1. Favorite store depends on the year of my life and the  time of year- Costco right now, followed closely by our local wine shop and local grocer/ vegetable market.  Admittedly, I have grown to enjoy providing support to the wife’s estate sale hobby.

2.  Besides a handful of chemical commodities sites and a sort list of e-commerce sites to save time (eg. Amazon) I enjoy reading the New York Times and Atlantic on line.

3. No tattoos for either of us.

4.  PSU will be here shortly, thanks for allowing our support group use of your back room. I’m here to help them determine a proper tip.

5. I’m comfortable from 4-8- let’s call it a 6.

I think that I am an outlier…

I think that I am an outlier on this topic.  This starts with the parents, who teach their kids not to respect the refs, and ultimately we have a cultural problem.  It is not just a parents problem.   I have coached, multiple sports for over a decade and a lack of respect for officials is pervasive. It’s one reason why, although I don’t mind some reasonable discussion on why a call was wrong or missed, the large amount of bellyaching on this site is something I ignore. As a football coach if your game plan doesn’t take into account how the refs are calling the game that’s your problem. And if your team thinks it’s ok to focus on the one or two bad calls rather than winning decisively that is also your problem.

I 100 percent agree with you…

I 100 percent agree with you. but it’s difficult for some of us, myself included, to watch a game where 2023 Michigan is not controlling the clock and can’t run effectively and conclude it is a good offensive effort.

I think I’m probably wasting a lot of unnecessary mental energy if Look too far past our glaring and costly mistakes.

From an o-line perspective I…

From an o-line perspective I would love to review the play by play. Curious about a number of things that I almost always get wrong if not charted.  I suspect first level blocking was good but not much else. Also want to revisit their defensive formation because the box always seemed stacked.

1. I don’t enjoy watching Juwan’s teams play as much as I did John’s.  More consistent play would help. We have been watching more  of our Woman’s team.

2.  I love Juwan as a alumnus, player and coach.        I so badly want to see him settle into and grow as Michigan’s head coach.

3. I could do without “hot temper” drama, real or imagined.

I just took my youngest son…

I just took my youngest son to the PSU game and the afternoon and night before we toured campus,  hit Frita Batidos and followed  it up with a “cider” at Bills Beer Garden…  not exactly tradition but he absolutely loved getting a feel for campus.  Game day was the usual tailgate at Allmendinger park and watching the band march in… for PSU the band did a phenomenal percussion set before the march… I hope it gets posted…

I thought that he was pretty levelheaded… also matter of fact about having to play well enough overcome penalties.

As a coach my point has always been win your battles and win the game in a manner that one errant call won’t cause a loss.

Glad you posted this. I’m…

Glad you posted this. I’m pretty focused and calm during Michigan games and I actually howled when I saw this play… my wife was not to pleased.  It was a sickening head shot.  I really believe the refs are doing a much better job with targeting, they just missed this one.

It was all that we expected-…

It was all that we expected- look at the box score… don’t get caught up in a “stressful” 4th Q.
I will say Gus and Joel have fallen, their desire to create silly narratives the last 2 games, has me turning the volume off…

I love this place but the idea that we have been able to glean anything about this defense from those first two  games is absolutely ridiculous.

I agree, I always represent when at non Michigan  B10 sporting events…

I had a similar experience…

I had a similar experience at the Purdue -PSU game on Thursday night… such great fans on both sides but a dicey situation in the stands with 2 pass out drunk dudes above us yelling the same type stuff.  Thankfully no kids were around. Feeling a bit outnumbered and just below him  I didn’t say anything  but after spilling his beer and passing out he left by halftime…

I loved the defensive…

I loved the defensive performance…. But  (1) last year we were able to get pressure with 3 rushers and (2) we took for granted the edge was set… Will be interesting to see what happens as we go against stronger teams…

Samsung house here and we have one 65 inch TV  in the family room and one 65 inch TV  in the 3 seasons room and there is a kitchen in between.  I will flip back and fourth between games on the main TV but I mainly love walking from room to room.   I just like to be able to move around…

As an Ohio resident, I tried to get all 3 of mine to at least consider OSU for undergrad and they all refused.  In state tuition and improving academics make it a compelling option.

It’s been a pleasure to watch both teams this year.

One thing we love about the Women’s team is (with the exception of Brown’s injury) it’s been a very consistent viewing experience…

Foo Fighters music is not my jam but I randomly read The Storyteller by David Grohl on a ski trip and it gave me a tremendous appreciation for The Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins. Hawkins seemed like a good person and a great dude in general.

I don’t envy these student athletes.  That is a very mild, respectful quote.  It seems too subtle to be bulletin board material.  My how the state of the rivalry has changed with Michigan’s most recent win… I forget the final score… maybe someone can remind me…

This is an unfortunate,…

This is an unfortunate, regrettable situation.  Manuel has some employee development work to do and PR issues to manage.  Howard has a suspension coming.  The team may be shorthanded for a few games. Our fanbase has to deal with the disappointment of one of our own clearly having issues that negatively affect the Michigan image.  Some of us will have a few humbling, difficult conversations.

But on the bright side, I find our MGOBLOG dialog cathartic as we work through this.  Our posters are oftentimes thoughtful, clever and hilarious and even when I don't agree, I feel like it was not a waste of my time to spend a few minutes here.

I've only had time to read 1 article today and this was it (thanks Seth and commenting bloggers)...

Exactly, it is Groundhog Day… all the same bloggers wanting Harbaugh gone because of “this will kill recruiting” are now saying they want Howard gone because “this will kill recruiting”  I’m all for a reasonable take… and not defending Howard right now but the recruiting angle is tiresome.

Thinking about the "talent" …

Thinking about the "talent" / recruiting rankings we have on this roster, it reminds me of the occasional year when MSU falls flat despite a great / "talented" roster...   But then you look at Izzo's 23 straight tournament appearances...

And no I don't like MSU, I can barely watch an MSU basketball game because of Izzo's sideline antics. I just hope Howard (1) gets better at managing incoming/new classes  and (2) we see improvement each year as the season progresses.  .
