Looks like he is going to Northwestern, good luck to him.
Wow.. I'm pretty surprised. Wish him the best of luck. I think this actually makes some people here happy, and our OL class is still going to be amazing.
Hopefully he does very well at NW, just not when he plays Michigan
Good for Northwestern and Olson.Anyone else think northwestern can land Odenigbo?
I actually want him to go there. Would be a perfect fit, IMO. It's better than him going to OSU or MSU, and he cares about academics which would make it right for him.
That's what I thought. The only other school that I would consider competition is Stanford.
We never played a factor for him
Centerville's head coach is a HUUUUUGE Buckeye lover. UM will probably never get a player from Centerville while he is still employed there.
Wish the kid all the best. He sounds like an intelligent young man with a brilliant future.
I'm very happy for him, he'll get a fantastic education in a great city and play for a very underrated and perennially solid team.
I always want Northwestern to nab top end talent. I'm always impressed with their academics and one has to love Pat Fitzgerald's passion for the program. I'm hoping they can land him. I guess I always hope for the best for their program (except when playing us) since building a successful program there is much tougher to do than at the UofMs, Alabamas, and USCs of the world.
Good Luck to him. Hopefully a stud takes his place in the class!
I'm pulling for that kid. Congrats, Eric, and best of luck at Northwestern & beyond.
Good luck to him.
Wonder if Hoke was trying to slow his process down?
This won't hurt too much. Good luck to him.
some mutual relief between Eric and a lot of UM fans. Last year that might have been different, but Hoke and Co. are bosses. Best, Eric.
Me thinks you're right about "last year". Best to the kid. Sounds classy and a credit to anyone's class.
Is this National Lineman Commitment Day? Did anybody tell Kalis and Wormley?
PA 3* OT Adam DePietro committed to NW earler this evening so I guess Olson figured he'd better sign on fast before his spot was gone.
With Peat probably gone and Thurston sounding like he's Nebraska bound that leaves Diamond, Banner , Garnett, Kalis, Bisnowaty, and Bars. I think PSU leads for Bars and I still have a tough time seeing Banner or Garnett coming to UM. I think they get Diamond and Kalis and then it gets interesting. They could keep chasing Bisnowaty but I myself would prefer to stick at 5 OL. Remember AJ Williams could shift there if need be. I'd use that spot instead to take that extra high caliber defensive lineman. They told O'Brien they were only taking 1 more DT. I would now take 2.
Kate Beckinsale is my all time fav, and an automatic upvote. Cheers!
Agreed. Van Helsing became very enjoyable with her in it...

FWIW, this is a story about a group of six recruits from Tennessee announcing together. One of them is Blake Bars, and the one thing that all of them have in common is Vanderbilt as a finalist. They're saying it could be a HUGE day for Vandy, including Drae Bowles.
I'd love to have Diamond and Kalis, then wait for one of either Garnett, Banner, Peat, Bisnowaty, or another position.
Heaven knows my Commodores could use a class like that.
Really? Based on Tom's post, it sounded like we were sitting pretty
Edit: Ok, I guess Vandy is sitting pretty, but still not PSU
I would say that PSU has a good chance given that his older brother is a LB for PSU.
According to the Scout/NW site. (Not behind a paywall) It appears that the two of them became Facebook friends and decided to Call Fitzgerald collectively and commit. Probably made Fitzgerald's week.
Wish him the best of luck.
Looking forward to the upcoming matchups against ya Eric Olson. Solid choice in going to N'Western. Great academics, can't go wrong.
Sounds like he made good on his commitment to academics and it wasn't just recruiting-speak. Good luck to him at Northwestern...except when he plays us, of course.
We can't get em all
best of luck to him.
So many people happy a recruit committed somewhere else. Good luck to him, seems like a great kid, but everyone better hope the recruiting services are right and he doesn't blow up (in our own division) and make us regret not getting him.
I love your tag line. I can't help but add that on to the end of everything you say. And it works perfectly with just about everything!
But I wasn't looking for a lot of gnashing of teeth over him going to an arch rival. But the just under the surface glee that "whew, he's not tying up one of our valuable scholarships that will for sure go to a higher rated player who will be better because he's higher rated" seems less classy, and more like a backhanded compliment. Like "oh, good for you...you'll do well in the remedial class".
Good luck to the kid. Great school.
Good luck to Mr. Olson. May be I'll catch you at a Strawberry Night and we can bullshit about Michigan and Northwestern.
I was really hoping to get this kid. Seems like he has a good head on his shoulders. Northwestern is a good fit. Best of luck Mr. Olson.
I figured that he'd stay local and go with Boston College. I think Northwestern is a much better choice though, so good for him.
Good luck, Eric - I'll pull for you (most of the time ;-) )
I wish the kid the best of luck. This class is already a pretty damn good O line haul. Throw Diamond and Kalis in the mix and you won't hear me complain one bit.
Best of luck to you Eric. At this poiint the freak out some of us had earlier this week was pretty much pointless.
going to a great school. Kalis and Diamond now PLZ
Eric...
Mustards Last Stand just do the Chicago Style and good luck in every game but one.
Good for the kid. If you have a chance to study at one of the best schools in the country, then go for it.
To take anything away from UM
Rats, I had two schools in play here.
Have to take your hat off to a kid who sets up his recruiting so it comes down to a bunch of the country's best academic schools. Can't go wrong with the list he had.
no need to wish him any luck b/c he won't need it. he'll create his future success (both on the field and in the classroom) via hard work and determination. Cheers Eric.
Good luck and I wish you well Mr. Olson. You made a wise choice over all for the academic side of STUDENT-athlete
Also, I wanna give props to everyone on this board. It takes a quality fanbase to congratulate and wish a young man well even though he did not choose our school. This just shows how much above TSIO we are. Those fans down there were wishing for a young man to end his career before making it to Michigan, pathetic *spit*. And here we are wishing this man well.
Again, Good Luck Eric
Congrats Eric! I'll pull for you 11 times a year.
It's good to see him stick to his guns and actually go to a good academic school. Best of luck to him.
