don't want to add a tetanus infection to the other numerous problems.

Right on, Wendy

While I am 39, married, and a self-described old hag, I was surprised/disturbed at how distracting I find him.  I'm sure it is because of his excellent punting skill and ... the accent?

sorry

That sounds really terrible.

indeed

Yes, I had higher expectations for his working knowledge of physiology; but yeah, 2 days later is not lactic acid but DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness), as you indicated. However, I guess a good miler can be helpful in other ways, like keeping loose and such.

medical

Also, Harvard Medical School is Boston. He's unlikely to be considering that at this point though.

Great win!

Congrats, Coach!

That hair

is something special.

This

is beautiful.  Brings a tear to the eye.

I believe you are excellent

I believe you are excellent parents.

I recently learned about this

I recently learned about this guy Brian Letscher from "Scandal".  Unfortunately I don't watch enough non-sports-related television to know anything about the show.  I only found out about him because he was a guest on the Fantasy Focus Football podcast recently (11/25) and revealed that he played football at Michigan.  He shows up on the rosters around the early 90s.

Ah, yes.  I was wondering the

Ah, yes.  I was wondering the exact same thing at the time.  It is a weird enough rule in the NFL but I had never heard of it being applied at the college level.  I agree with you though, that it is the only possible explanation.

my thoughts exactly

It certainly gives some perspective to see Morris experience one game's worth of what DG has been going through for two seasons.

not gonna lie-

I may have had a nap or two during vizualization.

Quote of the day: "It is not

Quote of the day: "It is not a game for well-adjusted men".  Nice!

Happy America Day!

Happy America Day!

Not enough?

Just curious why someone would neg this?

It's OK

It's all good, really.  I was just noting that I do not like his hair.  This is really important, obviously.  This spares me from feeling bad about this if he ended up at Michigan.  I am certain with Crean's influence, it will look even worse (I mean, look at the guy!).  At least I only have to look at it like 2-3 times a year!

/s

here you go

It seems a wee bit dramatic but still worth watching.

not all of us

While it is the stereotype, we don't all fit that.  But I agree most women would love something like this.  I guess it depends on whether one likes a lot of attention or prefers more privacy.  It sounds terrifying to me, personally.

Great job Heiko!

I'm very impressed with your work and determination here.  I imagine soon he will reveal all regarding bubble screens.

I believe Elijah Johnson

I believe Elijah Johnson would concur.

I hope his man parts are OK!

I hope his man parts are OK!  That's what you call taking one for the team.

Lotus

It's actually the Iron Lotus.  The only reason I know is that I literally saw that movie for the first time a couple of days go.  I bet they killed that move.

I hear ya

I haven't gotten mine yet but now maybe I will at least look at the mag before throwing it into the recycle pile.

here but...

I live here in Bloomington but alas, my foolish decision to start nursing school has left me with neither spare dollars nor time for attendance.  Yet I somehow find time for this blog.  Go figure.

hurray!

Thanks for the update!  Can't wait to see how everything is going.  I proudly wore my shirt today, and intend to keep doing so. :)

Bless you

for easing my frustration.

This post makes me happy.

This post makes me happy.  Also, I thank you for the well-written, informative title.

indeed

I think it goes without saying that the kid is adorable.

too serious

Sad to see fun Taylor replaced by Mr. Serious.

Those would also be my

Those would also be my guesses.  I probably would not have thought of Vincent Smith, but listening to the way his teammates talk about him makes it seem like a realistic possibility with it being a team vote and all.

indeed

My first thought upon viewing the big maize strip was that they are insidiously inching closer to all maize.  Maybe the powers that be thought we'd never notice (not that they would care though)?  That combined with the gloves gave me a shudder as I was suddenly reminded of some trends found in the BHGP B1G/Pro Combat line.

awkward

Yeah, there is something just horribly awkward about it, particularly from the back.  Maybe my femaleness is making me notice it, but it really makes his ass look huge.  Perhaps it is the virtual model making it look weird.  But it really has that "mom jean" look from the back.  New trend, perhaps?  Also, that huge maize strip looks like trying to edge closer and closer to a full out maize design.  Make it stop!

new verb

+1 for the use of Herbstreit (though spelled different) as a verb there.  The usage is surely appropriate.

not overreacting

I'm thinking 5 games in 13 days might have something to do with it.  If it was a team full of upperclassmen it might not have been an issue.  I've been wondering if Burke would hit the schedule-induced wall at some point, especially with all the minutes he's been playing.  After the OT win Wednesday night, my first thought was "they're going to have a tough time at Iowa" with about 2 days, one of those traveling.  To me everyone just looked fatigued, slow, lost, out of sync, etc.  This is why the B1G is tough.  Not the end of the world though, as tough as that was to watch.  Looks like growing pains.  They'll get used to it and get better.

not money only

It wasn't just about money though.  According to Bacon's book none of RRs assistance at M had contracts.  Casteel staying at WVU offered him more money, job security in the form of a 2 year contract, and allowed him to keep his family in WV where they were comfortable.  All of this happened due to the fact that WVU decided to hire Bill Stewart from RRs previous staff.

So, yes M definitely needed to start forking over more cash for assistants but some contracts would have helped.

Love this.

I had serious abdominal fatigue from laughing so hard.  Too bad they didn't have a few more or the whole team for that matter.

Kovacs reminds me of the little kid in Christmas Story in the pink bunny suit.  So awesome.

WTKA

Last week the Michigan Insider guys hit this pretty hard.  They played clips of Borges from, I believe, the coach's radio show in which he completely owns that play call.  The podcasts from 10/20 include several segments where they replay some of his comments.   Among other things, he acknowledged that as being not the right call for that particular situation and fully took responsibilty, which was kind of amazing to hear.  Hope this helps!

right on

I couldn't agree more.  My first thought when I saw this post was "and this is important because...?".  If this were track and not football, I would get it.  However, we know Denard has way more going for him than just speed, which in itself is still fantastic.

Yes

that was the first thing I thought of when I started watching this.  Very weird/interesting.

agreed!

Yes, I was just thinking about that a couple days ago, wondering if he would be gracing us with his beautiful art this season.  C'mon MonuMental!  We know you're out there!

Thanks Heiko!

Great job on your first post!  I really appreciate the detail of the direct quotes.

agreed

The best way to watch games outside of Ann Arbor is with local alums.  I lived in Boston from 2003-2010.  The BTN didn't exist when I first got there but also took awhile to get it in our cable package once it did.  The local alumni club bars were some of the best memories I have watching games there.  My experience watching the 2008 Wisconsin game, for example, will always live on in my memories. Going crazy, jumping around and hugging total strangers after such a depressing start still makes me smile.

Alaska Nanook Bear Agrees

Nice Logo.

And congrats, fearless leader of MGoBlog!  Many blessings and happy years to you and Mrs. MGoBlog.  Speaking from personal experience and 7 years of marriage, if your soon-to-be spouse has stuck with you through the past 4 years of Michigan football, you guys can handle anything!  And, unlike my idiotic friends who like to schedule weddings in the fall-on Saturdays no less!-all of your sports-loving friends will applaud you for scheduling yours in the "dead period" of sports when there is nothing else to pay attention to.

impressive

That sounds like something straight out of The Onion.  Well done.

Funny,

I just discovered the same thing this morning.  I started catching up on this week's shows today via the downloaded podcasts.  I quickly found myself clamoring to skip over portions out of habit to restore sanity, only to remember he was on all of them. Man, he is so grating, like a stupid and whiney high school boy.  And unfortunately I had it on while running in hot and humid weather.  The combo was enough to make me want to throw the ipod into a lake.  Sam, do NOT go on vacation any more!!!

Nice!

You've reached a new level of awesomeness, Denarded.  This is great.  And that Odoms pic is beautiful.
