Frank. That is because the rule changes have eliminated the big man. A 7ft man that can move quick enough to defend the hoop with a defensive 3 second rule is rare. You want to know why true centers are disappearing? LBJ would struggle if they took away the defensive 3 second rule so it is here as long as LBJ is the biggest star. Take away the defensive 3 second rule and true centers return to dominance. But fans don't want a diverse game sadly. Fans want 3s being jacked and highlight dunks. So we will have more and more teams with no variety. |
3 years 47 weeks ago | All this money being spent |
All this money being spent and they are falling behind. Kentucky has bad ass dorms for their athletes, Kansas is building bad ass housing for athletes. More will do the same and we're booked for years without. Facilities are nice but showing a potential athlete they can live better trumps facilities. Somewhere along the line this all needs to stop. The student athletes are quickly losing the student experience. |

4 years 4 weeks ago | I knew Nebraska had not had |
I knew Nebraska had not had much success in basketball but I had no idea they had never won an NCAA tourney game. Interesting article. |

If anyone was still curious it was the discovery of the first direct evidence of cosmic inflation. Proof of the big bang. |
4 years 6 weeks ago | Wisconsin is now locked into |
Wisconsin is now locked into the 2. I'm curious how the bracket is aligned. I know we play the winner of the 8/9 which I believe is Indiana/Illinois(don't quote me on teams) but how does the rest of the bracket set up? I'd assume we'd play the 4 in the 3rd round(our 2nd game) |

A rich person makes fun of a poor person, in that moment who looks worse? But perhaps I'm being too generous to those making fun of Carlos |
4 years 7 weeks ago | Honestly Izzo may be done. He |
Honestly Izzo may be done. He sounds like a wimp that got dumped. I've never seen worse leadership. Excuse, whine, excuse, wine, excuse, whine. If a coach isn't going to be a man how can you expect the players? I don't like Staee but I genuinely hate what a horrible human being Izzo is when things don't go his way. It's utterly pathetic. |
4 years 7 weeks ago | I really don't understand |
I really don't understand this site. Apparently there was a gameday thread but I couldn't see it. So I start one, now I can't seee that thread. But State lost, a win today and we are B1G Champions!!! |
4 years 7 weeks ago | This site is strange for me |
This site is strange for me sometimes, I see no other gameday thread and I still see no other gameday thread. I believe you, I'm just saying it isn't showing up for me for some reason |
4 years 9 weeks ago | If you have any questions why |
If you have any questions why the East is dog doo compared to the West just look at the reserves for each team. The West is loaded with near MVP quality players and the East has, umm, not near MVP players. The league has to find a way to fix the dumpster fire that is theEastern Conference. |
4 years 9 weeks ago | It seems to be commonly |
It seems to be commonly accepted Coach Bs teams can't play D. It's possible but, even with all his years of coaching, I'd say the jury is still out. When judging this you have to consider that almost all his career he has coached up inferior talent. Athleticism is a very big part of defense, not all obviously, but a big part. Coach has only recently had top quality talent and we seem to ignore howw crazy young that talent has been. Senior Morgan is a hell of a defender considering his physical attributes, Junior Horford is a hell of a defender considering his physical attributes. The rest of the team is freshman and sophomores. |
4 years 10 weeks ago | There's starting to be some |
There's starting to be some buzz Michigan has a shot with him. It was originally thought it would be just the bluebloods competing for him. Coach B just has to keep developing the talent we have and we'll get a look. |
4 years 11 weeks ago | I came into the day not |
I came into the day not terribly excited but I've been running through the signees in my head over and over and that's changed. 1 5* I'm glad we didn't make any signing day reaches. We need a big year on the field next season and an attention grabbing class. I think we're capable of both. |
4 years 11 weeks ago | I stand corrected. I hadn't |
I stand corrected. I hadn't watched a Brunson video in a good spell and I thought I remembered him looking a true 6'. But upon your input I went and watched some videos and he doesn't look 6' to me either. My apologies for the misinformation. Hopefully these kids have a couple inches of growth left. Or at least hopefully if one chooses Michigan he has a couple inches of growth left haha |
4 years 11 weeks ago | I hate Duke but that |
I hate Duke but that officiating was a travesty. Duke is winning so Jefferson gets his 4th on a bad call, Duke is still winning Parker gets his 4th. Duke falls down by 7 with no bigs so they bring Jefferson back and start climbing back in it, they bring Parker back and tie it up. Parker scores to take the lead, nope BS flop call. Then they get Jefferson out on another flop. Duke magically sends it to overtime and Hood who also had 4 fouls in regulation BTW drives to take the lead and gets hit on the arm making him miss the game winning dunk. Does he get the call, no! I should add Dawkins fouled out as well and no Cuse player was ever near foul trouble. I don't get why refs favor home teams so badly. Are they worried about being booed? They're professionals, the crowd and venue should be the only advantage of home court advantage. |
4 years 11 weeks ago | This kid would be a nightmare |
This kid would be a nightmare at Sparty with how they constantly push. Let's hope he wants a little freedom in his offense because nobody runs more sets than State. It seems like we've made a nice push with Brunson and Illinois burned that bridge so we have a shot. The blue bloods like Kansas are getting involved though. I'd rather have Brunson because of size and he's a year ahead but if we don't get Brunson I'd be really happy with Cassius.(although as often is the case I have serious doubt about his listed height) |
4 years 11 weeks ago | I think this State loss hurts |
I think this State loss hurts the B1G bad. State is supposed to be one of our top teams. Losing to a dumpster fire like Georgetown right as the media starts to run with a B1G is overrated theme is really bad timing. |
4 years 11 weeks ago | That's nuts, I read that and |
That's nuts, I read that and I had to look it up myself for confirmation. If he or she had said Thad Matta was 60 I wouldn't have had a 2nd thought about it. |
4 years 11 weeks ago | Tonight- 22 points on 8/9 |
Tonight- 22 points on 8/9 shooting and 6 assists. I should mention it's only halftime. He only has 9 shots because they're running the double at him. When does a team break out the box + 1? |
4 years 12 weeks ago | I love Coach B. Everything he |
I love Coach B. Everything he does seems right. LeVert is loose with the ball but they keep using him because we need a secondary creator. Work the kinks out before the intensity ramps up. Love it.. Also love how he used this game to work on a few other defenses. It's no wonder his teams get better and better as the season progresses. We have our base and little by little we work on other facets. I can only imagine what he would do with a talented senior laden team. Doubt we'll see that because the players are too good to stay that long but it's nice to imagine. |
4 years 12 weeks ago | Again, big MJ fan so I'm not |
Again, big MJ fan so I'm not trying to have a dig. But while in PPG yes Mike has had great runs and seasons. But to score over 31 a game while doing it at the 2nd greatest PPFGA ever behind only Adrian Dantly is phenomenal. 1.58 points per shot and rising every game. It's crazy. |
4 years 12 weeks ago | I tried to find it for you |
I tried to find it for you but the NBA has so many crazy advanced stats now I couldn't make heads or tails of what I was reading. I had heard that on some sports show and I was surprised to hear he was playing such good D. I don't remember if they said 3rd in defensive PER or a plus minus shooting percentage defense or what but I think it was PER. I remember specifically they said he ranked 3rd behind George and Leonard. |
4 years 12 weeks ago | It's all good, you were |
It's all good, you were right. I've only ever started like 3 threads so I didn't really think it all through. I just wanted a subject to push through until the Iowa/State game. If I had a real direction I probably would have elaborated. |

Is someone going to start a thread for Iowa/State? Big game |
4 years 12 weeks ago | Big MJ then Kobe fan here so |
Big MJ then Kobe fan here so you'll get no arguments from me. But I will point out what Kevin is doing is more than points. His efficiency is currently 2nd all time to Adrian Dantly. And he grades out to be the 3rd rated defender at his position behing only Paul George and Kawai Leonard. It's quite a feat all things considered |
4 years 12 weeks ago | You're right, I'll add "is |
You're right, I'll add "is ballin" but it's too late the thread should really just be taken down because we both know it's all about the title now |
4 years 12 weeks ago | Check any NBA message |
Check any NBA message board. I don't post on any so I thought I'd throw it out here. I don't get why many people can't enjoy both. They're both great. |

That it's important to beat a team at full strength. Nobody will care in 3 years. Not about a specific team but it needed to be said. |
