Third Down was the Difference
When you look back at why this happened, it was a totally dominant performance on BOTH sides of the ball on critical third downs, especially on offense. The second half the defense gave up some critical pass plays, but being able to stop when we needed and, more critically, covert and convert and convert was the single most important factor of this game.
What a day to be alive! I expect all of the Harbaugh denouncers to send their best lemon-eating videos

Was it ? We scored 42 points. As great of a job the defense did, the offense was just as important.

His post is about 3rd down on both sides of the ball.

Not really because we had significantly shorter distances to gain. Which means we won 1st and 2nd down.
of course converting first downs is important

Yeah, HH was consistently getting 3-4 yards on 1st down and the short passing game was working on 2nd. All making 3rd down easy.
Did we have any plays run with negative yards? I don't remember any, and like I said, it seemed Haskins was always at least falling forward for 3 yards

One... two at the most? Play calling was great all day long but the execution was incredible. The O-Line bullied the Ohio defensive front and HH was a man running with a purpose.
