We also drove A2 to Toledo. It took us 2 hours down and 2.5 hours back. I think it was worth it as I have never seen a total eclipse before. I took my son and his girlfriend and I think they enjoyed it - especially getting most of the day off school. We had a picnic in a park near the Toldeo Zoo (which was at maximum capacity). We were also surprised about how cool it got through the whole event.
We are season ticket holders who used to be students and we have always wondered why the people around us don't join in as we're yelling "How Much Time is Left". I feel like I'm leading by example for the adults around us.
A contract is something you sign with an employee, not a "student-athlete". They can't share the revenue only with football players due to Title IX so NIL isn't going to go away.
The only solution will be to jettison football as we know it into a minor league, separate from the university, that plays games at the stadiums. The athletic department could continue to be funded by ticket sales/merch/food. Obviously, this will mean getting rid of most of the athletic department given the loss of revenue.
I am a season ticket holder who got the paper tickets this year, and they are totally plain without designs. It was a huge disappointment to us, as we always save our ticket stubs. So, no, they are not placeholders, sadly.
I'd assume that any money made by that outside entity still comes into the university and then could fund the other non-revenue sports... or not... This seems like an end-around Title IX and I don't think it would fly.
I really hate that they did that to S. Division. We go to hockey, too and it's such a problem. I was really hoping they would suspend on street parking on game days to alleviate the bottle neck, but, nope. A2 is really trying to become aggressively anti-car, but they forget that not everyone who enjoys coming to A2 lives there. Given the lack of regional mass transit, to get to A2, you have to have a car.
There was an older guy in front of us all season that would bring books and newspapers (both, in case he finished one or the other) to every game this season. He was by himself, so I really don't get why he was going.
I wouldn't be surprised if he can't sell Frozone shirts because that is a Disney character and they don't really allow any use of characters outside of officially licensed products.
I was really hoping that they would make a Harbaugh hype video with Harbaugh pumping up the players and crowd. But maybe that wasn't allowed. It would have been cool.
One of my favorite things is when they use the closed captioning of the songs and you get to see the lyrics. Maybe sometimes we don't really need to see the lyrics.
There's a slim chance, but even the ESPN groupthinkers were saying that the M-OSU game yesterday was like a playoff game that OSU lost. I thought their chance would've been better if either Alabama or FSU lost last night (which definitely seemed to be real possibilities) but now it's pretty much over. Michigan, Georgia/Alabama, Washington/Oregon, Texas/FSU
I think he lives in Burns Park area, so it's pretty close to the hospital. And, during the game, traffic in A2 is pretty light. I'm sure he was on the phone with the team docs, so he knew what was going on and where to be. But, I think that looks like a post op wrap on the leg, not a pre op leg in an air cast, so maybe the clock is wrong?
I disagree. As I'm sure you recall, the Big Ten has been screwing Michigan in favor of OSU for decades (and I'm thinking of the "Tiebreaker" in particular). Michigan must take a forceful stance once and for all and show it will not be a pushover for the petty jealousies of the other little Ten.
Michigan generally doesn't lose to pocket passers. Historically, it's mobile QBs who kill Michigan. Warren Moon, Kordell Stewart, Donovan McNabb, all those Tressel/Meyer QBs, etc. If you make McCord move out of the pocket he'll lose the game for them. The key is to do that before he can throw in the direction of Marvin Harrison. I'm fully confident in Ryan Day's ability to lose this game for them as well.
Well, the students were yelling Fuck Ohio, but they do that every game, so nothing new. It really wasn't cheering for ND, more just cheering against Ohio, as always.
I also noticed that some things that normally happen later in the game, like the wave and the Blues Brothers, happened in the 2nd quarter. Well, the wave didn't really get going, but the students were trying to make it happen.
We've been bringing our kids since they were very little (2 and 4). You can get the wrist bands for your daughter in case she gets lost. At age 10 you could consider getting a burner phone just for use in large crowds, have your number programmed into it. Another suggestion is to get there early and orient her to the area - where your seats are, where the closest bathroom is, etc... You can also set up an emergency meeting spot - like if you can't find me, meet at the chicken and waffle stand (something unique, so there isn't confusion about which place). I really felt better once the kids had phones because we could text and we also have the Life360 app, so I could see where they were. Also, the ushers are really good about helping kids out, if your daughter needed to ask for help, they aren't going to blow her off. Maybe ask one of her friends and their Dad if they want to go as well, then one Dad can be in charge of the girls while the other goes to the bathroom or gets refreshments. Strength in numbers! Good luck!
Back in the olden days (before Covid), the Club would have food just like this! It was pretty cool, but hard to do for some schools. Like Rutgers? Northwestern? I suppose for Chicago you could do Chicago style pizza, but they didn't do that. Iowa and Nebraska got corn based stuff. Wisconsin got Brats. OSU got Cincinnati chili. It would be cool if they could do it for the whole stadium.
Thanks so much for facilitating this! I always like to sell my extras to Michigan fans! I still have 4 tix left for this week, 2 for PSU, Nebraska and Illinois. email me at maizemama1 at gmail.

I really hope that none of these fast guys become zombies in the zombie apocalypse! If they do, we are all screwed!
I can see it if asked as a question: Who else would you be considering if you were us, Jim?
I'm sure he'd say Shaw...

I loved his speech. He was really fantastic!

(sorry, medical…
PTSD*
(sorry, medical terminology police, Stockholm Syndrome would be if he joined Michigan)
Makes sense from the standpoint that he becomes an instant starter there. Head scratcher as they might not be able to actually get him the ball.

Yay, Galens! I'm a fellow Galens alum and former Tag Days Czar. Galens really does great work at Mott and across the county.

My first thought is that you have a very rational take on this.
My second thought is that this is learned helplessness on all of our parts.

I guess C.J. Carr is doing great at ND?

Is it just me, or were you staring at the banner behind him that you could only see *UCKS and think of at least two other words that were not "BUCKS"?
And that's exactly why this is gold. If you're delusional about why you're losing, you'll never figure out how to actually win.

It looks like he's going in for the uncomfortable eye contact. Yeah, just shake and walk, no eye contact needed.

No, I mean, who do you think you are that you could possibly deserve some cream cheese?
That's the best part!

I did notice that, but it wasn't synced with the time out clock on the field. That was weird.

It could be on your network, if you own one! Or your YouTube channel or Insta!
I have 4 tickets in section 6 for all the games. I can be reached at maizemama1 at gmail.
Availability update 8/17: All 4 for ECU game, all 4 for Rutgers game, 2 for Indiana game. The remainder have been sold.

I thought the bowl was wedged between the fat belly and the fat leg. The face is so long, it's like the jaw is too long.

All of them are available.
Pain in the ass
Great, since I'm not a mod, I can't delete it myself. You don't have to read it.
Have a great day and go blue!
Replying to myself to clarify for anyone who is interested:
They are rows 37 and 38.
I am selling the games individually, you don't need to buy the whole season.
I prefer if you buy all 4 or a pair, I don't want to sell singles.
Thanks so much! The Stubhub site is such a PITA I don't want to deal with it.
Update: the OSU tix have been sold! Indiana still available.
