Steve Breaston…

There are a LOT of nerds who come to this site; and I mean a ton. I love their insights on most things but they are so weird about Dave because he’s this brash, outspoken caricature and they HATE that he has a Michigan degree. He was the guy that represented the Greeks/Jocks that they saw in undergrad.

The mob here will also lean on Dave’s past mistakes (which are all very public and not illegal whatsoever) and link out journalistic clickbait to said stories, yet they will scream about Pete Thamel and other media because it doesn’t fit their ideological standards.

Hating Dave around here is hypocrisy in so many ways. The dude the most outspoken media star, with the biggest platform, and absolutely loves Michigan, yet not one dork around here can embrace that because “his internet character is mean.”

I mean I played hockey growing up and was in a frat at Michigan when I went there and I hate Portnoy. I’m 51 now. Sometimes it’s just time to grow up and the shit you found amusing when you were young and immature 20 maybe actually isn’t all that good when you’re an adult raising others to be good human beings. In all honesty, he’s kind of a POS. Would you want your son to emulate him? Would you want your daughter to date or marry him? I suspect the answer to both of these questions is no. He’s a very problematic figure, Michigan fan or not.

I also wouldn’t want me daughter to marry or date 90% of men out there. That line is a complete strawman. I’m not aware of the racist things these articles purport as I don’t watch any of barstools content nor do I follow or care about portnoy. If harbsugh and Michigan are innocent until proven guilty, why isn’t portnoy.

All those fancy cars that happen to come from one of OSU's boosters going to out-of-state players' families with "legitimate" paperwork. There is so much corruption underneath that university and sweater was happy to let it happen.  Meanwhile, a couple of cheeseburgers and a rogue staffer doing what every other school is doing is somehow the biggest scandal of the century.

Can any of you editing wizards take this clip of Cryin Ryan walking up the tunnel and set it to the sad Charlie Brown music like they do in Arrested Development?

Day is 56-7. Three losses were in the CFP, three were to Michigan, and one was to Oregon.

He hasn’t been crushed by Purdue and Iowa like Urbz was. He hasn’t lost a home game to a MSU team playing it’s third string QB.

Ratface should move on to the NFL. OSU is a toxic environment for mental health.

To hear him say multiple times today (probably prior) how much this game means to "so many people outside the program" or something to that effect was pretty illuminating yet pathetic.  Like, he was so subtlety stating how toxic that fan base is.  His feeling of always needling to cater to and "shout out" that invalid fan base has to be exhausting.

I just saw the video of a dejected Day walking down the tunnel with his head hung and I was like, "Dammit, man, do not make me feel sorry for you!!!"

I hate to say it, but Ryan Day is a very good football coach with a record of only three Big Ten losses, all to Michigan. While that no doubt makes OSU's fanbase want to bring out the pitchforks and torches, those who want him replaced had better be careful what they wish for.

Look what we went through during the RichRod and Hoke eras. And think about what Nebraska has gone through since firing a coach who won 9 or 10 games a season. The hot coach they hired this year went 5-7. The other recent coaches were no better.

Lots of our fanbase wanted Harbaugh gone when he'd clearly improved the team, but couldn't get over the hump against OSU. I guess no one's patient these days. Harbaugh overcame that and is now a Hall of Fame coach, as far as I'm concerned.

Point is, OSU will be well-served if they hang on to Ryan Day, and make the minor adjustments to whatever made them lose today, because they came damn close to winning. We didn't beat a team that lacked toughness. We beat a very good football team.

There will always be questions about Day, thus the Harbaugh born on 3rd base statement. Day's record is amazing but when you factor in that Urban Meyer really built that program up to higher levels, which were pretty good after sweater vest left, you really do not know. Day can recruit, but how difficult is it to recruit at a winning program which has all of the added athlete perks?

It is very difficult to judge the guy as his recruiting classes are top 3 annually.  I think there have to be 20 coaches who could do what he does with that talent base. The Big 10 has 2-3 teams annually that can hold a candle to OSU in any way shape or form.  So the win loss gets inflated.

Yes Urbz did lose to Purdue but he had a different offense as well - OSU can basically outscore anyone but 2 teams annually with both the offense they now run (which is more pass oriented than Urbz) and talent they have.

Day was a field goal away from getting to the championship game to take on TCU.  The 12 team playoff will favor OSU as they are built for turf fields, indoors, all the bling etc - and get invited every year.  Michigan is his kryptonite but with the new playoff system it won't matter as much go forward.

Agreed.  Ryan Day is a very good coach.

Jim Harbaugh is better, and to top it off Day got outcoached by Sherrone Moore on Saturday.

As long as Harbaugh coaches at Michigan, OSU is going to be at a disadvantage.  Michigan won't win every Game, but we'll have the upper hand.

The Ohio plan has to be either a) hold the course and wait for JH to leave Michigan, or b) try to find a coach who can beat him.  Option b would be very, very difficult to accomplish--there aren't many coaches out there who can do that.
