Congrats
Another well played game by UM and thats all it took, execution wins over talent any day of the week.
You guys were right, ND didn't turn the ball over 5 times this week (although they tried), just too bad it took only 4 this time around to lose. lol, should be an interesting week.

Thanks for being a classy poster. Your team played their hearts out, just gotta stop the turnovers.
September 10th, 2011 at 11:57 PM ^
And that's why we love you on this blog. Well played.
September 10th, 2011 at 11:58 PM ^
ND fandom has to be very irritated with the results so far this season. They look like a strong team that just needs to hold onto the @#$% ball.

Ugly game, dude. Ugly, ugly, ugly.
I almost fell down dead when I saw Gallon that wide open. Unbelievable.
September 11th, 2011 at 12:00 AM ^
ND played really, really well. I didn't think Michigan had a chance for most of the game. It's hard to stop Denard when he's got a hot hand (and feet).
It didn't hurt that we got very lucky.
September 11th, 2011 at 12:12 AM ^
really really well? I thought it was closer to pathetic especially in the secondary
September 11th, 2011 at 12:22 AM ^
Well compared to Michigan's secondary perhaps. At least your cornerbacks were close to the receiver who had to make leaping acrobatic catches. Michigan's corners weren't even in the right zip code.
Notre Dame is a hell of a team and on the whole outplayed Michigan badly. Things just went wacky in the 4th quarter. Hey, as Michigan fan I will take it, I have certainly seen it go the other way these last few years.
Thanks for having so much class, may y'all go 10-2!
September 11th, 2011 at 12:30 AM ^
Denard averaged 31 yards per reception, its not even close
September 11th, 2011 at 12:24 AM ^
your team dominated us throughout the game, and should've won...and the secondary...that is the hardest thing to protect against...its high risk as we saw, but truthfully, we just got lucky
Question to you....What did ND do to absolutely lose the luck of the Irish?
September 11th, 2011 at 12:37 AM ^
Officially? Probably about the time that forced fumble on the goal line went straight back to denard

Just Beat Sparty.

Beauty's in the eye of the beholder, I guess. ND dominated for most of the game. To me, that's playing well.

You can say that again.

Don't tempt him.

Your Dline was pretty damn solid and the team as a whole was good against the run. Pass defense is another story.
September 10th, 2011 at 11:59 PM ^
Took some nuts to post this, especially in our current state.
September 11th, 2011 at 12:00 AM ^
I live in south bend, and I know craploads of ND fans. I have never met you, but you are one of the two Irish fans that I wish didnt have to feel the sting of that loss. Thanks for being a classy dude. Good luck to the Irish next weekend.
September 11th, 2011 at 12:03 AM ^
Thanks for the compliment, but I certainly wouldn't say "well played" on either side. Definitely nice to see a Michigan team make adjustments on defense. However, it is still clear that the Denard and Borges still need time to feel comfortable with one another. Either way, a win is a win. We'll take it.
September 11th, 2011 at 12:03 AM ^
Notre Dame has some weapons and they will end up beating some people up. They'll be fine. After that thrashing of the first 16 minutes, Michigan was playing with house money in this one. They hung in there and made some plays. Credit to them. Thanks for your classy thoughts Irish.
September 11th, 2011 at 12:03 AM ^
We turned it over 3 times, never had a RB gain more than three yards on the ground, dropped tons of balls and when we didn't drop them Denard missed open guys. Then our defensive coordinator nearly gave the game away by playing cover 0.
We won because ND is allergic to winning and because Denard Robinson is Jesus of Nazareth, returned to the Earth in bodily form to bring redemption to all who believe in him.
September 11th, 2011 at 12:53 AM ^
That about sums it up. Allergic to winning.
I also have to give my props, and this is why this series cannot end.
I love me some Denard, but those wounded duck passes are going to get your guys killed when you hit a real secondary. Best of luck to you the rest of the way.
September 11th, 2011 at 11:08 AM ^
I have secondary envy

Dammit, Irish. I can't quit you.
September 11th, 2011 at 12:08 AM ^
FWIW, I stil think Kelly is going to turn you guys into a buzzsaw...ND played with a lot of guts today.
September 11th, 2011 at 11:06 AM ^
A buzzsaw that disintigrates about 3/4ths of the way through seriously maming the operatro maybe
September 11th, 2011 at 12:09 AM ^
Although it may not have been the best played game I have ever seen, both teams showed TREMENDOUS character. We will all remember this one!
Best of luck Irish.

Very good game Irish, someone had to be on the losing end.
But you guys are a good team. Tell your troops to get back up, and beat the shit out of MSU next week. For next week, GO IRISH!
September 11th, 2011 at 12:12 AM ^
You are all right. Now go kick sparty's ass.
September 11th, 2011 at 12:20 AM ^
5 TOs to USF
4 TOs to UM
3? TOs to MSU or if you want to go averages that would be another 9 TOs between MSU and Pitt.
September 11th, 2011 at 2:22 AM ^
I believe you had five turnovers counting the fumble at the end. :)
September 11th, 2011 at 3:37 AM ^
Props to you, Irish, for showing up & posting. And thanks to your team for their generosity.
Now if they could just HOLD ONTO THE DAMN BALL vs Sparty ...
September 11th, 2011 at 12:15 AM ^
You are one of my favorite people on this blog. That is all.
September 11th, 2011 at 12:20 AM ^
Just watched the game in a remote bar in N Michigan. Two groups of UM fans, 1 group of ND fans. We agreed it was a contest to see who could lose the game. I don't know if "execution" won this game.
September 11th, 2011 at 12:23 AM ^
I tried to posbang you, but I keep geting the 503 error because this site is exploding right now. Thanks for staying classy, and go kick sparty's ass.
September 11th, 2011 at 12:37 AM ^
3-4 ND fans near me in the student section. All were really great fans to be around--even when they took that lead at the end.
September 11th, 2011 at 12:37 AM ^
Like many of the bloggers said above this was all class. I'll definitely be rooting for you. next week
September 11th, 2011 at 12:41 AM ^
I know you must be very disappointed right now, but I give you a ton of credit for coming online to congratulate us. At the end of the day, all of us here are just fans -- we don't decide the outcome win or lose. But you always maintain yourself with a lot of dignity and I respect you for that. Good luck next year -- but I certainly won't mind if your team kicks MSU's ass.

Thank god we don't have to play against that fucking guy again. Poor JT Floyd.
September 11th, 2011 at 12:54 AM ^
made our man Floyd grow up. Floyd should have a great year. I mean that. Thanks Irish.
September 11th, 2011 at 12:55 AM ^
It should really be Rece Davis, Mark May, and Irish on College Football whatever. The Smug Rating is always appropriate.

I will root for ND for the first time ever next week against a B1G opponent. No fricking TOs!
Jones looks like he responded pretty well to the beratement. It's not all bad.

Very classy. Michigan started off very slow, and then it seemed like they got the majority of the breaks in the second half. What an exciting game. It's always fun!

Irish. Lots of luck for us tonight.
Notre Dame is going to be fine. They have some very, very good players and Kelly is a great coach.
Better days are ahead for you Irish.
Hopefully for us too.
