6 years exactly after Bo passes away, I think he takes over Les Miles body for a quick performance to remind us all that it is, after all, beat Ohio week!

Ever meet Bo in person? People have this concept that he was somehow this old crotchy grouch, but that was far from the case. He had a tremendous sense of humor, a sparkling warm and fun side, could cut through more crap and pomp faster than anyone I ever met. I was a summer building director for 2 years and met him in his office before the high school football camps back in 1980 and 1981. I guarantee you Bo could and would easily do that (minus the expletive deletives) and I've seen him do that on a number of occassions. Ever see his sideline antics on the holding call again us on a faked punt in his last Rose Bowl game????

I had the chance to meet Bo once and I agree - he had a really warm, engaging personality.

Loved the bit about his time in Ann Arbor and his reference to Bo, among other things, especially how he ended that segment with "just so you know..."

I am glad Brady Hoke is our coach.

I could also see Christopher Walken and Al Pacino do a good Miles...
November 18th, 2012 at 2:10 PM ^
Walken maybe, Pacino, no way.
November 18th, 2012 at 10:15 AM ^
I don't see anything really wrong here....he is quite excited
November 18th, 2012 at 10:26 AM ^
I didn't know that it was possible to outcrazy John L Smith, but apparently it is.
November 18th, 2012 at 10:35 AM ^
Not even in the same zip code as John L Smith
November 18th, 2012 at 4:23 PM ^
JLS is creepy crazy, Miles is goofball crazy... but crazy is crazy.
November 18th, 2012 at 10:34 AM ^
He's either a drunk, on prescription pain killers, or needs to be put on some psychotropic meds for a chemical imbalance.
November 18th, 2012 at 10:34 AM ^
but I respect the message he's sending to the media and to his players.
November 18th, 2012 at 10:40 AM ^
I'm glad I watched that piece
November 18th, 2012 at 10:42 AM ^
I was at Death Valley yesterday for this game. 8 turnovers and yackity sax on both sides of the ball. I was a Michigan fan wearing purple in the Ole Miss section.... it was freaking great.
November 18th, 2012 at 10:47 AM ^
Too much fertilizer on the grass......
November 18th, 2012 at 10:48 AM ^
I totally respect his message. I would respect it more if he actually lived by it instead of oversigning and taking scholarships away from the underperformers he is so lauding.
November 18th, 2012 at 10:50 AM ^
I think he and John L switched margaritas or something.
November 18th, 2012 at 10:50 AM ^
"You go and give them a big kiss on the mouth...if you're a girl." The rest was batshit insane, but that line was pretty funny.
November 18th, 2012 at 1:35 PM ^
Really? If anything in that "speech" bothered me, it was that line. Sounds kinda homophobic to me.
November 18th, 2012 at 2:16 PM ^
Oversensativity.
November 18th, 2012 at 10:55 AM ^
That being said, I think he's far better suited to LSU than Michigan.
I think JLS is in a category all by himself. That's what slapping yourself at a presser does.

Why do some people around here carry such disdain for miles? He played here, he comes from the Schembechler tree, it appears that he wanted to coach here after Carr, and he's one of the most respected names in college football.
I find it amusing that people want to disown harbaugh, despite being more of an integral and respected part of this program than all but 20-30 people in its history, due to some slightly disloyal, yet true comments about our academics relative to stanford's. Nevertheless, has miles even done so much as take a tiny dig at michigan that would warrant all of you loving the dude?
November 18th, 2012 at 12:18 PM ^
Rumors, and I want to emphasize "rumors" are that Miles was at the forefront of Moeller's bar meltdown in 95.
November 18th, 2012 at 1:24 PM ^
That one may be an urban legend. But there were people on Carr's staff who were upset with Miles over how he acted during some recruiting battles. (Exactly what he said/did is not clear, but it rubbed Lloyd the wrong way.)
November 18th, 2012 at 3:12 PM ^
It's the lunatic fringe holding a 20 year old grudge who put self-interest and cult of personality ahead of the interest of our school. This [same] hysteria manifested itself when it came to discussions of hiring Jim Harbaugh.

November 18th, 2012 at 12:25 PM ^
That sounded very staged and pre-planned. He went from cursing one minute to smiling and joking the next. To me that means he wasn't really mad and was just acting to make his point. I don't like the fakeness. Be real, be yourself....if you're pissed be pissed, if not don't be. Don't fake it.
November 18th, 2012 at 2:14 PM ^
Where did it imply he was mad?
November 18th, 2012 at 6:16 PM ^
His outrage seemed a bit phony at first to me as well, and yeah, when he stopped on a dime and changed from angry and hostile to happy and funny, that was just creepy.
November 18th, 2012 at 12:48 PM ^
and famous. I love this country!
November 18th, 2012 at 1:03 PM ^
I really enjoyed that. Classic Les Miles. He was having fun putting on the press, clearly.
November 18th, 2012 at 1:13 PM ^
He's a great coach and i know how much we wanted him but i say this with respect THANK GOD WE DIDNT HIRE HIM
November 18th, 2012 at 1:21 PM ^
He's a weird guy. But overall, I think his heart is in the right place here.
November 18th, 2012 at 2:11 PM ^
Was in Vegas a couple weeks ago and there were tons of LSU fans around. Not a single one of them had any confidence in Les. He's truly the Mad Hatter to them. A total nutball capable of sinking their chances with a single fourth down call. These antics may seem quaint from a distance, but having this guy running your program has to be a drag.
November 18th, 2012 at 2:57 PM ^
How quickly they forget that their program did nothing for 40 years. Saban built them into a national powerhouse and Miles has maintained it. At this point (it's his eighth season) you can't say he's just riding Saban's coat tails.
November 18th, 2012 at 2:15 PM ^
Anyone eles wonder what Les Miles meant when he said that he over-played his physical limitations at Michigan?
November 18th, 2012 at 2:21 PM ^
Probably just self-deprecating humor.
November 18th, 2012 at 2:39 PM ^
What is the context? Is he answering some question, or just going off on his own?
November 18th, 2012 at 3:52 PM ^
The context is that he barely beat Ole Miss. I would assume someone asked him why they played so poorly as to almost lose to Ole Miss.
