Then it's no wonder Armenians want to kill them.
|2 days 14 hours ago||I think a good handful of the||
I think a good handful of the guys you mentioned would be better. If Sark hadn't been the OC at USC before, he wouldn't be the slightest bit considered and SC people would be furious. There are at least a solid handful of accomplished coaches who would leave their current gig for the kind of money SC throws around. Hell - they gave Kiffin 4mil a year and he hadn't done anything. Would a coach with actual accomplishments get 6? I don't see why not, and many guys would leave their job for 6 million and a chance to coach USC.
To be more specific - both PSU and Washington hired better coaches this past offseason than SC did, and who knows who might have left if the check was big enough. Art Briles is another name I'd consider.
EDIT: And my post above wasn't saying whether or not SC had better options when they hired Sark. Maybe they really didn't. But the poster I replied to said he liked what Sark did at Washington, and that's what I was refuting. Because he didn't really do much.

In order of suckiness, from most to least:
Rudy the player, Rudy the person, Rudy the movie. The movie still sucked though, as anything about Notre Dame tends to do.

No way man, I like to pick the side that makes SC look bad, and worry about the information as it comes out. Then I can change my mind, if I want to.
So Sark, and likely his entire coaching staff as well as most of the SC student body, is brutally racist. Well, that last part might be true, actually.

Roseboro would be a big time pick up. Yes, please.

I've read this post a number of times now, and I think you have too many negatives. I think you mean to say that if you never hear it again, it will be too soon. Right?
|2 days 14 hours ago||Sark didn't do a whole lot at||
Sark didn't do a whole lot at Washington. He turned them from awful to decent pretty quickly, but never took them beyond that. I'm still surprised USC hired a guy who hasn't been a HC at a high level at any point yet. I don't mean at a high level school, I mean coaching the school at a high level.
Last year was his best season, and he still didn't beat anybody. Unless you count unranked BYU in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl. Not exactly a guy a program like SC should be looking at.

Armenians are most certainly considered Caucasian, so I don't think that's a good point to make.

Sure, but you can blame someone at USC (may or may not be Sark) for running with the story before doing the slightest amount of fact checking.

Not to sound creepy or anything...but I think I recognize your wife's eyelashes.

They recruit comparably to us. Which means quite well, but also doesn't mean everything. 4 star recruits, before they're ready, aren't usually very good. Experience usually outweighs talent, but to be a "good" player you need some combination of both.

I'm officiating a JV game tonight between Hart High School in Newhall, CA (school where Brady White plays) and somebody else. Might be some D1 guys not on varsity yet I can scout. Though as a new official I'll probably just be concentrating on my job.

Exactly - I'm the same way. I'm in such a zone during those games that if they switched to Japanese halfway through, it would take me a few minutes to realize.

"I was wrong to lie about this. I will not, however, be telling the real story." Basically.
EDIT: Also interesting how a kid from Palmdale, one of the lowest income areas of greater LA, has the money for an attorney like that. Unless he's an SC alum and is giving the kid a price-break, but that could be seen as a booster giving benefits to a player. Huh.
EDIT 2: No educational ties to USC. From NY, Yale undergrad, JD/MBA from Columbia.

I've got a full hundo on Shaw being in charge of an interracial child porn ring by the end of the Louisville-Miami game.

I agree with you. This goes double if you live in Southern California where there are pools everywhere and a goddamned ocean.
We put both of our boys in swim lessons at 6 months, and our oldest could jump in the deep end and swim across the pool before he turned 4. So many of their friends will have pools or boats or will go to the beach that it seemed like a no-brainer to us.
|3 days 12 hours ago||I wouldn't put Hurst in a||
I wouldn't put Hurst in a goal line package - he's smaller than any other DT we have. I'd put Mone or Wormley in there instead, guys who just won't be moved.

Must be the case. Palmdale, where his nephew was struggling, is probably 100 miles from downtown LA, where Orsini is (quite nice apartments, I might add), so he drove a long way with two sprained ankles.

Exactly. Had he said, "I was being dumb and jumped off a balcony" we wouldn't be talking about this right now. He would still get in trouble, but he wouldn't be a laughing stock.

Green is my prediction as well. If history serves, our first TD will be a run play from a running back.

I'm confused - wouldn't the Brandon Inge of beer be the best and manliest beer of all time?
Bell's is the John Navarre of beers. Very good, but lots of people seem to hate it for no reason.

Agreed - CA could be #1 with SD alone. I'm a big Karl Strauss fan myself, but NorCal's Lagunitas is way up there too.
California has quantity and quality, that's why they're up there. That said, I still think Founder's is better than all of them.

Yeah - if Jake Butt is almost playing now after tearing his ACL in the spring, this kid will be fine to start the year in 2015. He'll be playing in spring practice, though he'll probably be no-contact. If he enrolls early, that is.

Blame it on the sprain, it was red and swollen. Blame it on the nephew, swimmin' at night.
|4 days 17 hours ago||Yeah, that defense is really||
Yeah, that defense is really small. It's like their base and is a dime. If we can't run on them, we're in trouble.
That said, I bet we run all over them.
|5 days 11 hours ago||Look, I told you what I meant||
Look, I told you what I meant by "experienced" and that is 'has experience." If you want to use it in a different context and have a conversation with yourself, go for it.
It's not terribly uncommon for the opening week depth chart to have the returning player who played last year to be above the guy who didn't. Are there exceptions? Of course. Might that change over the course of the season? You bet.
But it doesn't say anything bad about Canteen because he's #2 behind a guy who played a lot last year and looked good doing it.
|5 days 11 hours ago||Uh, and Wheatley too, he was||
Uh, and Wheatley too, he was better than all of them. Funny how Jamie Morris and Mike Hart (great backs, don't get me wrong) are the two set apart and Wheatley, Thomas and Perry were in the "other guys" category. Weird.
|5 days 11 hours ago||For starters, he said in his||
For starters, he said in his opinion, and you likely don't care about his opinion on such matters.
But you have to understand there's a difference between missing a game because of a conflict and whining to the entire internet why you're choosing to not watch a game.
We, as humans and sports fans, judge other people's fandom all the time. I have a friend who is the biggest Mets fan ever - I never see him without some Mets apparel, even at events where that's not really appropriate. I have other friends who cheer for the Mets, but are certainly less of a fan. Wolverine Devotee is a bigger Michigan fan than my dad, who doesn't learn a player's name until he steps onto the field for the first time.
So it's totally normal and OK for a person to think that PGB isn't as big of a Michigan fan if he's willing to skip 1/13th of the season because of a grudge, since most of us are upset about the schedule but we're still watching because we can't not watch a Michigan football game.
Personally, I don't care how big of a fan he is because I know not everyone has the same level of devotion. I think it's lame for him to tell us how big of a fan he is and then whine for 8 paragraphs about why he doesn't want to watch the game.
