Espn lists a weight of 215 and Rivals, Scout, and 247 all say around 235.  That's a difference between college ready size at 16 and being just a regularly jacked 16 year old.  Who do I believe?  Is there a good evaluation of Ferns by one of our go to bloggers out there?

Got on the mobile app and the site took long to load, let me know that there was good news waiting for me.

The fact that we can already start working on the '14 class is nothing short of amazing.

Thanks for the update. Your posts always make me laugh.

In other breaking news...idiots are dumb people, some dumb people are idiots, all OSU fans are rational, Urban only recruits top 15 national recruits and they'll flip him if he makes the cut.

This is a perefect summation of the way recruiting has been going the last year or two, and what will seemingly/hopefully keep happening in the future. Both MSU and MICH get a commit today who both project to LB.

Byron Bullough - The last of the Bulloughs, 6'1" 205 S/RB in high school but projects to LB in college. When all said and done a 3-star program guy. MICH offer? No.

Michael Ferns -  One of the highest rated LB's in the Midwest, and possibly the nation, offers from everyone (MSU offer? YES). Will probably be a high 4-star, but could end up as a 5-star if everything works well for him (according to Tremendous).

Not trying to make something out of nothing and I know they already landed Drake Harris, but it just struck me as the perfect situation to describe the state of recruiting these days.

Always great to see a top LB commit so early.   And by glancing at his twitter it looks like Shane has already given him a congrats as well.

Now Michael, just take after Shane and get on the recruiting trail!

Allen trieu said something a little different then tmendous. Said good athlete but plays against a enrage competition in d4 in ohio. Said solid 4 star, probably not a 5 star, and will see if he is the best lb in Ohio or the 4th. I will say this, my brother played against him in the first round of the playoffs, I remember him on offense in that 4 and 5 wide set, but I don't remember him at all on defense. I rewatched the game and honestly he had something like 5 tackles against a flex bone offense.

I'm not sure how much of a difference there is between "borderline five star" and "solid four-star," but sufficed to say that everyone is pretty damn high on the kid:

It's pretty well unanimous. HUGE get, regardless of your recollections.

It took long enough. I was starting to think that this staff would never get anyone to commit for 2014. You really have to wonder if this staff knows what they're doing. Nearly half way through the 2013 class and they're just now now starting to focus in 2014. I mean REALLY.

I excited a quality recruit that knew Michigan was right for him didn't waste much time ending his recruiting. He could have easily taken his time and took a bunch of visits but didn't. I think that speaks to his great character. Welcome aboard kid. Go blue!
