How much milk do you really drink?
Those Buckeyes and Spartans really suck, eh?
And to hell with Notre Dame, amiright?
Why has QB play been hot garbage since the plane landed in Iowa City in 2016?
because the locker rooms are pink
It shouldn't take THAT long to get over a pink locker room.
Why is there a plus-size female model with a giant ass all over the front page of this website?
Why has the universe gone stark, raving bonkers since the plane landed in Iowa City in 2016?
How happy were you when DJ Durkin took the Maryland job? Did your excitement level change following the realization that he drank 20 jagerbombs before the OSU game?
Who has it better than us?
NOOOOOOOOBODY!!
When will you win something
I already know how he'd answer that.
Like your mom doesn't count?
Jim, you always say that QB's and Kickers can make the most progress during the summer. Who has stood out at those positions?
Jim, with all the experience at LB, which players that didn't play last year will see the field this year?
Jim, where do you expect Filiaga to end up? Inside or outside?
Sorry, that's three.
Those are all good though.
Coach, how do you feel about Mgoblog version 3.0?
Brady Hoke gets one media day celeb answer:
"It looked great in practice but just wasn't executed properly."
+1, extremely underrated.
This is an A+ response. Well done.
I like to hear the blogging to know it's good.
A simple yes or no.....no expounding. Is the Michigan State game a “must-win” game?
Until he answers. Then you are like, “WTF. How can you say that?”
Why has the team always fallen apart in the closing minutes of every big game (‘15 MSU, ‘16 OSU, ‘16 FSU, ‘17 MSU, ‘17 OSU - notice a trend?) over the last three years? And how is this year going to be different? A year when you have at least five huge matchups and all three rivals on the road.
All but one of those previous games involved Michigan having the lead with less than one minute to go in the game. All blown leads. All losses.
Sorry, but forgot about the ‘17 MSU game. We definitely didn’t have the lead in the last minute of that game.
While we played OSU well in 17 and had a better game plan, you can't say we we're winning that one until the end, either.
‘15 MSU - Once-in-a-lifetime fluke
’16 OSU - A literal game of inches against one of the best teams in the nation (with a hurt QB)
’17 FSU - Eh...
’17 MSU/‘17 OSU - Unreliable QB play
The other element in 2017 seemed to be the defense running out of gas in the 4th. While obviously the offense not being able to stay on the field was the main reason, I’m excited to see how they hold up with new S&C programming - has to get better right?
This is the answer. There's no trend here because these were all different games, lost for different reasons with different players. Except for the '17 MSU game, I think he's done his best coaching in those games. Especially the FSU bowl game - I'll say that was his best game day coaching job of his tenure at UM, so far.
You make great points but there has to be a breaking point here. Everything falls back on the coach and the cold hard truth here is that Harbaugh has to start winning those games. You can nitpick all you want but it falls on the skipper every time.
If he loses those again this year the guy you're thinking of replacing him with will have a full cupboard so no excuses! Who is that guy again?
Never once in my life have i said i wanted Harbaugh gone so I’m not sure what you’re talking about
Then why the ultimatums about cold hard truth, and falls on the skipper, and such? Harbaugh knows that, and so do we. When has he ever blamed the players for a loss, ala Hoke and Rich Rod? You think he doesn't want to win?
Take the wins and losses for what they are. Find the good in them - you'll feel better in the long run.
I feel fine - I’ve never said he blames players. I was replying to a comment stating that eventually you can’t just nitpick every loss. Eventually you have to start winning them. Look how long it took Dabo to get Clemson rolling. I’m fine with patiently waiting on Harbaugh to get Michigan to that point because cycling through coaches every 3-4 years has been brutal.
If you try to find the cross-section of guys who can recruit well, who can field a team of kids we can actually be proud of, and who can coach the hell out of the game of football, well, standing there all by himself is Jim Fucking Harbaugh. Give him a lifetime deal right now.
Internet guys and their cold hard cliches--I mean truths. Fneh.
So if we do put it all on the skipper, he fired his S&C coach and brought in someone of high pedigree as well as secured the transfer of one an electric and experienced QB.
Seems like a solid gameplan to this layman.
I think he would point to the strength and conditioning staff he just canned. Said we weren’t tough enough.
Yep - This is one of my hot takes for 2018. Ben Herbert will be a catalyst for this team.
Has the ohio state game been emphasized?
Off the record answers to
Which schools/coaches do you know cheat? Any former assistant coaches you wish you could have back?
Answer from the podium
Which players have improved the most from last season? How much say does your staff have in who starts and playing time?
Ginger or Mary Ann?
Both, but Mary Ann first.
Is that Harbaugh's official answer?
Yeah. I always thought Ginger was overrated.
Good choice since Mary Ann is still alive.
Aren't they both still alive?
Jeannie.
This season, you go on the road to three major rivals who are all highly regarded, at least in the pre-season. Michigan has not won a road game against a ranked opponent since 2006. What are your plans to set your team up for greater success in these tougher environments and break this cycle?
Might sound like a troll comment but I'm really in the mindset now that it's basically impossible for us to win vs good competition on the road. Hell, last season we looked uninspired against bad competition on the road. The answer probably wouldn't do much but maybe encourage my hopes for this upcoming season a little more.
Maybe, maybe not. At least we won't have to wait long to find out.
Will you rough Shea up before he takes the field against ND?
Will everything be alright?
