even though you felt it coming, it still hurts....
Sheeeeeeeeeeeeiiit
Just got through that whole show about a month ago. Great reference.
it's all in the game
What show would that be? Come on, fill us in.
The Wire.
"Sheeeeeeeeeiiittt" was made famous by the character Clay Davis.
Best show ever on TV. Buy the DVDs and you won't regret it.
His username is that of Herc's confidential informant. I think he knows what show it is
We couldn't afford as much as auburn.
Get off it. He's an 18 year old kid, no reason to get all butthurt because he didn't pick UM. Best of luck to him.
Agreed. Getting him would have been great but if he wanted to go somewhere else then so be it. There's other QBs out there. This isn't the end of the world. I'll still feel like shit the rest of the day...
will ease this feeling of shit.
Shouldn't this read "There are" or extremely informally, "There're"?
Using "is" represents improper subject-verb agreement because the subject is plural.
There are sober kids. (plural subject)
There is a sober kid. (singular subject)
The verb's form is dependent upon whether the subject is singular or plural.
Relax, he's 18, not 8. I think the joke is less about Pike than it is about Auburn. He'll be ok.
I'm just going to start negging every post I see that uses the term 'butthurt.'
Meta-negged for use of the word "butthurt."
Head explodes.
And yes, I did neg my previous comment, as well as your reply, for use of the term "butthurt." And will be negging this comment as well. For consistency sake.
Fair enough good sir. This is not an issue that will cause me to get all......never mind.
To be clear, if I am to say "my butt hurt" in a future post, will I be automatically negged? Inquiring minds want to know . . . Thanks in advance.
...and thank you for asking. "My butt hurt" will not be negged; I will only neg that loathsome little adjective.
That said, please make sure your post is marked 'OT.'
What about "Fannyhurt" or "Arsehurt"
Relax. The joke is on Auburn, not Pike. Mayyyybe you get off it.
EDIT: Butthurt....testing your skills Foote Fetish
Amare Stoudamire was supposed to have a great game last night, but hurt himself during pre-game warmups...
Not sure I'd characterize it that way... We just aren't willing to pay.
Eh it just bugs me when people have the kneejerk reaction of "Oh, they didn't commit to UM? They have been paid!". It's along the same lines of thinking of "well we didn't need him anyways!"
Yes, I agree it sucks we didn't get him, but we're going to lose out on some commits, that doesn't mean there's some kind of conspiracy going on.
Have you watched any news surrounding Cam Newton and Auburn the past 6 months?
Yes, and given the scrutiny, they would be beyond ignorant to attempt to pay a player, especially another highly touted QB prospect with the NCAA's attention.
very soon there is an article on rivals about his decision
I hope but it sounds like ND is in the drivers seat for him.
What I've been hearing as well. If ND wants him, he's there for the taking. ND might want Kiel more then Mauk though, in which case we're probably Mauk's leader.
Becomes a question then of which do you want more out of those two? Or do you get a lower-rated QB and develop him while going for Morris next year?
So what your saying is we will be getting Notre Dame's leftovers?
Hopefully we get back to the days of being able to pick and choose which guys we would rather have.
Not what I'm saying necessarily. Kiel is an Indiana kid, while Mauk is the brother of Ben Mauk who played for BK at Cincinnati. ND was/is probably always going to be ahead of us for both of them. The other factor is that Pike was the top target on our board and up until his Auburn visit, we appeared to be his leader. We missed, and that sucks so we have to take talent where we can get it. If that means cleaning up ND's scraps then so be it.
Although from a cynical point of view you could argue that, I wouldn't consider either of those guys as 'leftovers'.
They're both top-10 QBs and I'd be glad to have either. Probably prefer Kiel IMO but Mauk can ball, too.
who is saying that Michigan doesn't rate Mauk better than Kiel?? Your post is almost saying you think ND evaluates better? If Michigan wanted Kiel, we would be talking about him now. Mauk is our next guy after pike...
I have no idea who the coaching staff rates higher and don't claim to have such knowledge. The impression I've gotten from recruiting sites is that Kiel is better. Personally I think that's also the case.
But if the coaches want to go after Mauk now the fine. They're the coaching staff, I trust their judgment far more then my own when it comes to this.
But apparently ND is the frontrunner for Kiel, as well, so I'm not sure Mauk goes there.
Do they have room for 2 QBs? Where is Irish when we actually need him.
They won't take 2 QBs, especially ones as highly rated as Mauk and Kiel. That said, we're in a much better position for Mauk then we are for Kiel (I've heard OU is Kiel's leader). If they take Kiel, we should be in driver's seat for Mauk. If they take Mauk, then we probably miss on all the big QB recruits we go after.
no, no way we take 2, ND wants Kiel, but Mauk is much more likely.
Kiel is supposed to be 50-50 ND and OU, it doesn't appear the staff will let Mauk commit until Kiel's intentions are sure. Mauk will likely be committing in the next few weeks so draw what conclusion you can.
7th all time leading passer in ND history, it's not surprising if ND leads for him.
Do the Kiel's have an issue with giving their male children normal names? Blair? Gunner (that's probably a nickname, though, right)?
Awhile back, I read that Maty Mauk wanted to play in a spread offense. ND would make sense.
Have you got a link available?
Not a HUGE loss since we have Gardner as the long term future, but Zeke will regret Auburn when they get the sledgehammer from the NCAA.
He could stil change his mind, signing day is very very far away and Auburn can potentially get put on sanctions by then.
Three reasons that Pike's choice doesn't make much sense:
- Auburn will likely be hit with sanctions over the Cam Newton affair.
- Auburn signed a 5* QB in the 2011 class.
- Gus Mahlzahn is probably going to be a HC somewhere in the next 3 years.
