OT: Tebow released by the Jets [Locked]
Commence ESPN Tebow Mania with round the clock coverage.
Mod edit: Locked the thread because the discussion went way off course. Partially my fault for not being here in real time, but there's no reason a discussion about a football player on a sports site needs to turn into a discussion of his personal life when it's something against the sites rules. Mantim Te'bow?

Maybe Lennay Kekua was actually Tim Tebow, and the whole thing is a cover up for the next great power couple. Look for Tebow to join the Chargers!

This will be the fate of Braxton Miller and every future QB in Urban's offense.
Seems like a affable chap. I hope the best for him.
I'm glad there's a place I can go to hear about Tim Tebow and the Jets. I'm just a little disappointed that we don't get enough Kobe and Tiger coverage on Mgoblog.

like the excessive media coverage of Tim Tebow, but I find it hard not to like the actual human being that is Tim Tebow. Can't blame him for the hard-on that ESPN and the rest of America has for him.
I personally hope that he finds a way to have a long and successful NFL career. He is a heck of a role model, and I would rather root for him than a lot of the other dudes populating current NFL rosters.
I'm free!

I know the Jags already said no, but Tebow to the Jags has to happen. Tebow + Denard? Please?

Yeah, Christians are EVIL! Seriously, I'd love to see this type of vitrol spewed against a Jewish or Muslim player. "Yeah, Sam Green will have a great career swindling his community out of their retirement money just like Bernie Madoff!"

Christians aren't evil. But you might keep in mind that those of us who aren't Christian are a little turned off by your insistence that we either A. become Christian or B. at least live according to your rules. I understand that our unwillingness to live as you tell us to live somehow becomes persecution of Christians. We're sorry.

Both are good guys, but Denard is willing to do whatever it takes to play in the NFL. Tebow is willing to do whatever it takes to remain a QB in the NFL, and that's why he's struggling. No coach in their right mind wants Tebow as their QB.

Mark it down maybe, Tim Tebow to the Patriots.

As a big jets fan, I think the circus is finally coming to an end. Thank goodness!

It's alright, God will find a place for him on a different team.

Imagine Henne, Denard, and Tebow all in the backfield for the Jags.. Potential for a trick play every play!!

Tim's problem is that he's just not very good at playing QB. I read that during last season he told Ryan that he was tired of "gimmicky" offenses and wanted to be a traditional NFL QB ... but i'm pretty sure that requires being able to pass effectively and with regularity.
However, the Jets' decision to not play him last year might have also been due to playing time related bonuses in his contract. Unless he was good enough to be the QB, it was likely not worth it to the Jets to play him.

The Rams don't have the offense to score in those situations like other teams and even with a great draft are a year or two away from that.
Bradford is the QB no question, and if Fisher made it clear he's a backup QB and only will see the field in those situations or injury, we could turn 3 into 7.

After a few regular season games when the QBs injuries start piling up, he will be picked up by someone as insurance.
He'll play again, but unless everyone in the world is missing something he'll be a situational player at best. He's just not accurate enough in the NFL, and no amount of media blessing and PR spin will change that. I definitely still see a place for him in the NFL, but anyone thinking he is a future starter outside of injuries is going to be surprised.
