I'm not sure how reliable this reporter is, but this is what she is saying.

Who is this person?
January 7th, 2022 at 2:18 PM ^
Reporter for NFL Network apparently.
EDIT: TWEET HAS BEEN DELETED, which means... ?
January 7th, 2022 at 2:25 PM ^
Just a thought here... she never said "Jim", but just posted a picture of him.
JayBaugh to NFL?
She has only said an "announcement is coming" and "he" is going to the NFL. Could be a number of people and she's simply putting a Harbaugh clip up to generate interest.
January 7th, 2022 at 3:59 PM ^
Sarbaugh. NFL insiders have known for quite some time that Sarah has been the brains behind the reinvigorated offense.
January 7th, 2022 at 3:34 PM ^
...she was throwing spaghetti against the wall!
January 7th, 2022 at 3:43 PM ^
I can still see the tweet.
January 7th, 2022 at 3:49 PM ^
She deleted the response to another person saying "No he's going to the NFL"

Harbaugh signing extension CONFIRMED.

NFL Network reporter/host

Not anymore. Apparently she is now VP of Programming for something called ClickStream Corporation*. It looks like she hasn't been affiliated with NFL Network since June 2020.

So, her source is a dude building 3G towers in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso? Nice...
January 7th, 2022 at 2:56 PM ^
At least she isn't with the 5g people that are tracking us all........

Sounds like a money-laundering operation.

A splash of cynicism brightens the day.

You know it!
January 7th, 2022 at 2:20 PM ^
I was ready to dismiss this as a 2k follower nobody that I had never heard of but apparently she works for NFL Radio and has 275k+ followers on Twitter.
That said, following =/= accuracy and sources.

Who is this person?
Junior member of the NFL "elite" media which just can't fathom why someone would want to coach college when they could coach the pros.
We've been here. We've done that. Whatever.
January 7th, 2022 at 3:38 PM ^
Someone write college football's epitaph. If he's gone, I'm gonna cry.
January 7th, 2022 at 4:18 PM ^
Is her a source a recruit who has since signed with UM?
January 8th, 2022 at 12:07 AM ^
Another one of Urbans side bitches?
January 7th, 2022 at 2:19 PM ^
So who are the candidates to replace Harbaugh. I've heard Gattis, Hart, Bill O'Brien, and Luke Fickell.
January 7th, 2022 at 2:20 PM ^
Gattis or Hart would be insane.
Ryan Day, however...
January 7th, 2022 at 2:25 PM ^
Would Gattis be able to keep the rest of the staff intact? Also, if Harbaugh does go, do the refs stop screwing Michigan over?
January 7th, 2022 at 2:28 PM ^
Refs were screwing us long before Harbaugh was our coach.
January 7th, 2022 at 2:40 PM ^
Agreed, but it seemed almost personal when it comes to their grudge with JH.
January 7th, 2022 at 2:47 PM ^
Am I crazy to think i'd rather have Macdonald get the job than Gattis? Something about him makes me think his career will skyrocket.
But a Gattis with Weiss as his OC and Mac as his DC intrigues me.
In all honesty, I think the available coaching pool right now stinks. I think we'll be in the market for a new coach in 3-4 years, unfortunately. Maybe by then, someone like Macdonald or Weiss will be groomed enough to take the gig.
January 7th, 2022 at 3:29 PM ^
Gattis to HC Hart to OC and put a call into Thomas Wilcher and see if he’s interested in being a running back coach at UM?
January 7th, 2022 at 2:24 PM ^
Should definitely NOT be Gattis or Hart.
Fickell should be the first call followed by Aranda and Ruhle. If they all say no then go call our old buddy Campbell.
I know he's lost a lot of luster due to their poor season this year, but he still would be a better hire than any current coaches on UM's staff.
January 7th, 2022 at 2:33 PM ^
Rhule has a punchable face but he is successful in college at the coaching thing.
January 7th, 2022 at 2:38 PM ^
I'd rather UM take a shot at Gattis than Campbell at this point. We've seen what Campbell is, and while that is "pretty good coach at a low-stress P5 level" this year followed more his classic script of playing a bunch of close games and winning about 50% of them. That's not going to fly at UM and on top of that I thought his team looked overwhelmed by expectations and undercoached at times despite having one of the most experienced teams in the country.
At least with Gattis you've got a guy who has been at UM and the strength of the team next year is going to be the offense so you've got some familiarity there. I do agree that Aranda or Ruhle are better bets over Gattis or Campbell.
January 7th, 2022 at 2:57 PM ^
Definitely take Gattis over Campbell. He would be able to keep this very good staff together JayBaugh might follow his dad but I think everyone else stays. Find a new OC and special team coach and we should be just fine
January 7th, 2022 at 2:28 PM ^
Dabo Swinney! He can keep the coordinators since his all left him...
/s
January 7th, 2022 at 2:47 PM ^
I don't think it'd be a dumb idea to try. This wouldn't be a rebuild for him like most coaching openings. More of a blue blood than Clemson..
January 7th, 2022 at 3:00 PM ^
If they won't let Harbaugh bend rules, Swinney has no chance to sway them. His fake bible banging crap will never work there. He sucks without cheating.
January 7th, 2022 at 2:32 PM ^
This isn't an ideal time to start a coaching search. Late to the party and the current staff is pretty stable and solid. Bringing in someone entirely new means an almost entirely new staff as well. Recruits maybe asking to get out of their LOI, current players look elsewhere, etc.
Gattis - This still feels too early/a bit of a blind swing. However, if it were him I'd imagine the rest of the staff stays intact. Moore to OC and still has OL duties to some degree. Hart to maybe Co-OC.
Hart - He's only ever been a RB coach. Not even a coordinator level. That would be a bad hire and only makes sense if Manuel salivates at the "Michigan Man" idea.
BOB - Meh. Kind of an ass hole who by most reports doesn't like recruiting and really only flamed out in the NFL because he got his hands on the GM role. I'd expect him to try to get back into the NFL. Think he's interviewing with the Jags or something next week.
Fickell - Possibly the most OSU coach alive. Born in Columbus, played for OSU, coached for OSU, still coaches in Ohio. I don't think he'd take the job even if offered Brian Kelly money.
January 7th, 2022 at 2:41 PM ^
There is zero chance that Fickell is Michigan's head coach, ever. Zero.
January 7th, 2022 at 2:58 PM ^
I would have agreed it's a zero percent chance last year but with ND going with Freeman and Day pretty entrenched at OSU, there may not be another power in the midwest that has an opening for a few more years. I think it's a long shot but you still make the call and he may be more open to listening.
January 7th, 2022 at 6:00 PM ^
Fickell will wait for Day to leave and then go to OSU. Fickell will not go Blue.
January 7th, 2022 at 3:12 PM ^
Well…. thats precisely what Woody thought about Bo taking the UM job. Sooo…
January 7th, 2022 at 3:21 PM ^
Why? Because he played and coached at Ohio State? You do remember a guy named Gary Moeller, right?
January 7th, 2022 at 4:03 PM ^
I did not know that Moeller was an OSU player. I also didn't know he was our DC before he was our OC. Does that happen anymore? Seems like people only coach one side of the ball these days.
January 7th, 2022 at 4:10 PM ^
Not only was Moeller an OSU player, he was co-captain of the 1963 Buckeye team. The difference with Moeller, of course, was that he was on Bo's staff for some years before being named head coach.
January 7th, 2022 at 5:55 PM ^
Key differences.
Moeller never coached at OSU. He started his coaching career under Bo at Miami and immediately followed him to Michigan. After he flamed out at Illinois he went back to Michigan again.
Not the same situation.
January 7th, 2022 at 6:22 PM ^
FWIW, its been reported that he's told folks that he'd never consider Michigan under any circumstances. He hates Michigan.
Which is fine, he's a Buckeye. The fact that we're even having this conversation when Harbaugh is our coach is dumb.
January 7th, 2022 at 4:15 PM ^
Fickell - Possibly the most OSU coach alive.
A lot like that Schembechler guy a while back under Woody.
What ever became of him?
January 7th, 2022 at 5:59 PM ^
Much like Moeller, you're all missing part of the equation.
Bo didn't play for OSU. Moeller never coached for OSU. Neither were from Columbus, but that's not as big of a deal.
Fickell grew up there, played there, and coached there.
January 7th, 2022 at 2:34 PM ^
If it happens, you have got to go after Luke Fickell. That being said, I don't think he leaves. This is hopefully just the usual offseason talk because what else does anyone have to talk about in sports. Or, JH is just driving up his value.
January 7th, 2022 at 2:45 PM ^
Dave Clawson could be interesting at this point of the season.
January 7th, 2022 at 2:46 PM ^
Give me Kiffin with JJ, That would be fun to watch.
