OT: How are your fantasy football seasons going?
I thought we could check in on how our drafts have panned out since we are officially in the season now. Mine couldn't have gone better. Not only did I draft well, but I was able to trade some high risk-high reward players I drafted for better starters. Now my team is completely dominant.
QB: Drew Brees
RB: Chris Johnson
RB: Matt Forte
WR: Greg Jennings
WR: Calvin Johnson
WR: Santana Moss/Miles Austin
TE: Jason Witten
D/ST: Ravens
K: Stephen Gostkowski
This is in a 10 team league.

Anyone know when they go onsale? First game is Oct 1.
September 14th, 2011 at 6:30 PM ^
Has anyone travelled to Spain this time of the year? I hear it's lovely.
September 14th, 2011 at 6:32 PM ^
I by far have the best team in my league, thank god i have a few people who are in their first years of playing fantasy football. Team is:
QB: J Freeman (weakspot)
RB: Chris Johnson, Forte, Bradshaw
WR:Megatron, Jennings, Kenny Britt, Brandon Marshall
TE: Vernon Davis, Gronkowski
D/ST: Eagles
K: Bryant
September 15th, 2011 at 3:12 PM ^
Holy shit! Who did you draft against? Children? Foreigners? Michigan State fans?
September 14th, 2011 at 6:32 PM ^
MY TEAM RULEZ I HAVE 8 FIRST ROUNDERS ON IT
September 14th, 2011 at 6:34 PM ^
I've got Tom Brady, so it's going very, very well.
September 14th, 2011 at 7:20 PM ^
In one league, I have Brady. I won that match-up.
In another league, my opponent had Brady. And I won THAT match-up... by starting Chad Henne.
I am the smartest man alive.
September 14th, 2011 at 7:29 PM ^
I see your Tom Brady and raise you a Wes Welker to compliment it. Plus I had Brandon Marshall.
QB - Tom Brady
RB - Chris Johnson, Cedric Benson, Ahmad Bradshaw
WR - Welker, Marshall, Vincent Jackson, and some random
TE - Rob Gronkowski(I should have started him), Kellen Winslow
Defense/ST - Jets
K - Robbie Gould
My league uses defensive players too so I have
LB - James Farrior, Ray Lewis
DB - Charles Woodson (Homerism? Yes Indeed), Patrick Petersen, Donte Witner
September 15th, 2011 at 8:30 AM ^
I also have Brady, Welker, and Johnson...
When Johnson hits stride around week 3 or 4, it's going to be awesome.
September 14th, 2011 at 6:39 PM ^
I don't play, but I'm waiting for The League to start up again. One of the best shows on TV right now.
September 14th, 2011 at 7:12 PM ^
Not so well, so far. I've got Mike Vick, and Mike Tolbert, both TD machines, but Pittsburgh's defense SCREWED me yesterday, and both my WR's, Dwayne Bowe and Jeremy Maclin did terrible. I still only lost by 1 pt though :(
September 14th, 2011 at 6:45 PM ^
Should I start Jamal Charles this weekend? Considering they are playing that scary lions defensive line.
September 14th, 2011 at 10:58 PM ^
Considering Jamal Charles is one of the top running backs in the game you have to start him every week. You don't draft a player with your first pick and not start him based on the match up. Few running back like Charles are lock for plenty of carries and considering his home run threat everytime he touches the pig skin he is a lock starter. Flex positions are where you are more likely to look into the opposing team.
September 14th, 2011 at 6:53 PM ^
I lost by less than a point (.66 of a point to be exact) in week 1.
I haven't yet decided whether to blame Nate Kaeding for shredding his knee on the opening kickoff of the SD/Minn game or Miami's lulz-inducing secondary for allowing Wes Welker to crabwalk into the endzone if he so desired.
September 14th, 2011 at 7:18 PM ^
This is my team:

QB--Aaron Rogers

RB-Cadillac/ Deangelo Williams/Tim Hightower/LeGarrete Blount

WR-Greg Jennings, Andre Johnson, Anquan Boldin

TE--Jason Witten

Defense-Jets

Kicker-- Brown from St. Louis
September 14th, 2011 at 7:18 PM ^
Put up 142 points and lost by 20 due to Bradyfest.
September 14th, 2011 at 7:23 PM ^
September 14th, 2011 at 8:47 PM ^
Detroit is a different team at home, plus the Chiefs just gave up 41 at home to the Bills and lost Eric Berry for the year.
September 14th, 2011 at 7:35 PM ^
Fantasy Football looks like lots of fun. I might get into it next year. Can anyone give me good advice on what types of league I should join/start if I am a newbie.
September 14th, 2011 at 7:43 PM ^
best advice is join with some buddies, put down atleast $10 a piece so there's a reason to play.
September 14th, 2011 at 11:45 PM ^
I would do something like a 10 team standard league with a snake style draft. I like auction drafts but they definitely can make it harder to assemble a good team if your new, where at least in the snake style you are guaranteed your picks. Also, leagues with more than ten teams really make it necessary for you to know a lot about football as the back-ups of back-ups can be fair game.
And as stated previously, a league in which your with some good friends is the best. For proof, just watch a few episodes of The League to catch my point.
September 15th, 2011 at 8:34 AM ^
Would definitely recommend cutting it off at 8 teams, 10 max. After that, talent starts to get thin... I'm in one with 14 teams and some weeks (especially the major bye weeks) you're trotting out third stringers just to fill your roster. And while there is some fun to finding diamonds in the rough, it's not as exciting overall.
September 14th, 2011 at 7:38 PM ^
Was down 31 points before Brady netted me 34 points for the win. So I am doing quite okay.
September 14th, 2011 at 7:42 PM ^
because there is no way I end up with this team in a standard draft with 10 teams:
QB: Stafford, Freeman
WR: Megatron, Andre Johnson, Jennings, Santana Moss, Devery Henderson
RB: McFadden, Felix Jones, Hightower, Best
TE: Owen Daniels, Pettigrew
K: Josh Brown
DEF: Green Bay
September 14th, 2011 at 10:31 PM ^
Really solid receiving core there
September 15th, 2011 at 9:15 AM ^
I did get Henderson from the waiver wire this week, dropping Mike Williams(SEA), so I can't take credit for drafting him.
September 15th, 2011 at 3:16 PM ^
Depending on how many WRs you need to start in your league (mine is 2 or 3), you could trade one of those big time receivers you have for a more consistent top notch QB.
September 16th, 2011 at 10:35 PM ^
Otherwise I don't see enough of an upgrade there. He should be a top 10 QB if he plays all year.
September 14th, 2011 at 11:11 PM ^
Top two receivers and four starting running backs? How big is your league?
September 15th, 2011 at 9:13 AM ^
It's all about strategy in an auction draft.....mostly getting people to spend their money on players you have no intention of drafting!
September 14th, 2011 at 7:49 PM ^
Just FYI, nobody really cares about the good or bad luck of your fantasy football team. Just sayin. It's similar to the people who complain about the bad beat in poker.
September 14th, 2011 at 7:51 PM ^
i hate legarret blount, i picked up the 49ers d so that was good, oh and the guy I was facing scred 147 points so i got my ass kicked
September 14th, 2011 at 7:52 PM ^
QB: Big Ben, Ryan Fitzpatrick
RB: Jamaal Charles, Peyton Hillis, Frank Gore, Fred Jackson, Pierre Thomas
WR: Dwayne Bowe, Brandon Lloyd, Jordy Nelson, Plaxico Burress, Sidney Rice
TE: Vernon Davis
D/ST: Bears
K: David Akers
Even though I lost week 1 (Big Ben - 3 picks, 2 fumbles, several sacks for a whopping 6 points) I think my team is easily top 3 in my league
September 14th, 2011 at 9:01 PM ^
I'm in a 16 person league this year so the rosters are really deep, nobody has the perfect roster. We also have a option position instead of the WR/RB flex so everyone is putting QB's there. My game plan was to go RB and WR early and load up on QB's late to rotate throughout the season.
My team won it's first match by 8 points agianst someone with Vick, freeman, and gronkowski. Went 5/16 overall
My team:
QB - Sam Bradford
RB - Ray Rice (1st round pick at 4th)
RB - Mike Tolbert
WR - Larry Fitzgerald
WR - Marques Colston (out for at least a month now with a broken Clavicle)
WR - Mario Manningham
TE - Tony Gonzalez
OP - Tarvaris Jackson
K - Stephen Gostkowski
D/ST - Packers
Bench:
QB - Cam Newton
QB - Luke McCown
WR/RB - Dexter McCluster (Great bye week pick-up)
TE - Ed Dickson
WR - Devery Henderson (grabbed off waivers to replace Colston until he's back)
WR - Titus Young
RB - Maurice Morris
D/ST - Titans, for the packers 8th week bye (titans v indy)
My QB choices really suck but having 4 lets me pick and choose better weekly match-ups. It's not too bad for a 16 person league. Going to be a touch week for my Qb's though as they all play top 5 D's
September 14th, 2011 at 8:59 PM ^
I am doing terrible and all my *other* picks that I would have taken if on the board have also been doing terrible....I've never been in this position before and in a 14 team league which means absolutely no help in terms of FA.
September 14th, 2011 at 11:09 PM ^
Your best bet is probably stacking your bench with back up running backs like Montario Hardesty in Cleveland. Value is terrible now but one injury and you suddenly have a starting running back. May not work out but might be your best chance.
September 14th, 2011 at 9:13 PM ^
- Team name: Frank Gore likes sushi
- qb: Sam Bradford/Kevin Kolb
- rb: LeSean McCoy
- rb: Michael Turner
- wr: Hakeem Nicks
- wr: Brandon Lloyd
- wr: Anquan Boldin
- def/st: Falcons
- k: Matt Bryant
- won first week 140-92
September 14th, 2011 at 9:46 PM ^
I had 160 points this week. Still lost!! The guy who beat me had 186 points. That's crazy!
September 14th, 2011 at 9:53 PM ^
I would do Tom Brady, that about sums up my fantasy team.
September 14th, 2011 at 10:27 PM ^
1 league was just awful game by my guys
1 league I lost by 4 to the #1 score (I was 2)
1 league I lost because he had Brady left and I was up 40. I was 3rd highest score in the league

Sucks
September 14th, 2011 at 10:37 PM ^
QB: Tom Brady/Matt Cassel
RB: Steven Jackson/Beanie Wells
RB: Darren Sproles
WR/RB:Robert Meachem/Austin Colie
WR: Calvin Johnson/Braylon Edwards
WR: Plaxico Burress/Kenny Britt/Michael Crabtree
TE: Vernon Davis/Aaron Hernandez
D/ST: Eagles
K: David Akers
Your Thoughts on my team?
BTW: Won 1st week 132-109
Edit: This is my first year ever playing fantasy football, 10 teams. Buy-in was $50.
September 14th, 2011 at 10:49 PM ^
thoughts....better luck next year. in a 10 team league you should have some better WRs.
September 14th, 2011 at 11:03 PM ^
What is your roster currently?
September 14th, 2011 at 11:48 PM ^
He has great receivers..though I would be starting Britt over Buress for now
September 15th, 2011 at 9:07 AM ^
12 Team:
QB: Flacco, Fitzpatrick
RB: Deangelo Williams, Benson, Bush, Leshon Mccoy
WR: Fitzgerald, Boldin, Desean Jackson, Jordy Nelson
TE: Gates
DEF: Eagles
K: Feeley
Keeper league so my 7th round pick was Deangelo.
September 14th, 2011 at 11:05 PM ^
I would package some wide receivers for the best running back you can get. Considering Steven Jackson just got banged up and also is up there in years his stock is on the down swing. And Darren Sproles is part of the Saints backfield which is just about as bad as Michigan's backfield minus Toussaint.
September 14th, 2011 at 10:33 PM ^
My fantasy team was gonna win until Brady went off monday night for the team I was playing
September 14th, 2011 at 11:33 PM ^
QB: Mathew Stafford, Ben Roethlisberger
RB: LeSean McCoy, Darren McFadden, Peyton Hillis, Matt Forte, Law Firm
WR: Hakeem Kicks, Roddy White, Brandon Marshall, Kenny Britt, Julio Jones
TE: Jermichael Finley, Todd Heap
D/ST: Jets
K: Janikowski
Its a 8 team keeper league I got in on last year (McCoy my keeper). The team I took over was shit but I had a solid draft this year.
September 14th, 2011 at 11:58 PM ^
QB Matt Stafford, Kyle Orton
RBs Arian Foster, Stephen Jackson, Ben Tate, Lidanian Tomlinson, Ryan Grant
WRs Larry Fitzgerald, Brandon Marshall, Plaxico Buress, Robert Meachum
TE Jason Witten Todd Heap
Defense Bears Kicker N Rackers
10 team ppr leage ..I wasnt able to get Cadillac of waivers since somehow i won week 1..but now with Jackson out for sure and Foster still hurt..no clue what to do at RB this week..I think im gonna start Tate and LT and take the loss..hope things are better next week
September 15th, 2011 at 12:34 AM ^
My team name is Idiot's Avant
I drafted pretty much all sleepers besides AP and Greg Jennings
