I know that next season has…

I know that next season has to happen, but I am perfectly fine with the status quo. Still hard to think about a new season when the championship glow hasn't died down yet.

They look great. Just wish…

They look great. Just wish they had actual seat numbers. Would have made it 10 times better.

I think there are parallels,…

I think there are parallels, but Michigan is still an easier place to win than Stanford, which was not a football school when Harbaugh got there. Presumably, it should be easier for Moore to maintain Harbaugh's success than it was for Shaw.

Hopefully there is another…

Hopefully there is another McDonald/Minter clone who is coming up the pipeline.

Good job. Suffice to say…

Good job. Suffice to say that engaging on this will not end well for this thread.

I think we will be fine in…

I think we will be fine in the short term (at least) with Moore. Hopefully we can find a replacement for Minter, assuming he goes with Harbaugh. Quarterback is the big question mark for next year.

Great for him. Wonder what…

Great for him. Wonder what we do now at QB.

I think I get one…

I think I get one automatically because I bought my tickets from the site that was sponsored on this blog. Hope so.

I understand the reasoning…

I understand the reasoning. I do not agree in this context. That does not mean that i never think government should ever pass any law to protect children. But i played tackle football growing up (until i was about 13) and valued it greatly.  I think that a complete government ban is overreach.

You are trying hard to make…

You are trying hard to make this discussion devolve into something it is not and making baseless assumptions about my political beliefs. My comment was about banning tackle football for kids. If you want to have discussions about other things, you should go somewhere else.

Yeah, my view is if there…

Yeah, my view is if there are two sides to the argument, then let parents and kids decide. I do not like the idea of an across the board government imposed ban. I feel like i learned toughness by playing tackle football in elementary school. I learned to overcome my fear of getting hit and to play through some level of pain and discomfort.  And in my experience, football did not become too violent until I was older than 12.

This is obviously newsworthy…

This is obviously newsworthy, but I am in absolutely no rush to think about next year. I am frozen in time.

Same thing we do every day…

Same thing we do every day pinky: run and use play action to keep the LB/Safeties honest and run JJ a handful of times to keep the numbers even.

Oregon could have offered…

Oregon could have offered both. In any event, I don’t understand those who suggest that wanting to get paid is a character flaw. oregon has a lot to offer plus money. Michigan didn’t pursue him very hard because of the guys they have and are pursuing. Everybody happy.  It is fine.

Got it. Thanks.

Got it. Thanks.

That must be over my head. I…

That must be over my head. I do not get it.

I am still confused about…

I am still confused about Michigan's NIL. Is someone able to explain how it works logistically? I assumed that Michigan would be among the schools that would have the most money to distribute in NIL. Why is that not the case? What are other schools, like Georgia/LSU doing that Michigan is not? Are all NIL deals endorsement deals? How do the schools coordinate with third party companies to make offers to recruits? And does money that goes through "collectives" get distributed to all players on the team equally?

Again, i am very confused by all of this. If anyone can explain or direct me to a reliable "NIL for dummy's" source, i would appreciate it.  Thanks.

Agree. I have a healthy dose…

Agree. I have a healthy dose of those myself. Hoping this year is different obviously.

I assume Dante Moore or…

I assume Dante Moore or Cameron Ward. Moore said he is looking for a school that develops quarterbacks and protects the quarterback. Hate to say it, but OSU checks those boxes. they also bring in the top WR recruits every year and can pay for transfers.

I thought so. He has skill. …

I thought so. He has skill.  But watching how his season played out is what makes me terrified about the possibility of having a true freshman starter next year.

That is a good question. I…

That is a good question. I think Colson has a decision to make. I, for one, had high hopes for NHG during the full season that he was expected to be back any day. I would welcome him back, but presumably, he wants to transfer somewhere he would be higher on the depth chart.

It could. Presumably OSU…

It could. Presumably OSU would need FSU, Texas and Bama to lose. Not impossible.

I thought ND was getting the…

I thought ND was getting the Duke QB?

I was curious about Moore…

I was curious about Moore too. I heard on the Cover 3 podcast that there was an issue with his NIL deal at UCLA and that he may be looking to transfer regardless of whether Kelly stays. Kind of assuming that Oregon would have the inside track though with the NIL opportunities and Bo Nix finishing up his college career this year.

I agree with this completely…

I agree with this completely.  I get the sense that Moore just naturally sees everything through the prism of run-first and that philosophy is further reinforced if anything negative happens in the passing game.  There was no reason to completely abandon the passing game against PSU.  It started to feel like we were going to blow them out until the offense completely turtled.

Also not sure it was a coincidence that JJ's worse game--against Bowling Green--was a game where Moore was the acting HC. That was another game where Michigan had just 13 pass attempts. I am much more concerned about the Harbaugh suspension than i was when it happened.

Yeah, he was clearly just…

Yeah, he was clearly just trying to convey that Eichenberg wanted to play really bad. OP trying too hard.

He is too married to the run…

He is too married to the run game. Especially when it isn’t working.

Sorry, I do not watch ESPN…

Sorry, I do not watch ESPN anyways.  I cannot help.

It is legitimately difficult…

It is legitimately difficult to tell which posts in this thread are sarcastic and which are serious.

Important piece of context…

Important piece of context from the article you linked:

"Rueben Hays, the CEO of Juneteenth GVL Inc., remarked that the intention of the banner was to promote unity for the event and that there were nine other designs which included Black, Asian and Hispanic residents. The idea, he also said, came from his all-Black board with no pressure from the city to diversify the promotion."

I do not think that fits as an example of white people co-opting the holiday.

Deone Walker from Cass Tech…

Deone Walker from Cass Tech on there. Michigan almost had him too.

What are you referring to? I…

What are you referring to? I do not see any medical opinions that Kirk Cousins gave in the article linked. He was asked a direct question about how concerned he was about the virus and he said he is not concerned and if he dies, he dies.  That does not sound anything like medical advice to me.

The original article says it…

The original article says it tested positive twice. Odd story.

How can you say Michigan was…

How can you say Michigan was never in the running when his last statement was that Clemson and Michigan were tied for the lead with him, and he just visited this weekend.

I will be rooting for MSU…

I will be rooting for MSU this weekend, but i do not take any wins for granted. Not even Rutgers and Indiana.

As far as posting incorrect…

As far as posting incorrect videos goes, this could have been much more embarrassing.

Odd that Shaun Crawford is…

Odd that Shaun Crawford is not on the list. Wasn't he a Michigan commit at one point?

I loved that wide-receiver…

I loved that wide-receiver class with him McDoom and Nate Johnson when they signed.  Shows how much i know.

Hey, what did i do?

Hey, what did i do?

We all know the offense has

We all know the offense has work to do. I hope this doesn't have to get brought up in every thread between now and the start of the season.

Interesting article. It does

Interesting article. It does not really support your title though.  It says he reached the fastest top speed on the field on offense, but a couple defensive players were faster.  Also, I am sure not all football players get the opportunity to reach their top speed on offense since they do not all hit the open field on 90 yard td runs.

What is the point of this What is the point of this again?
Ira addressed the matchups on Ira addressed the matchups on the mgoblog roundtable this week. Apparently, the B1G was going to have 3 teams in the New Years 6 bowls regardless of whether the champ made the playoff or not, so being left out of the playoff does not really effect the remaining matchups. The Iowa, Purdue, MSU and Northwestern match ups for example would have been the same even if OSU made the playoff. The B1G is making a nice showing so far this bowl season for sure.

I agree completely. It is

I agree completely. It is also not unfair for analysts to point out that a team should improve as a coach brings in players that fit his system.  Obviously, Rich Rod's offense was going to be more fully operation with Denard at quarterback than Threet or Sheridan.  While I agree with Meyer that a coach should not bring this up and use this as an excuse, there is no reason why analysts should ignore it.

I'm interested in Texas A&M. I'm interested in Texas A&M.
