Speedy recovery Chris Wormley.

I hope that this is just a temporary setback for one of my favorite players in this year's class. Hopefully, his rehab will go well and he can use the time to get ahead in school. Good luck to him.

Get well soon, Chris! Hang in there.
August 14th, 2012 at 7:42 PM ^
Well....that just sucks today. Good luck to the kid and here is to a quick recovery for him. Time for someone else to step up and be ready when called upon.
August 14th, 2012 at 7:43 PM ^
I believe the staff is wanting to rs most of the fr dlineman, but it sucks cause he is going to have to spend this yr getting ready for next yr....
August 14th, 2012 at 7:43 PM ^
I really was thinking we might see him at some point this year - this is definitely tough to hear.
Hopefully, he makes a full recovery and is back at it as soon as possible after rehab. If the film on him is any indication, he has awesome potential at DE, so hopefully he can get healthy and realize it here at Michigan.

August 14th, 2012 at 7:45 PM ^
I too thought he was a DE at Michigan, not a Purdue QB :(
August 14th, 2012 at 7:46 PM ^
What?
August 15th, 2012 at 12:46 PM ^
he's referring to AIRBHG....it's a joke.

You obviously aren't as addicted to this site as the rest of us, if you didn't get that. Geesh get a life.

If Batman can heal his broken back in 3 months, I'm sure Chris can heal his knee in a couple weeks, right?
But in all seriousness, I am sorry to hear about this and wish Chris a speedy, successful recovery.
August 15th, 2012 at 1:22 AM ^
We just gotta find a giant hole in the ground for him to climb out of, or something else that's metaphorical
August 14th, 2012 at 7:46 PM ^
Well that sucks.
Hopefully he makes a full recovery. One of him or Strobel was most likely going to redshirt, so now that decision has been made, although Wormley seemed to be more college ready.
More importantly than this year, hopefully he makes a full recovery. He has incredible potential, and hopefully an injury like this doesn't de-rail it.
August 14th, 2012 at 7:48 PM ^
Well that just about sucks. He was one of the freshman I was looking to forward to seeing on the field this year.
August 14th, 2012 at 7:51 PM ^
Well crap....
August 14th, 2012 at 7:53 PM ^
As an incoming college freshmen myself, I just can't imagine. What a bummer. Prayers for a quick recovery.
August 14th, 2012 at 7:56 PM ^
Get well soon Chris. You're a young guy and you'll bounce back. Take care of yourself.

Hope he keeps his head up and comes back at 100% next year

This sucks, he was probably going to get the 2nd most playing time among defensive freshman (Bolden #1)...
With that said, I have a "sleeper" for all of you to remember. Keith Heitzman. Look for KH to battle Nathan Brink for the #2 spot at strongside DE behind Roh.

Third for Womley.
Nontheless, my post was overrated or offtopic, not flaming. I demand a redo.
August 14th, 2012 at 8:45 PM ^
I really wish there was a "Disagree" moderation option.
Either way, I don't think we would have seen THAT much of Wormley this year.

balls, this is a good time for it to happen, but really unfortunate all the same.
August 14th, 2012 at 8:08 PM ^
Well damn that sucks. Silver lining is that it was his frosh year.

Oh man, I never thought to apply that Friday reference to Wormley. I'm not sure how I'd feel about him getting a perm, but I think I'd probably be alright with it.
August 14th, 2012 at 8:14 PM ^
On the bright side... well... uh... shitballs. There is no bright side.
Get healthy, kid. And watch out for Heitzman. Apparently he's been eating people.
August 14th, 2012 at 8:43 PM ^
Heitzman has always stumped me. He was 1st Team All-State DE in the largest division in Ohio, over a ton of great DEs. He had crazy production playing in said largest division, earned a trip to the Big 33 game, where he owned fools. Hoke and Mattison took one look at him and said "DO WANT" as soon as they got here.
He seems like an Ojemudia type where his only real gripe is size. Well, he's big now. I'm surprised he hasn't been talked about more, probably due to his meh recruiting rankings. I think he ends up with a great career here though, and he'll be the Jake Ryan of 2012.
August 14th, 2012 at 9:41 PM ^
He's still young. His time will come.
August 14th, 2012 at 10:17 PM ^
I've come around on Heitzman. I wasn't too impressed with what I saw in high school, but he's put on a good chunk of weight/muscle since he arrived. I didn't think he was athletic enough to be a small-ish defensive end, but if he can maintain some of his athleticism at his current weight, then he's got a chance to be good.

He's going to be an awesome RS Frashman for us next year. Get well Chris!
August 14th, 2012 at 8:43 PM ^
All the same though this is an unfortunate way to go about it. I hope he is not in too much pain and rehabs well. All the best Mr. Wormley!
August 14th, 2012 at 8:49 PM ^
Get better soon Chris! Dont worry you will beat Ohio next year while on the field.
August 14th, 2012 at 8:53 PM ^
Can he take a medical grayshirt ... then a redshirt next year and then have 4 more years left after that?
August 14th, 2012 at 8:57 PM ^
I don't think there's such thing as a medical grayshirt, but a kid who grayshirts pays his own way and isn't a part of the team. I'm sure that won't happen. And you can only medical redshirt if you've already had a regular redshirt, or have played in the first couple games to where you can't use a regular redshirt.
Wormley will just take a regular redshirt. He can apply for a medical redshirt if he misses a second season due to injury.
August 14th, 2012 at 9:15 PM ^
No.
Long Answer: Nope.
August 14th, 2012 at 8:58 PM ^
Get better soon, Wormley. We'll need you soon enough.
