He gets a lot of crap for voicing his opinion, but what he said wasn’t exactly wrong? When he criticized John O’Korn last year he was right, when he said some of the players were trash Saturday night he was right. They played like shit. We can’t pretend to be mad at him when we said the same shit Saturday during and after the game.

...but when you work for the Big Ten Network, you cannot say what Braylon said without consequence. You can certainly critique plays and players and coaches, but using words like "weak" and "trash" when you work for a network which has to maintain a relationship with the conference's member schools? You'd be naive to think that they wouldn't suspend or can you for that.

Thank you Catchafire. The haters now are the same ones who were calling for Beilein's head a year and a half ago. If you're going to hate on our team, our players, our coach, just go away and find another team to "support". Don't need you and don't want you around here.

The Edwards' tweets and the various controversies regarding the "endowment" of the #1 jersey (how'd that happen anyway, Anthony Carter asks) just isn't worth it.

The Athletic Department should just say thanks, but no thanks, and send his donation back to him.

The costs of his donation(s) just aren't worth it.  A university with an endowment of billions doesn't need this garbage for the relative pittance.

If you think Shea was the problem in the last game, you are the problem with the fan base. 66% completions under constant pressure, sacks killing drives deep in ND territory, dropped TD by Gentry, dropped FG snap by Hart, no run game. Last years QB would have gotten us shutout on that side of the ball.

As I said in a thread yesterday, he got the call from BTN while still at the ND game viewing party for UM football legends at Soaring Eagle DURING the game.

His dad was there and was pissed at him. Braylon almost got in a fight with Chris Floyd (which would have ended very, very badly for him).

Stick a fork in his broadcasting "career" -- he's done. Stan's a great guy, though.

I watched a number of Stanley Edwards' games at Michigan Stadium.  Really good running back and Bo really seemed to like him (and Larry Ricks, who always ran through the hole with BOTH HANDS on the ball).

Seemed like a really good guy on some really good teams.

Braylon has always been a "me first" individual. I had several friends on the team when Braylon was on top of his game. They all rolled their eyes whenever people asked about Braylon. He was a great college player (with an occasional case of the drops), but he has always had questionable character and was universally regarded as an entitled, spoiled brat and a**hole by his teammates.

Stop with the stupidity. It was not at all true. Ruiz is not weak. Not even close. Kid made maybe a couple of mistakes in his first college start at a new position. Shea was not at all scared. Not even close. He stuck his nose in there and kept going at them all the way to the end. 66% passing and made the most out of many broken plays.

Finally, and most importantly, this team is NOT trash. Not even close. The team never quit, despite several bad breaks and lucky plays.

Whoever you are, wake up and stop being a fool. Look at the facts and stop supporting foolhardy and childish attacks on the heart and determination of some excellent and high quality individuals.

Ruiz was the #1 center in high school football and was recruited here to play center - in his own words "I was really born to play center". He started a few games last year as a guard because we urgently needed him and he did well even though it wasn't his primary position. You would think there would be an improvement after moving back to his natural position, the only one position he played growing up, center.

I'm definitely not saying he's trash but simply put he did not play well. I'll be watching him closely throughout the season and I'll see if he takes Braylon's words and uses them as motivation, or if he folds.

Not playing well (I don’t agree but that is just an opinion) is a far cry from being trash. Kid played his first college game at center on the biggest possible stage. Was in charge of all snaps and line calls as a true sophomore. From my perspective, did very well and also made a few mistakes.

It is not too much to ask to not call somebody weak, trash, or co-sign such stupidity. Period.

I never called him trash. And at no point did I co-sign Braylon calling him trash. Did you even read my post?

Your opinion on Ruiz’s performance is yours and I don’t have video to really debate you or stats, so I’ll that be. I just recommend slowing down and reading posts properly in the future though Big John Lives On 67.

I never accused you of anything. I was speaking in general to those who are lending even the slightest credibility to Braylon’s comments.

#1) The comments are not even accurate. Ruiz is not weak. Nor is he trash. Nor is he even in the top twenty of the reasons we lost. Shea played a gutsy if not perfect game in his first start under very challenging conditions. He also is not in the top twenty of reasons that we lost. Nobody on this team is trash. By all accounts, they are all quality individuals especially in comparison to their direct competitors.

#2) You should never make this kind of comment in public about anybody, especially those on your former team. This is behavior unbecoming of a Michigan Man.

CHUKA, your comments about Ruiz and the players being “grown ass men” are coming perilously close to co-signing Braylon’s stupidity.  You should, in fact, be back pedaling from this type of nonsense as fast as possible. Not giving it quarter.

I know its his.  I am just surprised that someone that attended and was on the team would refer to "Big Blue."  You rarely hear that, and always (until now, I guess) from someone not previously affiliated with the university.

Perhaps the official site of the athletic department should change their URL address to MGoBigBlue.com and this site should be named MGoBigBlog.com?

Braylon reminds me of those 35 year old former athletes you play in Gus Macker basketball tournaments.  They still think they are big stuff, have trouble letting go of the game, still think they are all that, and stroke their ego by beating a bunch of scrubs in a meaningless basketball game.

Except he really was all that... at least for us. He was a 2x 1st team All-B1G WR (03,04), 2004 AA, 2004 Biletnikoff award winner, 2004 B1G MVP, 2004 B1G Offensive POTY.

I get being mad or whatever but at least make some sense.

To be honest I don't get this crazy outrage. Was what he did a dumb move? Yes. Was he partially right based on what we saw? Yes. (In terms of the overall team not specific players)

Instead of Harbaugh and co. complaining to the media about Braylon, how about they use this as motivation and get better. Lets win some meaningful games, the honeymoon is over. No excuses now.

And his teams only had 8, 10, 10, 9 wins, he was 1-2 against ND, 1-3 against OSU and lost to a 7-5 Bobby Williams MSU team.

So, by his own metric, he and his team were trash.

Shit the best thing is he asked on twitter if UofM is as good as Iowa, he was only 2-2 against them, Bwaaaahaaaa.

I agree with Braylon and I’m sure it was the heat of the moment that got him upset. But regardless you need to be more professional and can’t use the language he was using especially when it’s directed at specific players that really can’t be blamed for the outcome. The blame belongs to Harbaugh alone
