[11W] Big Ten alternate uniforms, as created by players
Eleven Warriors did an interesting feature at B1G media days, and asked players in attendance to design alternate uniforms for their team. Tyree Kinnel designed Michigan's, although Nike might not be a big fan of his shoulder stripes...
Kinnel has no taste.
At the end of the day, he is still from Ohio.
I love alternate uniforms. However, I think you should “edit” your title and replace Nike with everyone. Some of those do look really cool.
I do NOT like alternate uniforms because get off my lawn, but I love the Minnesota kid's inclusion of the goofy ass gopher on his. They should definitely wear those at least once.
Thanks! I can die happy now.
The Minnesota one was a thing of beauty, and they should consider making that their permanent uniform
Put the buck teeth on the front of the helmet with the eyes and smile on either side of the helmet. Have the opposing players look at those teeth every snap would be badass
I really can appreciate the quality content that 11W puts out. Makes me jealous...in the mean time I'll continue to pass by draftageddons and reading something about monkeys and mayoral candidates and trying to decipher all of Brian & co. vague/out-dated/obscure references and analogies within their ramblings.
The front-page has never appealed to me. It's only been the message board. I really wish we could get some more mainstream reporting and less snark/nerdism from MGOBLOG staff
Thank god Brian doesn't agree with you. If you want mainstream cookie-cutter stuff like that, head over to Maize & Brew or any one of the many other blogs that can give that to you. Thankfully, we get something unique at this place.
I concur.. SHS sounds like a troll and a racist.
I'm assuming you're joking or being snarky on the racist part. Still negged, though.
For instance...perusing 11W front page I see this
Like...oh...wow! Its an article with a title that I can actually comprehend! I actually know wtf I'm going to be reading about. And oh! Wow! when I click on it its actually a coherent article and not filled with hyperlinks to annoying references that only 1% of the population actually understands.
I like our content, but I too don't get some of the references. But then maybe it's not intended for me to get, so I just skim past it...
Am I supposed to know this AXE reference? What did I miss? Why can't you just write like not a psychopath?
I'm guessing he's referring to the questioner as a high-school level educated doosh bag... Since that's the type of person who generally douses himself in a can of axe body spray.
At least that's how I took it..?
I'm pretty sure it's as simple as douches wear AXE. The reporter is a douche. Not a difficult reference.
I get the feeling you like simple writing because you're a simple person whose brain just doesn't understand moderately complex writing. No offense.
This is the stuff you like? That's really embarrassing. No offense.
This is possibly WD trying to get everyone worked up over the blog. Your posting history is quite interesting. I smell a troll who is only using this account because you think you have built up enough time with it... therefore people won’t suspect what you really are.
It's called voice. All professional writers have one. If it's not for you then fine. But it obviously appeals to a lot of people, so I don't know that mocking it is the right answer.
If you want more mainstream content check out mainstream sports news. Sounds like you might this site ESPN.com, they've got a lot of fun reporting and some cool videos! If you want more Michigan-focused news go to Mlive.com. They even have commenters like we do, except you don't have to dig through a bunch of references and context that's over your head. You can read about how excited all the coaches are, who is most clutch or elite, and find out which team really wants it more.
"...wants it more"+your user name
Hahahahahahaha I'll see myself out now
If you want that type of content, there are dozens of other Michigan blogs to get it from. Maize and Brew (the Michigan SBNation site), MLive, Freep, 247, Rivals, etc. Apparently this blog's niche doesn't appeal to you and that's fine, no blog or writing style or for everyone.
I personally will continue to enjoy the content here, and I am not going to go to Maize and Brew's site and complain that they don't make enough obscure 80s references.
So because you don't like their humor and don't like to follow hyperlinks, the content is bad?
Talk about a 404notfound, am I right?
PHP rulez!!
DFW for the ersatz win!!
Unverified Voracity and all that jizz. I mean Jazz.
Jazz is artsy-fartsy. I'll bet Brian and Ace listen to it while their toking up and putting on ascots.
Or else Wizz Kalifa, which, who the f#$% is that? Am I right?
I said am I right?
Oh wow. Michigan wants to beat Ohio State. Fascinating article.
Oh wow. Michigan wants to beat Ohio State. Fascinating article.
The content on 11 Warriors is this weird mix of good and informative articles, homer fluff pieces, and high school-level humor that is on par with the worst of RCMB. People who make stupid ass jokes in the comments (like referring to Michigan as scUM or calling him Hairball) are praised by the other commentors. Their Twitter feed is... indescribably juvenile, and their followers eat it up. I don't know. It's hard for me to objectively understand how someone could 11 Warriors to be better in terms of content quality.
They have nothing close to the in-depth game week information that Mgo has. And while some of the people on this message board are insufferable, it pales in comparison to 11W. It's 15 pages of "Walmart wolvie, TTUN, and Meet-chicken." It reeks of people who have nothing life but Browns and Buckeyes. Also, I'm not sure but I doubt the have an HTTV equivalent either.
I do like that they have a daily rundown of relevant stories. Not quite as clever and enjoyable as UV but it's still useful. At some point as much as I enjoy having to go to multiple websites, I would love for this info to be aggregated into one site. I enjoy Wolverine Wire....and TTB...and now there's a lounge or couch or something also, plus the Athletic (that I don't subscribe to)...Maybe just a daily rundown of relevant stories..it would unclog the message board for sure. And a weekly piece on Wolverines that have gone pro in various sports might be interesting as well.
"I really can appreciate the quality content that 11W puts out"
This has got to be a joke, right?
Minnesota really needs to get rid of that cartoon gopher sometime soon or atleast don't put it on any game-used uniforms. It's smiling with big buck teeth. I'd be offended if I was an actual gopher...
Thanks, PCCBF (Politically Correct Cleveland Baseball Fan)!
Isn't every osu uniform a alternate since they never wear the same thing twice?
So Isaiah Prince just changed the pants to red? I think Minnesotas look fantastic.
I think he added more stickers on that stupid helmet.
I wouldn't mind seeing the helmet colors inverted for one game.
Woof - that's a bad opinion.
I've always been interested in seeing Michigan do this. However, this past year Wayne Memorial had the helmet inverted and it was not a good look
Kinnel made the worse one
Rutgers was the worst. With "New Jersey" across the chest instead of, say, the school you attend???
But I definitely agree that Kinnel's design is bad and that he should feel bad.
To be fair, it is also "The State College Of New Jersey", but then who wants SCNJ across the front of their uniform?
As for Kinnel's design......my eyes hurt from that.
Well Rutgers is actually called “Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey.”
There is only one thing missing to Kinnel's design. Chrome.
The inverted winged helmet will never not make me puke
Brian Lewerke's Sparty take is butt ugly - those bristles around top of the helmet are not too good.
Then again - I am not sure you can make a Sparty uniform look good. Except a torn and shredded one on Lewerke, following several vicious hits by Gary and Winovich...
I like when MSU wears all green so they blend into the background and I can pretend they are not even there.
(But if Boise can’t wear all-blue on the blue turf, why can Sparty wear all-green on green turf?)
Because their stench is so bad, they are easy to find even when you can't see them.
I want to see Sparty dare to wear a throwback with a winged helmet, like they did back in the day.
There should have been a trigger warning on the link. I just had a Rich-Rod flashback.
