Anyone have early thoughts about Michigan-OSU?

I can't help myself. The Game is on my mind at the moment. 🤷🏾‍♂️

As of right now, I'm a little concerned about Michigan's situation at OT. OSUs defense has improved and the threat of Egbuka, Harrison, and Henderson is significant.

What are your thoughts?

OSU is a very good team.

We'll likely need to pass more than we just did. If the OT is an issue, get JJ rolling out where he can run or pass.

Put pressure on McCord, don't let him sit still in the pocket.

I agree. This seemed a big issue with the crowd noise and very likely because Moore had so much on his plate. Of course, this also used A LOT extra clock through the entirety of the game and we obviously ended up using how fast (recklessly?) those DEs fired into the line at the snap against them, too. But I hope to see us mix up when we snap it a lot more for OSU and Maryland.

By far the biggest cry baby in the B10. Watch any game they play, he lives in the refs back pocket telling them exactly how to call the game. There’s no doubt this entire investigation will one day be traced back to him.

I think MI can have a similar gameplan as the psu game. Bring in extra lineman and TEs and make them stop the run. Will need to be more dynamic passing the ball though. On defense stay the course...stop the run, get pressure on qb and double Harrison as much as possible.

yes, my early thoughts are an osu is soft, their coach is a whiny crybaby snitch-ass bitch, and they can all fuck themselves with rusty hammers

Years of BPONE has conditioned me to expect and predict the worse.

On paper, we should be able to run the ball on OSU as they struggle against the run. That being said, Michigan’s O-Line doesn’t look as sharp and Ohio State has a slightly improved defense. I’m also not impressed by our edge rush/pass rush. I’d be more confident if Harbaugh was coaching.

I am a basketball coach, so don’t have a thorough understanding of football schemes, but watching the game Saturday, other than adding the extra lineman, it looked like we had different blocking schemes than what we showed through the first 9 games. Almost like we used a vanilla type running game until we needed to shift to something else.

My BPONE is still strong.

I have scheduled a condo in the same unit in South Carolina where I went 2 years ago.

I can't be here in Columbus if we lose. Waking on the beach with the sound of the ocean with my oldest son is likely the only realistic solution to maintain mental health that afternoon should we lose.

Hopefully I'll be writing the score in the sand again.

I think Ohio State is in major trouble.

For a “safeties-driven” defense that Knowles runs, they are down their top-2 two safeties in Lathan Ransom and Josh Proctor, and they are down arguably their best/most consistent player in MLB T. Eichenberg. There’s no way their defense can adjust in time to handle Michigan’s balanced attack.

On offense, their offensive line is going to get eaten alive by Michigan’s defense. That unit has looked pathetic and mistake-ridden all season.

Michigan generally doesn't lose to pocket passers. Historically, it's mobile QBs who kill Michigan. Warren Moon, Kordell Stewart, Donovan McNabb, all those Tressel/Meyer QBs, etc. If you make McCord move out of the pocket he'll lose the game for them. The key is to do that before he can throw in the direction of Marvin Harrison. I'm fully confident in Ryan Day's ability to lose this game for them as well.

Too many variables in play for me to think more beyond generalities until after Maryland, a team we can't sleep on regardless of how good or bad they've been.

Generally? It's OSU. They're super talented.
