6:51 PM ^
I didn’t understand the backup quarterback selection at all. Basically gave both of them no real game practice. Wasted opportunity in that regard.
November 10th, 2018 at 7:26 PM ^
Because Peters clearly didn’t need the reps
November 10th, 2018 at 7:34 PM ^
I was almost pissed at Evans for scoring so quickly when Peters came in, lol.
Tbe obvious plan was to rotate series between Peters and Milton. That's how you keep QBs engaged during practice at all times.
November 10th, 2018 at 9:32 PM ^
How was that the plan when Milton came in for two possessions and Peters only took one snap?
November 10th, 2018 at 8:05 PM ^
It tells me they don't even consider him an option in the competitive portion of games. Might as well get him some garbage time reps when the opportunity presents itself.
November 11th, 2018 at 12:32 PM ^
Because there is no scenario where Milton not getting his redshirt this year harms the team in any way. That said he still probably gets his redshirt.
November 10th, 2018 at 6:41 PM ^
I will say, I will give Rutgers credit for pulling out the "Let's Get Weird" portion of the playbook, but we seemed to adjust nicely to it and, by the end of the game, it was pretty dominant again. The coaches did a decent job of refining the gameplan as it was unfolding, I though.
November 10th, 2018 at 6:41 PM ^
Won the game...now let's hear that there were no significant injuries.
Bring on the Hoosiers.
November 10th, 2018 at 6:43 PM ^
Let's hope Hill's injury isn't significant.
November 11th, 2018 at 12:09 AM ^
Harbaugh said Hill was in concussion protocol, so we can likely assume he will be back for IU and definitely for osu
November 10th, 2018 at 6:41 PM ^
Rutger should feel pretty good about themselves. They played us every bit as tough as Penn State did.
November 10th, 2018 at 11:29 PM ^
rutger ran the ball better than Penn State and got more total yards.
November 10th, 2018 at 6:42 PM ^
Did Michigan win? Yes.
I'm good.
November 10th, 2018 at 6:42 PM ^
Putting Milton in and not having him throw was so dumb. I swear if he loses his redshirt because of this game I'll be pissed.
November 10th, 2018 at 7:06 PM ^
Maybe learn the redshirt rules, dude. He’s nowhere near losing if.
November 10th, 2018 at 7:06 PM ^
Maybe learn the redshirt rules, dude. He’s nowhere near losing it.
November 10th, 2018 at 7:30 PM ^
You can say that again.
November 10th, 2018 at 8:14 PM ^
November 10th, 2018 at 8:20 PM ^
And likely McNamara and Bailey following in the next 2 classes.
I think Hoke’s QB recruiting has scarred us to question every bit of QB eligibility.
November 10th, 2018 at 9:28 PM ^
November 11th, 2018 at 1:35 PM ^
My guess is Milton is honored to have the opportunity to play as a true freshman and help Michigan get to the playoff. I don't believe he's thinking one bit about burning his redshirt. Only we fret about that stuff.
November 10th, 2018 at 7:20 PM ^
Nobody gives a shit if your pissed.
November 10th, 2018 at 7:40 PM ^
Obviously you didn’t watch the press conference. Coach asked what Mr. WolverineinLA thought of him playing Milton but telling him not to throw the ball, regardless of the coverage.
He deserves to know.
November 10th, 2018 at 7:43 PM ^
You’re
November 10th, 2018 at 11:30 PM ^
You know he took a sack right? As in, the coaches called a pass on the only 3rd down of the drive, which is the only time you are going to throw in that situation.
He will not lose his redshirt because of this unless both Patterson and Peter's goes down a d if that happens the season is ruined. So, if tgat happens you should be pissed about the seasonsgoing down because the top 3 QBs got hurt again.
November 11th, 2018 at 7:00 AM ^
I don't see Milton ever leading this team for more than a change of pace.
Dmac is next, followed by McNamara.
November 10th, 2018 at 6:45 PM ^
