Patroits 34- Giants 26

Brady throws 3 TDs, Maningham catches 100+yards and 2 TDs

I bet $1 that Kelly Clarkson would screw up the national anthem and $1 that it would go over 1:34. Those are my Super Bowl picks.

Extreme value on the under for Kelly Clarkson

A winner is me. I don't know how long she went, but it was over 1:34.
But she didn't mess up the lyrics, so overall, Vegas takes my money once again. I was sadly unaware of her apparent long history of flawless (well, lyrics-wise) renditions.
February 6th, 2012 at 10:20 AM ^
I timed it, and she was at almost exactly 1:34. If I had to guess, I'd say she was a second under. I'm really curious how Vegas defined the results of the bet, and (stopping now to not be lazy....
Apparently it did time out at exactly 1:34. Which makes you wonder if Vegas got to Clarkson.

35 - 21 Patriots.
Patriots D has been playing better, especially against the run. Laughable to hear Giants fans saying Amad Bradshaw will have a monster game against the Pats D....coming the week after the Patriots completely shut-down Ray Rice.
February 5th, 2012 at 4:55 PM ^
Manningham has 2 TD receptions.
Michigan wins the Super Bowl!
February 5th, 2012 at 4:56 PM ^
It's going to be so bad that Zoltan is going to play QB and Brady will be punting halfway through the third.
February 5th, 2012 at 5:05 PM ^
Giants, but rooting for the Patriots.
February 5th, 2012 at 6:18 PM ^
Don.
Well not actually with. You know, just rooting & picking.
I don't mean rooting & picking as in truffles either, just ya know game-wise and such.
Ok, nevermind the such.

You can't go against Tom Brady. The Giants won't have any miracle catches at the end of the game to help them secure victory this time. Patriots win the Super Bowl. Tom Brady represents Michigan well, and cements him self as a future Hall of Famer.

about Super Mario.

Pats win. Brady MVP
February 5th, 2012 at 5:07 PM ^
As much as I want the Pats to win, I just don't see the Patriots being able to score enough to outpace the scores that their defense will give up. NY has a pretty good pass rush, and Gronk won't be 100%, so that will slow down Brady some. And NY also has some very talented WRs and a QB who is actually playing well this year. I feel this game really hinges on how well Manning does. If he's the Manning the Giants have had this season or if he plays like he has in seasons past.
Because whenver I think a game will be high scoring, the opposite happens, I'm going to say Giants 17-14.
February 5th, 2012 at 5:08 PM ^
I will root for Tom Brady and Zoltan Mesko, because I don't like the two teams.
February 5th, 2012 at 5:09 PM ^
Giants win the coin toss, Patriots score first, someone scores in the last 2 minutes of the 1st half, Patriots score last and cover the spread, Maddona sings 3 songs, the word "Peyton" is said 7 times. Book it.
February 5th, 2012 at 5:11 PM ^
I will go with the way over on word "Peyton" .
February 5th, 2012 at 5:18 PM ^
See that was my first thought too, but there are so many other storylines that go with this game that it'll be minimized. In my opinion the rematch, Gronk's ankle, and the Belichek-Brady reaching 1st-ballot HOF status will limit opportunities.
February 5th, 2012 at 5:22 PM ^
over 7.
February 5th, 2012 at 5:30 PM ^
I just realized I didn't account for the phrase "The House that Peyton Built."
Bummer.
February 5th, 2012 at 5:10 PM ^
But if you're making me put money on it, the Giants. Defense wins championships, and unfortunately it's been awhile since Brady and BB have found a way to be "underdogs" and surprise people. I can't figure out how the Pats win this one, though it'll probably be close. This is where not drafting any defensive players with all those drafts picks probably comes to bite them on the ass.
February 5th, 2012 at 5:11 PM ^
Rooting for the the Patriots, but I am going to say 34-31 Giants.
February 5th, 2012 at 5:17 PM ^
Giants 27-21. Brady will throw for 290 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT. Manningham will have 60 yards.
February 5th, 2012 at 5:18 PM ^
I was all set on bettin $500 on the Patriots -2.5 until everybody and i mean EVERYBODY picked them to win. The line moved to -3 and my bookie said he was getting 5-1 money on the Pats and had to lay some off to keep from being overloaded on one side.
Which means I switched to Giants. It has been my experience that when everybody picks one way....go the other. I have no idea why this happens but i cant even tell you how many times i've seen "mortal locks" go south.
Go G-Men! And Big Blue (here it is acceptable to use)
February 5th, 2012 at 5:19 PM ^
My Heart says Tom and the Pats. Don't like Eli because of the childish stunt he pulled when he was drafted.
February 5th, 2012 at 5:19 PM ^
Patriots because I have the biggest man crush ever on Tom Brady...Pats 28 Giants 24...Brady throws for 4 touchdowns....Love Manningham though so he gets 2 touchdowns for the Giants even though I hate Eli and want to see him throw 4 INT.
February 5th, 2012 at 5:23 PM ^
I think the spread is just about right at 3.
Pats 27-24. Brady with another MVP.

I've got 500 bucks on Pickles relieving himself in the endzone...

February 5th, 2012 at 5:39 PM ^
I feel like the Giants will win, but I want the Patriots to win just because the fans here in NY are insufferable, especially when a team they crapped on for most of the season wins a championship.
February 5th, 2012 at 5:53 PM ^
Pats 34-24
February 5th, 2012 at 5:59 PM ^
I'll take Patriots 45, Giants 17. Unlike last time, the Giants now have the Patriots' full attention. Also, luck has a tendency to even out over time. With a victory tonight, Tom Brady shuts up those who have been calling Aaron Rodgers or Eli Manning the "best QB in the NFL." Brady can also put himself squarely in the middle of any debate on who is the GOAT at QB in the NFL.
I think this game will be close for one half, with the Patriots dominating the rest of the game.

He's on the Pat's practice squad! And it seems Devin Thomas is from Ann Arbor, and he had to do the JUCO route because his grades weren't so hot, so it's not his fault he had to go to MSU. (Rationalizing that I can't really choose between the teams. Love Brady, live in NYC. Have same reservations as others about Eli's post-draft behavior, but there are other guys on the team I'm fond of...)

Pats 17 with a hail mary from midfield with Brady having a chance but falls just out of the reach of Gronk. Thats my prediction fwiw
February 6th, 2012 at 1:34 AM ^
My pick (and a few others here, too) wasn't that far off, unfortunately... the Giants' receivers made plays at crunch time, while the Patriots' receivers simply choked in the final minutes.
